BRAVO ! ....when I first saw your hand, especially your 5th finger, I said to myself this Young Man has the Perfect hand for Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Concerto... I was fortunate to have been a friend of the Great Vladimir Horowitz and often took walks with him near his townhouse in Manhattan back in the 1970s...I received my Masters at Juilliard way back in 1977. I would ask the Maestro endless questions about Pianists, Pianos, Composers and even technique. He surprised me when he said that the most important finger on the hand for a Pianist is the 5th !...i soon realized that he was right...especially for the heavy artillery works like Rachmaninoff, Liszt or Prokofiev. I checked on RUclips if you are a Pianist as well as a Harpsichordist and I was not surprised that you are a wonderful Pianist. I’ve watched some of your Chopin Etudes and they are world class. You have great potential in your Scarlatti but if I may make an important suggestion...you never use the Una Corda Pedal in your Scarlatti playing ?.... I played several Scarlatti Sonatas for Mr. Horowitz before one of my recitals and he told me that I was the only Pianist ( beside himself ) that knew the importance of The Soft Pedal for Contrast passages in Scarlatti...we both started to laugh. I tell all of my Students to experiment a great deal with the Soft Pedal..ESPECIALLY in Scarlatti.......Keep up The GREAT work Gen !!!!!!!!!!
