I do think is a dupe, I do have both. I pretty much regret paying almost $400 for BR540 and in MY HONEST OPINION everyone that says it’s not a dupe, are just in denial! 🤷🏻♀️
It’s okay they’re not the same. Ingredient quality and sourcing was never going to allow it. What you’re noticing is probably personal chemistry mixed with placebo. Also, if you don’t have experience spellings layers in perfume and picking out luxury vs midrange-then things blend together for you easier which is also not bad. It just means more experienced and exposed noses will have a harder time not picking up on everything that differs. But it scientifically wouldn’t make sense for them to smell the same. Composition for one-they’re the same or they’re not. So you’re saying it passes well enough with the main notes you pick out...lesser concentrations and more alcohol are gonna jump out at someone who smells perfume that’s luxury a lot. I pick up on alcohol heavy perfumes in an instant and i can’t wear it once I catch that smell but see I also had to use a lot of bug spray growing up because of where I live and allergies to mosquitoes so that means an alcohol heavy perfume-in comparison at least like here- is gonna hit me immediately because the scents associations we make as a kid are lasting. I hated the smell. I don’t want it in perfume. Cloud pulls too lavender heavy for me as that was another drowning scent in my house. Since it’s not made to make the notes hard to distinguish the way Rouge is, I get even harder hits of the lavender and I don’t like it. It ruins even the coconut others pick up that I might enjoy. But it’s your wallet so spend what makes you happy. I rather enjoy her original and REM

i totally agree with u - CLOUD is a safe blind buy perfume...from young tèens to adults...it smells gently sweet yet so comforting like a soft, fluffy cashmere wrap around you.

Don't lie, 99% of people have never heard of Baccarat Rouge. It's a very niche and very expensive perfume that is regularly sold out in Paris. As if regular people in the supermarket are saying to you "oh my is that Baccarat Rouge I'm smelling"

Great review, thanks! I think nobody who smells them on me (and is not a perfume expert) can really notice the difference. But I myself clearly do, because BR is so refined, airy and definitely more cmplex than Cloud. But would I buy BR? No. I simply do not love it enough to pay so much. So glad to have Cloud as an alterative (at one tenth of the price 😀)
Every time I’ve tried a dupe of BR540, I’ve kept thinking that the liquid has gone off 😅 Like, I actually returned Burberry Her because I thought I received an old bottle. Then, I tried Ariana’s Cloud and realized it had quite a similar scent (which I had also thought had been from an old batch). Once I realized they’re meant to smell like that, I felt ridiculous. 🤣 Suffice to say, I am not a fan of anything that smells like BR540. Thankfully I get to save that $300+.
But did you ever actually try baccarat?bc imo the "dupes" are only about as close as maybe " in the same scent category" but still nowhere near. Get a sample of the Baccarat 540 extrait de parfum (to me far far more to it than the edp )&I guarantee you'll LOVE it. 😍😍 ** btw I agree, I bought cloud long after I already had baccarat edp &extrait ,& to me all I got was plastic &sugary sweet I thought I got a bad bottle too but everyone agrees it smells plastic at least the ppl I've asked.**

I really like how she breaks it down. And away that I understand and can almost smell. It's close to smelling it in person as I've ever come across. I've watched many videos on perfumes and she does the best job as far as making it as good as it can get without being able to smell it
First time I smelled Cloud I didn't really like it but gave it a chance and now I'm obsessed!! I think it smells soooo good!!! It was really hard to get my hands on it though, seems sold out almost everywhere at the moment.
I own both perfumes and must say they share similar vibe . Cloud is cheap but pleasant smelling perfume , where Baccarat to me is a King of all perfumes .I love BR540 so much after 70 ml bottle I'm buying 200 ml regardless the price . It last forever and sillage is the strongest of all niche perfume I own (even stronger than Sohan by Penhaligon's ). Cloud is lovely gourmand, every day perfume. Nice review😊
I’ve only ever smelled baccarat rouge once. I was working and a woman I waited on was wearing it. I asked her if she had on arianna grande cloud because it smelled just like it. She showed me the bottle and it was baccarat the extrait version.
I just did this with a coworker. I walked by and was like, "Is someone wearing Ariana Grande Cloud?" and she piped up and said no, but that she was wearing perfume that day (we're not supposed to wear fragrances in the medical setting). I said something about Cloud being a dupe for this super expensive perfume, and when she asked which one and I told her BR540, she laughed and told me that's what she was wearing. I felt a little bad comparing her pricey perfume to stuff from Walmart, but truly, it was what I immediately thought, since I own Cloud and have never smelled BR540. At least I know that they're close enough for my own nose, and I saved a ton of cash.
I loooove Cloud and I also love Burberry Her (another supposed Baccarat Rouge dupe) but to me, those two (I havent tried Baccarat yet) are not similar, just similar vibe, it's more like you said "if you like one you will like the other", Cloud is way more dense and warm and suuuper sweet (burnt caramel) while Burberry Her is somewhat sweet (it smells more like just white sugar instead of burnt sugar, like Cloud) and it's quite fresh and fruitier and I love the prominent musk smell it has, perfect for spring or fall. Since I love those 2 I really want to try BR540 and its Extrait version!! :)

In my humble opinion Baccarat 540 smells like a more mature and refined version of cloud. Like clouds mother i would say. If that makes any sense. In other words it’s smells expensive.

I have both. On me, they’re very different. I expected them to be much more similar, given reviews. The Cloud reminds me of those designer dupe brands, in that it smells of cheaper ingredients. That said, on my skin, they move in entirely opposite ways. 🤷🏻♀️
The way you described how br540 upsets your tommy and want to get it off you after a few hours is me with la vie belle. Every one loves that perfume. I really tried to love it but it upsets me and makes me nauseous. I thought i was weird to think that. Haven’t tried br540 but i am in love with cloud. My all year round scent now is Miss dior, la nuit tresor, mon guerlan and i just recently added cloud to my favourite. I cant do without these. I love to try new scents but i restock these ones when they finish.
There is a Canadian brand of perfume called Oakcha and has a fragrance called Sweven (about $40) that is supposed to be an amazing dupe for BR540. I’ve never tried BR540 but I will be satisfied with Sweven no matter how curious I am about the smell of BR540, because I love it! I can’t afford the expensive one!
Guys… I’ve been using cloud for a while now and I ❤ it! Never smelled BKR540 before last night… Sprayed the sample on my skin and it smells 1000% identical to cloud on my skin… like in exactly the same 😅
Even Cloud doesn't have the same notes as Baccarat Rouge, they both has same vibe on my opinion but between Cloud and Burberry Her I prefer Burberry just because is last sweet. Maybe you could compare Burberry Her with Baccarat Rouge next? 😉
I’ve never officially tried BR540 but I have a replica perfume and it smells amazing. Clearly I quite enjoy that scent family because I do own Burberry Her and Cloud. They’re all slightly different but I enjoy them all. The only issue is that the scents have become super popular and I am that annoying person who likes to be wearing a unique scent
I can not wear BR 540, it literally makes me sick, like I was having a cold with a sore throat, headache, even fever, I did some research and it looks like ambroxan overload is to blame. I had to sell my bottle, but since I love the smell I always look forward to check some dupes. So far the best for me is Gharaam by Swiss Arabian :)
Similar vibe but very different. Cloud doesn't come close to the complexity of BR 540. It doesn't have saffron, and that is obvious. But HER, Cloud & cheirosa 68 have a similar vibe for far less.
I have Cloud but haven't tried Baccarat yet, it does make me curious though because if you look at the notes it doesn't seem similar at all. Maybe I'll try a decant
I work at a fragrance outlet. Trust me, Cloud is 90-95% spot on. It's sweeter, and doesn't have the same woody, warm vibe.. and obviously doesn't have the same lasting power.. otherwise, Cloud is very, *very* similar to BR540. Edit: When notes are blended well enough, they can create scents and make others disappear. Notes don't always tell you what to expect!
Very similar in my opinion, but both aren’t necessary. I have Burberry Her, I think the vibes are similar but not identical. Banana Republic also makes Dark Cherry and Amber which is similar from what I heard.
I have both. Cloud is airy almost effervescent sweet like BR540 but that’s where similarities end. Who are these people saying they smell exactly the same?! Cloud is juvenile, whipped cream, almost coconut, very gourmand. BR540 is refined, sophisticated, sweet but woody notes balance out the sweet, smells expensive, is dense but subtle at the same time. I’ve smelled Burberry her which MFK created also but they smell dissimilar too. All the dupes will never compare to BR540
I thought I hated REM but my god has it grown on me. I’m so into it. It’s a more subtle Cloud. It actually smells almost salty to me. Never heard an Ariana song but her fragrances are so nice.
A lot of the cheaper perfumes do smell so nice. I’m not big on Ariana or listen to her music but i love the look of her perfumes and iv heard a lot about them especially cloud. I bought rem and cloud. But the smaller bottles today. I don’t buy perfume a lot or wear them a lot so I know it will last. I think a lot of perfumes smell similar to me idk so I always just get the cheaper ones. Buying really expensive perfume when there’s probably 1 that smells the same or similar for much cheaper is a waste of money to me. That’s just me though.
Late to the party here--first, my $0.02 on BR540 vs. Cloud: I got Cloud first, and loved it...still do, but sadly I developed a sensitivity to something in it, the last time I wore it I broke out in hives everywhere I sprayed it, ohhh the itching was maddening. So no more Cloud for me. :( (Keeping the bottle though, because it's freakin' adorable.) I'd been wanting to try BR540 for awhile anyways, so I obtained a decant from DecantX. Oh wowzers. I'm in love. I'll take that over Cloud any day (even if the sensitivity wasn't a thing), I LOVE the pine-y & cedar-y resinous quality (Pacific Northwest girl here, so it's practically in my blood to like those aromas), and the enveloping sweetness is rich & addictive (I can definitely see how it could be too cloying for some people's taste though). For me, BR540 is 100% worth the pricetag (will be purchasing a full-size bottle as soon as I can scrape the cash together, I can't keep living off decants lol...also it's great that they now offer a 35ml bottle, which is $195/€125). Next, the real reason I'm commenting: Soki, where is your blouse from?! It's adorable & so stylish (as are all your wardrobe choices!), and I'd love to check out the clothing from whatever company it's from. I caught in the description of one of your videos that the shirt in that was from Oasis Clothing (a purple floral blouse with ruffly sleeves)--I have a fairly extensive wishlist from there now, haha! It'd be awesome if you started regularly including what clothing brands you're wearing in your videos in the description. :) Finally--congrats on the release of Empress! I tried the MFK 540 once but I don't really like the smell. I agreed that the sweet is too much. I feel like I accidentally make the melting sugar stick on my body.
I can hardly smell BR 500!! It is very light and woodsy. I have cloud and it smells great! I can see the similarity but for whatever reason BR 500 just disappears on me! 😭😭😭

I have decant of bacarrat and I own the cloud parfum , they share a similar vibe . sometimes on my skin Bacarrat 540:plays me where I cant smell it throughout day and on another revisit, I smell my scent trail quite well 💖

Tbh i think ppl who think that cloud is a dupe for baccarat, don't want too see the 'expensive' truth. Cloid is such a creamy coconuty perfume while baccarat goes more in an oriental woody direction. They might be similar in terms of sillage, because both of them build a kind of a 'special' sillage but that's it.

Clouds lasting power disappointed me. I bought it on Thursday and I’ve been playing around with it and I’ve not come to fall in love with it. Usually all of my perfumes make me swoon! Cloud is leaving me… a bit unimpressed. I really do enjoy BR540 tho!
Cloud lasts much longer on clothes than on skin. I can smell Cloud on my clothes a whole day later. I do overspray Cloud but I'm fine w that because it's so inexpensive.

Despite I adrore 540, I received many comments saying that this is a more masculine smell! when I wear cloud, I was told that I am smelling like a caramel cookie😅. For me 540 smells very feminine.
I have baccarat R540… someone at work walk past me with a scent on, and I told her I know that scent it’s BR540… she told me no it’s Ariana G cloud…. So it’s definitely a dupe…. Duped me 😂

I blind bought cloud because of all the great reviews ! Cloud isn't available in my country so I had to buy it from fragrancex. Was charged exorbitant customs duty, but I was still excited when I got it. On 1st spray I thought something is off , still I sprayed it a couple of times on me. And within 10 mins , I was so Nauseuous ! Like literally felt sick to my stomach. I had to scrub it off ! Tried it again 10 days later, and same reaction. I think the "airy marshmallowy" note makes me sick. Did anyone else have the same reaction to cloud?
I had the same reaction when I first tried cloud 😳 I couldn’t get rid of the smell! Tried it again a few weeks later and for some reason it smelled different on me, now I love it🤷♀️
I thought the same with cloud. Tried it for a few days to see if it was just an adjustment, or if it really didn't sit well on my skin. I hate the way its smells on me. Very medical office-y, and this light sweetness that somehow makes my head hurt a bit like I'm carsick. Its hard to explain. On the other hand, my sister-in-law and my mother love it. And it does smell nice on them.

(I do buy MFK Baccarat rouge 540 extrait de parfum though so maybe cloud is closer to the edp , which I hv but don't wear bc ,imo again, it's just not nearly as refined or beautiful as 540 extrait de parfum ). *also cloud has a weird plastic smell to it , it smells like the cloud holder but it's in the actual perfume plus there's nothing after the sweetness unlike baccarat which has so much depth*

I find it the most similar but nothing beats BR540. It is so unique, the sillage is amazing and it lasts so long on me.

I loooove Cloud and I also love Burberry Her (another supposed Baccarat Rouge dupe) but to me, those two (I havent tried Baccarat yet) are not similar, just similar vibe, it's more like you said "if you like one you will like the other", Cloud is way more dense and warm and suuuper sweet (burnt caramel) while Burberry Her is somewhat sweet (it smells more like just white sugar instead of burnt sugar, like Cloud) and it's quite fresh and fruitier and I love the prominent musk smell it has, perfect for spring or fall. Since I love those 2 I really want to try BR540 and its Extrait version!! :)

Out of curiosity I bought cloud to see if it was as close as ppl said& to me no way, cloud has an awful plastic smell&is just sweet nothing more. I really don't see why ppl can't tell them apart. Imo , it's extrait all the way , there are no real "dupes" just scents that I'd call "in the same category" maybe.
In my humble opinion Baccarat 540 smells like a more mature and refined version of cloud. Like clouds mother i would say. If that makes any sense. In other words it’s smells expensive.

I have both. On me, they’re very different. I expected them to be much more similar, given reviews. The Cloud reminds me of those designer dupe brands, in that it smells of cheaper ingredients. That said, on my skin, they move in entirely opposite ways. 🤷🏻♀️
The way you described how br540 upsets your tommy and want to get it off you after a few hours is me with la vie belle. Every one loves that perfume. I really tried to love it but it upsets me and makes me nauseous. I thought i was weird to think that. Haven’t tried br540 but i am in love with cloud. My all year round scent now is Miss dior, la nuit tresor, mon guerlan and i just recently added cloud to my favourite. I cant do without these. I love to try new scents but i restock these ones when they finish.
The best dupe is Al haramain rouge. It’s literally the same smell and lasts even longer.
I wear Ariana Grande Cloud & a colleague wears Barakkat & they smell very similar so both good dupes of Baccarat Rouge 540
There is a Canadian brand of perfume called Oakcha and has a fragrance called Sweven (about $40) that is supposed to be an amazing dupe for BR540. I’ve never tried BR540 but I will be satisfied with Sweven no matter how curious I am about the smell of BR540, because I love it! I can’t afford the expensive one!
I've ordered a sample and I prefer Cloud over Sweven. Never tried BR540 so I can't compare.

Even Cloud doesn't have the same notes as Baccarat Rouge, they both has same vibe on my opinion but between Cloud and Burberry Her I prefer Burberry just because is last sweet.
Maybe you could compare Burberry Her with Baccarat Rouge next? 😉

The first time I smelt PINK clouds, I literally asked who is wearing baccarat rouge??? I was so shocked it wasn't br540.
Another dupe for this is Allsaints Sunset Riot perfume which is even cheaper than cloud and lasts all day x
I’ve never officially tried BR540 but I have a replica perfume and it smells amazing. Clearly I quite enjoy that scent family because I do own Burberry Her and Cloud. They’re all slightly different but I enjoy them all. The only issue is that the scents have become super popular and I am that annoying person who likes to be wearing a unique scent
I do tend to wear cloud during the day for a lighter option and the replica/dupe at night as it can be a bit strong.
I can not wear BR 540, it literally makes me sick, like I was having a cold with a sore throat, headache, even fever, I did some research and it looks like ambroxan overload is to blame. I had to sell my bottle, but since I love the smell I always look forward to check some dupes. So far the best for me is Gharaam by Swiss Arabian :)

I've never smelled 540... But I have smelled Ariana Grande Cloud, and it's one of my favorite women's fragrences. As a guy, I would wear it myself.
Similar vibe but very different. Cloud doesn't come close to the complexity of BR 540. It doesn't have saffron, and that is obvious. But HER, Cloud & cheirosa 68 have a similar vibe for far less.
I have Cloud but haven't tried Baccarat yet, it does make me curious though because if you look at the notes it doesn't seem similar at all. Maybe I'll try a decant
I work at a fragrance outlet. Trust me, Cloud is 90-95% spot on. It's sweeter, and doesn't have the same woody, warm vibe.. and obviously doesn't have the same lasting power.. otherwise, Cloud is very, *very* similar to BR540.
Edit: When notes are blended well enough, they can create scents and make others disappear. Notes don't always tell you what to expect!
Cloud only smells like BR540 in its opening. Afterwards, all I smell is coconut. This is a fragrance for a younger woman or a teenager.
Very similar in my opinion, but both aren’t necessary. I have Burberry Her, I think the vibes are similar but not identical. Banana Republic also makes Dark Cherry and Amber which is similar from what I heard.

I have both. Cloud is airy almost effervescent sweet like BR540 but that’s where similarities end. Who are these people saying they smell exactly the same?! Cloud is juvenile, whipped cream, almost coconut, very gourmand. BR540 is refined, sophisticated, sweet but woody notes balance out the sweet, smells expensive, is dense but subtle at the same time. I’ve smelled Burberry her which MFK created also but they smell dissimilar too. All the dupes will never compare to BR540

I thought I hated REM but my god has it grown on me. I’m so into it. It’s a more subtle Cloud. It actually smells almost salty to me. Never heard an Ariana song but her fragrances are so nice.
I can't smell REM unless I overspray, so weird.
A lot of the cheaper perfumes do smell so nice. I’m not big on Ariana or listen to her music but i love the look of her perfumes and iv heard a lot about them especially cloud. I bought rem and cloud. But the smaller bottles today. I don’t buy perfume a lot or wear them a lot so I know it will last. I think a lot of perfumes smell similar to me idk so I always just get the cheaper ones. Buying really expensive perfume when there’s probably 1 that smells the same or similar for much cheaper is a waste of money to me. That’s just me though.
Late to the party here--first, my $0.02 on BR540 vs. Cloud: I got Cloud first, and loved it...still do, but sadly I developed a sensitivity to something in it, the last time I wore it I broke out in hives everywhere I sprayed it, ohhh the itching was maddening. So no more Cloud for me. :( (Keeping the bottle though, because it's freakin' adorable.) I'd been wanting to try BR540 for awhile anyways, so I obtained a decant from DecantX. Oh wowzers. I'm in love. I'll take that over Cloud any day (even if the sensitivity wasn't a thing), I LOVE the pine-y & cedar-y resinous quality (Pacific Northwest girl here, so it's practically in my blood to like those aromas), and the enveloping sweetness is rich & addictive (I can definitely see how it could be too cloying for some people's taste though). For me, BR540 is 100% worth the pricetag (will be purchasing a full-size bottle as soon as I can scrape the cash together, I can't keep living off decants lol...also it's great that they now offer a 35ml bottle, which is $195/€125).
Next, the real reason I'm commenting: Soki, where is your blouse from?! It's adorable & so stylish (as are all your wardrobe choices!), and I'd love to check out the clothing from whatever company it's from. I caught in the description of one of your videos that the shirt in that was from Oasis Clothing (a purple floral blouse with ruffly sleeves)--I have a fairly extensive wishlist from there now, haha! It'd be awesome if you started regularly including what clothing brands you're wearing in your videos in the description. :)

I tried the MFK 540 once but I don't really like the smell. I agreed that the sweet is too much. I feel like I accidentally make the melting sugar stick on my body.
Probably an unpopular opinion but I prefer Cloud. I think they are pretty similar thou.

Never smelled BCR but the cloud and Burberry Her smell very very similar. Cloud is sweeter though and lasts much longer.
I can hardly smell BR 500!! It is very light and woodsy. I have cloud and it smells great! I can see the similarity but for whatever reason BR 500 just disappears on me! 😭😭😭

Tbh i think ppl who think that cloud is a dupe for baccarat, don't want too see the 'expensive' truth. Cloid is such a creamy coconuty perfume while baccarat goes more in an oriental woody direction. They might be similar in terms of sillage, because both of them build a kind of a 'special' sillage but that's it.
I couldn't tell a difference even smell them side by side. And cloud's performance can compete with if not even better than BR

I have both and to me, they are IDENTICAL. Anyone who says they are different, is only fooling themselves bc of the hype and price of Baccarat.

Clouds lasting power disappointed me. I bought it on Thursday and I’ve been playing around with it and I’ve not come to fall in love with it. Usually all of my perfumes make me swoon! Cloud is leaving me… a bit unimpressed. I really do enjoy BR540 tho!
Cloud lasts much longer on clothes than on skin. I can smell Cloud on my clothes a whole day later. I do overspray Cloud but I'm fine w that because it's so inexpensive.

Despite I adrore 540, I received many comments saying that this is a more masculine smell! when I wear cloud, I was told that I am smelling like a caramel cookie😅. For me 540 smells very feminine.
I have baccarat R540… someone at work walk past me with a scent on, and I told her I know that scent it’s BR540… she told me no it’s Ariana G cloud…. So it’s definitely a dupe…. Duped me 😂

I haven't enjoyed the smell of Burberry Her or Cloud, so I'm kind of glad that I can safely say I wouldn't like the very expensive BR 540.
I blind bought cloud because of all the great reviews ! Cloud isn't available in my country so I had to buy it from fragrancex. Was charged exorbitant customs duty, but I was still excited when I got it.
On 1st spray I thought something is off , still I sprayed it a couple of times on me. And within 10 mins , I was so Nauseuous ! Like literally felt sick to my stomach. I had to scrub it off !
Tried it again 10 days later, and same reaction. I think the "airy marshmallowy" note makes me sick.

I had the same reaction when I first tried cloud 😳 I couldn’t get rid of the smell! Tried it again a few weeks later and for some reason it smelled different on me, now I love it🤷♀️
I thought the same with cloud. Tried it for a few days to see if it was just an adjustment, or if it really didn't sit well on my skin. I hate the way its smells on me. Very medical office-y, and this light sweetness that somehow makes my head hurt a bit like I'm carsick. Its hard to explain.
On the other hand, my sister-in-law and my mother love it. And it does smell nice on them.
I hv both &while I could see why someone who's only sampled baccarat would think so it's NOWHERE there. (I do buy MFK Baccarat rouge 540 extrait de parfum though so maybe cloud is closer to the edp , which I hv but don't wear bc ,imo again, it's just not nearly as refined or beautiful as 540 extrait de parfum ).
*also cloud has a weird plastic smell to it , it smells like the cloud holder but it's in the actual perfume plus there's nothing after the sweetness unlike baccarat which has so much depth*

I've tested Mancera Instant Crush, and I like everything about it Beside the drydown. Anybody know of something similar but with different dry down?
