Hey Loraguy. A rock slide is different. Rock Avalanches are where the rock flows and traverses the mountain in a way very similiar to how snow does in an avalanche, as seen in this video. At the bottom of the mountain, the rock avalanche almost flows like a river, making it a rock avalanche.
I accidentally triggered much larger one while climbing alone in very remote turkish mountains, I couldn't believe how loud it was, scary sight, I'm not climbing alone above 3000m without route ever again. It's scary how silent and peaceful place can become so violent in one wrong step.
