Quite a few words, but they speak for itself. Because this means, proper Rallycross action and party hard through the night. The music never stops, even when the engines roar.
The second round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship was held on the most iconic Rallycross Track in famous Höljes, Sweden.
Unfortunately the World Rallycross Champions didn’t make it this time to compete on the so called „Magic Weekend“. The launch of the new electric Supercars were not as planned in Sweden, due to problems with the delivery chains of some parts.
But „Magic Weekend“ was eighter packed with proper Rallycross Action. The entry list was completely full with 25 Supercars and also the RX2e and RX3 Series gave us a good show.
Happy Street was settled for wheel to wheel action, lots of crashes and a dramatic finale.
Oliver Solberg was the Pacemaker on the first day, but Anton Marklund, Johann Kristofferson and Andreas Bakkerud were ready to fight and for some carnage.
And also mention the frenchman Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, who has always a good chance for a runner spot position.
Oliver Solberg the winner of a dramatic finale were disqualified after the race, because of too much weight of his car.
So Anton Marklund who finished second, got afterwards the trophy and were the winner of the European Rallycross Round in Höljes.
But the best race of the whole weekend was the finale of the Landskampen. A lot of action with ends up almost every lap in the sandbank and different race leaders was the perfect advertisement for a sport like Rallycross.
But take a look at the bonus coverage and find out what proper Rallycross really means.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit the magic weekend myself, but I do think Rallycross is so segmented in terms of cars and championships that something is missing these days…

It was my first time in Höljes. But I know what you mean. For me the golden era were the days with Loeb, Block, Petter, Eki… The best drivers and different cars. With the European Championship there were about 50 Supercars in Mettet for example. We will see what the future brings, also with the plans to build new tracks. 😉✌🏻

RX is not what it used to be. The skill level is so low these days, the pace is forking laughable. They really look like amateurs

Trust me mate they would still be faster then you and me both....
And I mean, what do you want? If you could go drive there you wouldn't say no either would you? Then people would say the same about you but you would still have fun!
But I agree, for the top talents, it is just not interssting enough any more sadly... And unfortunately, this will stay like this I think...
