Dude, it’s such a rush. I highly recommend taking a trip down to Maryland to see what it’s like. Every angler should experience snakehead fishing at least once 🤙🏻
@Anthony thanks for the heads up. I think I’ll be ok, I have fished for bowfin before so Ik my rods should definitely be able to handle snakehead. Only department I’m not 100 percent in is line; specifically whether or not I should use straight braid 40-60lb or if I have to run a braid/heavy floro leader.
I've caught a few in South Jersey. 20lbs braid with 30lbs mono leader is fine. I've pulled a large one out of the water and over 3 feet to land, just fine yesterday. They taste just as good as fluke or stripe bass; their meat is a little firmer though.
