The judge was like "is this true" and then the lawyers were like "yeah totally, you don't even need to read the document properly, believe me bro" and then the judge was like "cool bro, I believe you"
@@debateforallkz Exactly. If Louis and Harvey said Mike was lying, the judge would simply request the full document of the bylaws and find the paragraph Mike was referring to. Then Harvey and Louis would be in serious trouble. Furthermore, they'd have to go into case with a judge that already doesn't trust them.
You lie to a judge you will immediately get disbarred, an attorney speaking to a judge is always under oath. If a lawyers lies under oath it's instant disbarment. No attorney would ever risk lying to a judge, cause it's their whole career.
I like the look on Louis's face 😂 because if I remember correctly, he wrote the bylaws 2:29 🤣 he's like "oh yeah...right" remembering what he wrote and that Mike has a photographic memory
I watched this season, but couldn't remember this scene. I'm satisfied--impressed by how Harvey and Louis are defending Faye--and entertained by how Mike uses his memory to defend Samantha. Harvey and Louis should have anticipated such a move.
The Unthinkable happens - when Specter Litt ruins the party on the side of the woman they also hate. The Unthinkable happens - when Specter Litt finds a byelaw that makes Samantha's sacking admissible. The Unthinkable happens - when Mike finds a way to outdo even THAT!!!!
Well the thing is that was the plan. They wanted it to go to court and knew Mike would know the bylaws by heart. It was all about antagonizing the judge so that it would go to trial quickly and not be delayed for months or years.
@@Rushinator1 no it was not minutes after they had a big fuss yk so Harvey and Louis rlly tried to end the "process" fast because the deal between them and faye said if they successfully defend her she leaves
It was his entire plan. He hates faye more. End of the day he got his case moved up, motion denied and bad impression on the judge for faye. It's a win for him
Actually if you include his 'Interview' from the Pilot then it's the second time. Mike beat Harvey on Stock Option Backdating whilst playing Hearts because he understood everything already.
actually no, they were hoping he wouldnt fight back. their goal was to win and faye would have to leave. mike knowing that information actually hurt what they were trying to do.
well probably considering the hint they dropped him with bylaws. they know samantha is too hot headed and mike just need the right direction and mike definitely have to had read the bylaws. all they had to do was mention the word bylaws, mention the article and let mile filled in the blank
@@henryung2980 Of course they did. They had to show they tried to defend her to the best of their ability, but they knew Mike would call their bluff, they were counting on it so that Faye would know they tried but it didnt work. They knew Mike/Samantha wouldnt drop the suit so their plan was to force the trial to start ASAP, with a judge that would alrdy be prejudiced against their defence.
Just a tip: don't try to pull one over on a judge, be you an attorney or an everyday citizen. It never ends well. They didn't get to where they are by being pushovers or weak. Harvey and Louis are lucky she didn't call the Bar immediately to have them stripped of their licenses.
Yeah, Mike's photographic memory is a true gem and a force to be reckoned with in moments like these. I mean, come on, Louis couldn't even remember that part of the paragraph when he's the one that wrote those bylaws? 🤣
Genius Harvey and Louis knew Mike would remember that bylaw but they have to act like they really are on Fay’s side to not make matters worse great move by Harvey and louis
The fact that Harvey and Louis, some of the smartest lawyers around, BOTH thought that Mike didn't have the entirety of the bylaws memorized is amazing
So we can all agree that this was part of the gameplay but my question is at 2:40 after they'd been busted, what was Harvey planning to say here? "Please don't listen to them because having photographic memory is cheating".🤣🤣
Mike and Louis be like oh no he is saying everything when we were couting on the fact that everyone from this show just gives a 1 sec glance to any document
Hm. Harvey and Louis were clever here. They knew Mike would know the bylaws back to front. They were counting on Mike to use what he used to bring the case to court. Very very clever. I'm probably giving the writers too much credit here, but this is my headcanon, now.
I don’t know why they went with the bylaws when the Special Master provisional arrangement gave Faye the ability to fire, with or without cause. She basically stated she had that power when she introduced herself to the firm’s leadership.
mike is the best lawyer in the entire series, and he wasn't even a lawyer in season 1 is like to see my boy growing up, but wait i dont even have a boy xd
I’m still torn on - did they know he would remember that and go ahead with the plan knowing they could say to Faye they done as instructed but failed OR Mike was just better than they expected and beat them….
This whole season was a mess. The firm and its mission was very clear with Jessica leading. As soon as she left the entire firm went in a bad direction. And they tried to stir up unnecessary drama by adding two new characters. Suits was never the same.
0:40 Grandma Faye is something else and you wanna know what? She thinks she can run this family because of the Ethics board? This is sad and all she wants to get stuff done I these people are hilarious. Grandma is always one step ahead.
So the bylaws are some kind of trick to move the goalposts whenever they need to. Just dive into counter statements deeper than the ocean and wins by finding the deepest loophole..
louis and harvey just managed to make the judge less likely to be on their side..... they should´ve known mike knows the paper in-and-out with his memory
The only down side about this show is that they made the Katrina Bennett character out to look and act like such a dull and introvert person especially even after being a series regular seriously they should've done more better with her character
S7 was alright too, with Mike and Rachel still there. But then from season 8 up until the end of season 9 with all the new characters, was just not the same
I just have to say that Samantha Wheeler is the worst thing to happen to Suits. I hated every episode she is in. Whew...I finally got that off my chest!
Grace Anatomy first aired in 2005, so I guess it was recorded in 2004. This girl was 26 at that point, and looked absolutely amazing. It's sad what father time does to us all.

the look on harvey and lousis face when mikes memory ruins their entire gameplan in under 30 seconds , is priceless.
