      Actually you don’t have to wait for the leaves to dry.
      Ginger can be picked at any time.

    I am in Maryland first time having Ginger growing in 2 pots from Spring 2019, I brought the small pot inside. The large pot is still outside, 34+ degree at nights with the first frost last night. I really need your advices, when should I harvest the outside pot? what should be done to prepare for the next year planting please! How about the pot that was brought inside few weeks ago? Many thanks

      Henri Fischer Must be a different variety of Ginger, mine should have had large fragrant white flowers.

    • @henrifischer1119
      @henrifischer1119 5 лет назад +2

      @@anythingbootneck could be. I just buy it at a grocers, cook with it and sometimes put the remainder in some soil. it grows one, sometimes two long stems and now and again I dig it out, break off a piece and put the rest back. It only flowered in the summer of 2017. I love ginger. fresh it almost smells like a flower shop. became a vegetarian in 2017 and since then often eat indian like dishes which beg for garlic and fresh ginger. tonight's menu features dhal with naan. however you made me curious as to how many varieties of ginger there are, what the difference in taste is, what kind I use etc. etc.

      Henri Fischer Can’t day I’m all that keen on ginger, I wanted to grow it purely for the beautiful flowers, I bought it at a garden centre. I’m also vegetarian.....pescatarian actually.😀
