@@chrisruth7057 you're not far off, they have been on test in excess of 220mph but not on scheduled passenger service trains.
They regularly get up to and slightly exceed 300 km/hr 186mph ( 3 miles per minute) on occasion.
I can listen to these 'whooooish' sounds all day and all night long... so relaxing, yet addictive.

Quand on est habitué à emprunter la LGV (surtout la LGV Paris Bretagne pour moi) on se rend pas vraiment compte de la vitesse en fait. On voit que le paysage défile super vite mais quand on voit comme ça, de l'autre côté de la vitre en quelque sorte, ça impressionne encore plus. 👍

if you turn the speed of the video at 1.75, hypothesizing that the actual speed of the train is 320km/h, you can simulate the world rail speed record made in 2007 (574.8 km/h)

Contrairement au Shinkansen japonais, il semble facile de filmer sans barrières sonores ni mesures élevées! Je suis jaloux!
Vitesse et puissance! Le bruit du vent propre à TGV est également génial!
Si je peux, j'aimerais voir une vidéo avec une structure similaire sur le Shinkansen japonais!

I know that technically the TGV is the same speed as many other countries like Germany, Spain, Italy etc. but it just always feels much faster. Am I imagining it or is it that only in France do trains really breach the 300 km/h barrier on a regular basis?

Do Trains in France follow left hand side rule ? Since road traffic follows right hand side rule, I thought same would be for railways too.
Its a little quirk of France that trains run on the left hand side, with the exception of the Paris metro that has right handed running. I think it is a throwback from when road traffic ran on the left but with no particular need to change it - not like a driver is going to drive on the "wrong side" !

@@lightningjomak C'est le service de trains à grande vitesse en Espagne, comme TGV en France. Là tu as une rame AVE de type TGV de la Renfe qui assure un service AVE à 2:51.
