Nightmare is my favorite series Ive been waiting for this one. I preordered. I'm pretty trusting of WB the Purple Rain 4k transfer was amazing Thank you for posting
@ and that’s fine, you’re getting 7 movies for $260, per title average is much cheaper. I’m all for Freddy, but not gonna spend $200 on Never Ending Story.
Despite it sounding like a glorious Steelbook set, I don’t like the sequels as much to drop this much. I’ll wait for a 4K version of the 7-film flimsy boxset
Steelbooks themselves are a ploy to soak money out of people. I generally despise steelbooks. I will only order them if the disc itself is superior, ie; Sony releases with Dolby Vision.
This is great!!!! Every video about all the nightmare movies, I've been saying I want a steel box with steelbooks inside just like the Rambo and Superman set. It looks like the studios read our comments. 😀
Region locked Blu-rays? Any added content that is new, not seen before? Uncut versions or added footage to any of the films? Any inserts, art cards, etc? Dolby Vision or HDR10 ? All I know is they want $260. Buy NOW, ask questions LATER - is that the new business model for these companies?
I'm from the UK and have pre ordered through HMV who offer a 20% discount code so it came to £160. Works out at roughly £23 per steelbook and that is a good price considering how expensive physical media is nowadays
@Boogen4k We get an endless amount of 20% off refferal codes for HMV in the UK, basically. They get used and abused. I saved hundreds of pounds in 2024. I would drop you a code but they don't ship overseas.
This is awesome! I'm hoping the artwork they use for the box is the same artwork that they use for the DVD box set and I hope the artwork is the original and the spines of the steelbook look exactly the same as they did on the DVD set
Hey Ken, if I look at what the US website says for Canada it gives me a price of 339.99 CDN compared to the 269.99 US price point. I didn't order through Zavvi for the Elm St steelbook but it was Amazon US for that and after the conversion and shipping to me here in Ontario it came to just shy of $50. Looking at the same release on Zavvi it's running at $50.99 CDN so it may be expensive but not too far off from what the equivalent for the 7 films. Do you know if Zavvi charges when they receive the order or bills when the order is shipped.. Thanks for the video.
I’ll wait for a U.S. release. Then it will depend on if all the old special features are on it, if there is any new and if there are going to unrated cuts of some of the movies.
if more people would do that, these companies would be forced to lower their release date prices, but so many think they have to get them on day one, these companies know this, that's why you see these outrageous prices. Heck, if I were these companies, I'd be charging more just to see how much money people are willing to spend. I'd bet if this set was selling for $300, it would still sell, sad
The Elm Street steelbook collection will be 7 Steelbooks inside a metal outer case the same as the LOTR and Harry Potter tins. The same with The Dark Knight Trilogy is a Steelbook metal tin release too.
It's nuts, I keep saying more people need to refuse to spend these prices, great set or not, if more people refused to pay these crazy prices, the prices would come down, plain and simple.
For that much money it better have really awesome packaging. The original Nightmare DVD boxset which is one of the best DVD packages released was only $90. Even if you adjust for inflation that's ony $170 today. At least include the TV series for that price. And yes, of course I'll still buy it. That leaked picture from last year of Warner's 2025 releases was 100% accurate for Q1, so if we go by that this will be out in Q3 around Sept 23.
Thinking about it. Figure I can always cancel down the road if U.S. gets nice set. Yes, it's a high price. But like you said once you break it down, not bad if you are getting the tin box to hold all of them.
This is funny for me because I recently saw Ken's 1999 box set of NIghtmare on DVD, and now I've been trying to find a good condition and or new one for fairly cheap on eBay. sure I could go blu ray or this 4k, eventually but since dvd quality is OK with me, you can't beat that verisions packaging. It was great! Also got a cool outter box!
Love the first one....bought the steelbook. Would buy a 4k of the third. Other than that I don't need the others on 4k. If it goes on sale...maybe, but don't need it.
i hope steelbook set aren't the only version like the rocky set no standard release of the last to rocky movies by themselves i want a cheaper alternative
No way I’m spending that much on the Upgrades. I love many of the movies but Blu-ray is good enough. Will get it possibly if there’s a sale or just get digital versions to go with my Blu-ray collection.
Like Ken said, the regular release will likely be all the discs in a single case like the Rocky set or the original blu ray release for the Nightmare films. I doubt they'll have individual cases, but ya never know, I guess. The Reeve Superman films had individual cases, as did the Burton and Schumacher Batman films, so maybe there's hope.
Warner is the company that we can always count on prices coming down, the Friends 4K has already dropped from $250 to $150, I'm sure something similar will happen with NOES.
These prices are just getting out of hand, collecting physical media has become a thing for people who make really good money. Such a shame as I like to support it, but not at these prices.
I wish they would announce the global release at the same time, so that we can actually see the finished product / price, and make an educated decision on where we want to buy from. Now we're all waiting to see what the US/Canada is going to come out with. And while we wait these things are selling off the shelves LOL
Its going to be just like the Harry Potter set. I think its going to be limited, those steelcases always become difficult to obtain. Base on the popularity of this series, I think you should purchase it. With Zaavi they dont charge you until its ready to ship.
I'm over the steelbook craze myself. I'm frustrated with paying steelbook prices just to have titles in my collection. I know I'm the only one, but I have said my peace.
If more people refused to pay these crazy prices, prices would come down. I'm glad to see there are just as many people refusing to buy this as there are that already pre-ordered it.
NOES was my childhood but outside of 1, 3 and New Nightmare I don't really see buying anything new. I'm sure it will sellout pretty quickly actually. Longtime coming
@@NUCLEARFUZEN normally you are charged when it ships. I have had a couple last year that I pre-ordered and then canceled once U.S version was announced.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy the noes franchise is getting a 4k but to be honest I'd be more excited if it was a sf or arrow BLU-RAY box set than this thick shove all the movies in one case set (at least the us wb release) and the fact that if arrow a boutique label did this even on 4k it would cost $100-120
The price and that god awful TBC artwork that was used for the BluRay collection doesn’t make me want to click that pre-order button. Still hoping for a box set similar to the Scream Factory Halloween set from 2017. They did it right.
@ I did pull the trigger. Only because I know I can cancel later on if needed. I did that with The Terminator last year. Ordered through Zavvi first and then when it was announced for U.S., I canceled original order.

Zavvi rarely has poor art work on their steelbooks. Plus if a cheaper retailer like Amazon UK comes along you can always cancel and order from UK Amazon but beware UK amazon won't drop the price if it drops on preorders the exclusion is uk, De
Hard pass. Don't need all of these in steel, especially at that price. Also, there was speculation some of these were also going to be unrated versions like the first one and I'm not seeing a single one listed that way in the details. I'm also annoyed everyone but Zavvi is listing the Moana 2 4k steel at $65.
Definitely a no-go for me at that price. It is not the full franchise plus 40 a piece is ridiculous especially with 3 of these films being loathed by the mass fandom.

If folks can afford $200 for that Never Ending Story 4K set, they can afford it for a 7-film set like this.
I refuse to pay those prices but you are spot on correct
that giant book was made cheap quality too ....I bet on few years it will disintegrate due to the thin cheap leather breaking and cracking into pieces
"Can afford" is not the same as "want to buy". I gladly forked out the cash for the Neverending Story. Would I pay 260 bucks for Freddie?
