Doesn't it kinda sound like Aizen was speaking from experience about having his truth shattered? Apparently he learned the truth about "that thing" and was shattered. And could not understand Kizukes acceptance of the status quo.
It’s because (in my opinion) Aizen was too isolated. Kisuke, despite his intelligence, found a way to relate to those around him and see the necessity- dare I say the good in how things were, while Aizen couldn’t because he had no idea how to.
Ironic, despite all that Aizen has done, we never learn his true backstory. The main villain for the entire first half of the Manga, and one of the most influential characters in the whole series, and we know next to nothing about him.
@@SabeNo-rh7mb I think we do learn his true backstory, we're just never explicitly told or shown it. Through his quotes, through his ideals as explained to Urahara, and through Ichigo finally feeling his heart, we get pieces of his backstory which shape a clear picture of who he was and what turned him into what he is now. Which I think Kubo did intentionally. Born an exceptional prodigy, Aizen was always incomparably brilliant and powerful. As such, he felt as though he were alone in the world. No-one could understand his mind, nor could they stand by his side. As one can expect, this caused him to develop a superiority complex. Then, eventually, his brilliance led him to uncover the truth about the Soul King which shattered his previous understanding of the word. He grew to despise the world now that he saw past the curtain. And so, like those who came before him and became dissatisfied with the status quo, the 5 Noble Clan Founders in the primordial universe and Yamamoto during the lawless era, Aizen decided to do something about it. The 5 Noble Clan founders imprisoned God, mutilated his body so he could never escape, and used his power to create a universe they wanted. Yamamoto founded the Gotei 13, a military force, to instill order to Soul Society. Aizen wanted to put a real ruler on the throne of heaven rather than continue with the current farce where everyone bowed to a corpse. And because of his upbringing, because of his unparalleled brilliance and power, why shouldn't HE be the one to sit upon that throne? And so, that loneliness turned to ambition. Yet despite that, he never fully escaped his desire to be understood, to have someone who could stand beside him.
This would be perfect as Aizen's victory speech over Sasuke during a cross over event. Sasuke's disbelief as he's confronted with the existence of Shinigami. I imagine Aizen says the bit about "this is simply about only wanting to hang on to your personal power" as he takes Sasuke's Rinnegan and feeds it to the Hyogoku.
Forget Sasuke, you know who really deserves to hear this speech? Bakugou and Vegeta. Both characters grew up as spoiled brats simply because they were progidies. They were nothing but absolute dicks to their respective rivals and their friends because they were "failures" who had the audacity to stand up to them. Because of their upbringings, both characters developed incredibly fragile egos in the belief that no fighter alive should ever be above them in strength. And none of their peers ever truly call either of them out on this (at least, Bakugou's never called him out).
Why I hate Bakagou. He has received no punishment for his actions or mentality beyond the fact Deku is far far stronger than Bakagou can ever be. Also Bakugou is apparently a popular character in Japan. Guess we know more why Japan has a huge bullying problem
This is quite ironic when considering the extent to which Aizen was in denial when he realized Ichigo had far surpassed him. 😆 At the same time, that is understandable since he was always unnaturally strong and played the long game and put in a good amount of effort in order to become far stronger only to be surpassed by someone he considered to be a mere human. I would have had the same reaction.
Plus his very journey is based on this irony. He didn't want to accept that Soul King was the true ruler, even though it's a hard fact, just like Urahara mentioned.
So what I can understand. Truth does not matter, only facts. Bad part is, people only accept facts that agree with their way of thinking. Shit, every human is like this. It's a flaw. It what makes us human.
Every single one of us goes through life depending on and bound by our individual knowledge and awareness. And we call it reality. However, both knowledge and awareness are equivocal. One's reality might be another's illusion. We live in our own fantasies
When the Mc Donalds clerk explains the ice-cream/milkshake machine is down for cleaning or maintenance again and the customer just does not want to believe it. Clerk: "Accept it its the truth."
So I only watched the sub of Bleach but as soon as I heard Aizen's voice here I knew it sounded familiar. So I looked it up and found out that Kyle Herbert his voice actor voiced Sima Yi in the Dynasty Warriors series. Which is awesome considering Aizen and Sima Yi's personalities are so similar. Also even more amazing is that Kyle Herbert is the voice of Gohan when he's an adult in Dragon Ball.
The thing about facts is that those can change, they are not immutable or forever objective. Things that we thought were facts ages ago are not facts today. The real truth is that if facts change that you need to be willing to change with them. Something Aizen did not want to do once he faced Ichigo again.
Interesting how when Urahara was sealing Aizen away, he goes back on this, wanting nothing to do with living under the hard fact of the Soul king being the linchpin of their worlds.
