    Thank you for this awesome video - it's just what I needed. The only difference in my case is I bought the whole Palmrest Touchpad Cover w/Keyboard already attached (5CB0R12718), but all instructions still apply. Thanks again!

    Thank you for this video. Is there any easier solution if only several buttons are not working constantly, instead of replacing the whole keyboard? What is the reason for the button failure?

      Thanks ✌ for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
      Regarding your question: unfortunately there is no permanent or temporary fix for this issues.
      the keyboard is made of two lining of flat plastic that is called membrane, this part can be damaged because of one or two factor: #1. water or humidity can get in there and can cause the damage ( if you even try dry or if its even dry the damage its not reversible)
      #2. the over heating, when the laptop over heats and the back of the keyboard its a aluminum sheet that can absorb the heat from laptop, and the heat will start shrinking the plastic membrane and its will start the false clicking and or stop working. that's why you should do your service often.
      sorry to inform you but no solution for fix, just replace the entire palm rest or the keyboard only.

      its much easy to replace the palm-rest:

    Hi followed all steps and connected the keyboard but connector strip was a bit short so had to bend it. Now keys seem unresponsive or give wrong characters. Do you have any idea if this could be driver related or just bad assembly from my side?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Год назад +1

      something wrong with your flex connection or bad keyboard. make sure the flex cable in inserted all the way inside the jack and if you have pulled hard you may have damaged the flex cable of the keyboard my friend. :( double check the connection and send me pictures if you need to so i can check.

    Hi! Two of my keys (a and z) are malfunctioning: I have to press them several times, or they type multiple letters at once. I cleaned them but it didn't solve the problem. Do you think there was a liquid contact in that area, so there's a circuit damage and the only thing I can do is to replace the whole keyboard?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
      Regarding your question,I've been fixing laptops for a long time, around 17 years. I can say with absolute certainty that the problem you're experiencing is likely caused by humidity, water damage, or overheating. These issues can harm the keyboard's membrane, and unfortunately, there's no easy fix for it. Over time, it might affect more keys, and the best solution is to replace the entire keyboard.
      Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

    How necessary is the Plastic melting? I thought the Keyboard is Held in place by the Motherboard. And that is Held in place by screws

      regarding your question: not too necessary but it will be bumpy a bit, but place it without melting and if you no like then melt the plastic.

    Learn from my mistake: Scratch the rivets off as it is described here. Do NOT use a soldering iron to remove the rivets! This will melt and shorten the plastic pins even more and your melted plastic will not be able to reach it to stick to it anymore. The result is an uneven keyboard in my case :(
    Recommendation: Think about buying a new keyboard all together with the case. Its not that much more expensive. That way you wont need to do this tricky plastic melting part.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Месяц назад +2

      🫠Regarding your mistake, yes, we do get clients in the store who have done what you did, and we end up replacing the palm rest. You can get a new palm rest with or without the keyboard from AliExpress.
      But you learned something; as long as you learn from mistakes, you are living life.
      cheers🍻
