Hi Ange, if you want to see a real vampire movie I highly recommend Interview with a Vampire. It has Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas.
As much as I love Johnny’s acting in this, I feel like Vincent Price doesn’t get enough credit as the scientist. He was one of Tim Burton’s role models, and he did a lot of great horror voice overs and appearances in all sorts of stuff, like having his voice in Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”. This movie putting him in a role of a scientist in a dark castle, yet having the character be genuinely sweet and kind was a pretty cool subversion in my opinion!
It was this very film that introduced me to him... he's one of my favorite classical actors ever

i love his real classical works his parts in a movie never dissapoints...
This was his last movie, I believe. I love him too. He was the King of Creepy.
Vincent Price truly was a man who was destined to become an iconic horror actor. A man with a voice like that couldn't have been anything else.
When I was in college, we had an assignment about production design in movies and this is the movie I picked. So, hearing you say about everything being colorful and Edward being black and white was a total call-back for me!! :D

He’s gone from making some of the best soundtracks of all time to literally admitting himself that he has preferred recently to merely aid the moments in films rather than create memorable scores. When Elfman himself admits he’s not doing the same quality work he used to do it’s pretty fucking hard to argue with him. You name one fucking memorable, hummable, iconic score he’s done in the recent years?! You can’t.

tim burton actually had nothing to do with coraline! lol it was henry selick, who is also the ACTUAL director of nightmare before christmas, too! you know what burton did direct that isn't the least bit scary but IS absolutely beautiful, though? big fish, which you should absolutely react to lol
Johnny Depp and Tim Burton have done so much together, and I think Sleepy Hollow is an under-appreciated classic.
Sleepy Hollow is a masterpiece. Very underrated
No lie, I once dual wielded two shears and tried to make an ice sculpture as a kid. I got my ass whupped so hard by my mom for wasting the ice.

johnny is one of the greatest actors ever imo, I love the way he acted in this movie because even if he didn't speak much he portrayed perfectly every emotion using his expressions. also, yes! he did have scissors while filming, in fact he cut himself frequently 'cause it wasn't easy to move and act with that in his hands. hopefully u'll react to more movies with him
This came out when I was 12 and really hit that sweet spot for a melodramatic tween, haha. I was IN LOVE with Edward. My sister and I would fall asleep to this soundtrack a lot, too, especially around Christmas time.
Since you liked this, I’m going to recommend some other whimsical films from the ‘80s and ‘90s: Hook, with Robin Williams; Willow; Return to Oz; The Dark Crystal; Labyrinth; and The Last Unicorn (animated)

i am just now realizing as a neurodivergent young adult that this movie is about a young man with a very obvious physical and possible mental disability being used and abused by his peers then almost murdered several times
Saw it in the theaters in 1990. I was like 14 or 15. I fell in love wih this movie and still am till this day. That was Tim Burton's reimagining of the "Beauty and the Beast" but in a modern setting. This movie fits very well for the Holidays especially Christmas. Danny Elfman did an astonishing job with the score.

I've always been confused about why the scientist thought sharp blades would make the most suitable temporary hands to put on his reanimated corpse science experiment. It was an accident waiting to happen. Hooks or coathangers would have been better choices.
I highly recommend “Benny & Joon”. Another Johnny Depp classic performance.
I NEED a reaction to Cry Baby😂 It’s one of my favorite Johnny Depp movies right next to What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. (Btw What’s Eating Gilbert Grape also has young Leo in it too. It’s really just a masterpiece of a movie that covers every emotion. Happy, sad, anger, grief, etc. I 100% recommend it to anyone who’s never seen it👌)

ScissorHands is definitely a once in alifetime movie, so glad you finally got to see this gem!! You asked for similar movie types, well here is a couple : 'Starman' -1984 movie and 'Made In Heaven' - 1987 film. Both are wonderful fantasy dramas with some comedy. Hopefully you add to your future watch list.
I love this movie! And if you'll like to see another Burton-Depp-Elfman combo I suggest you watch Sleepy Hollow, that one is also great.

You need to watch The Lost Boys! The mom in this (Diane Wiest) plays the mom in that, it’s an iconic 80s movie!
The score for this movie as a whole, but particularly the sequence for "The Ice-dance", is the most beautiful piece of music ever made, in my opinion.

This is a stab in the dark. I am going to recommend an old film which really does not fit the style of your videos. But I am interested to know what you would think of the incredible film, 12 Angry Men. Maybe do a poll to see if people have an interest in seeing older films?

The neighborhood in this movie is filmed about 10 minutes from my house just outside of Tampa. It looks pretty similar besides the fact that the trees have grown.

Last time I watched this movie was as a kid. I don’t know why but for some reason I always remembered it as Edward killing the woman he loved on accident and then being shot by the police. I was genuinely surprised to see the ending because of how differently I remembered it and I appreciate the fact that you cleared this up for me by reacting to this amazing movie.
That was clear self defense, Edward was absolutely allowed to, and even "supposed to," do that.
