Much to like here. Detailed, easy, balanced, dynamics are there, a bit mellow and overall very listenable. It also stays quite composed at the busiest tracks. Maybe not the deepest bass (not surprising), but tight and well controlled. The Audiolab seems to like them 😄
I grabbed a pair of these and to say they slaughtered my Wharfedale Evo, Denton and Diamonds is an understatement. Transients actually have musicality now. The soundstage now has depth width and height. Muddyness and flab has gone. Ringy treble is no more. For the money they are insanely good!
Magnificent. One question... How do you capture the audio in the video? Is it with a professional and/or special microphone? And when uploading the video to RUclips, what specification and/or resolution is the audio configured in? Do you upload the audio to RUclips in “Wave” or “FLAC”?
Hi, I am currently torn between getting a slim floorstanders such as dali oberon 5 or polk r500 vs focal chora 806 + subwoofer for a medium sized bedroom. I already own audiolab 6000a, rose technics rt5000 dac and polk hts12 subwoofer. Would you recommend the chora 806 vs those floorstanders for modern tracks?
Not sure if the Audiolab will cut it.. I owned the 948s and in my experience they need juice (A LOT) to perform the best, not only at loud volume (especially bass and in being effortless). I assume you have a larger room. They can dip low (2.5 Ohm) and my best experience to wake them: a Rotel Michi X3 and a Hypex Nilai. I understand Class D isn't everyone's cup, but that combo is seriously mindblowing. Ofcourse there are other excellent options, so certainly demo the Audiolab first against other (current) poweramps and/or monoblocks. What are you using now?
@@34332 Thank you for your answer. I just bought the speakers and I haven't even unpacked them from the boxes yet. I heard them in combination with Naim Supernait 3 and in this combination they sounded better than the Audio Monitor Gold 300, Sonus Faber Sonetto 8, Revival Audio Atalante 5. My room has dimensions of 4mx4m. If I don't find anything interesting, I'll probably buy Supernait 3. I don't know about the in300, because apparently it sounds nice too, I'll try to rent stereo amplifiers and test them at home. I was also thinking about Rotel Michi x3 or x5. I like strong, sharp and loud playing. I previously had a B&W 707s3 with a Naim Uniti Atom and even for such a small toy it played nicely, although I personally think that it sounds best with the Marantz Bowers Wilkins. At the moment I am looking for an amplifier that will last for years. Regards
Congrats re. the Focals, nice choice! Naim is connected to Focal, so that will match fine (also powerwise). A suggestion, the Naim is known for a more 'softer' sound, the Michi is more 'direct' sounding. However, the room will most likely dictate what sounds best in the end. Happy listening.
@@34332Так Audiolab способен выдать до 15А на выходе. Он прекрасно справляется со многими "тяжелыми" акустическими системами- например, Dynaudio. Только по одной выходной мощности судить нельзя.
Audiolab 9000A got more balls than you would expect. Heard it with Wharfedale Elysian 4, Wharfedale Dovedale, Infinity IRS Sigma, B&W 803 D4. It did perform very well and didn't struggle :)
Switched to these last year to achieve better dialogue capabilities in our home theater setup. Worked out ok. However the factory stands ar cheap trash. Literally pressed cardboard posts with threaded inserts that fail without any abuse.
Crazy - Haven't touched the original stands. But the build quality on the 806's is very fine for the price point, so that is really sad if that is not the case for the stand also ;-)

Hello. Will this Audiolab 9000a handle the Focal Aria 948? what do you think?

Clarity.. sounds Beautiful !
Agreed on 806 speaker build quality and performance vs cost. I mentioned low quality stand material to goad Focal to improve.
Микрофон чтоли плохой!? Звук хлам
la selección musical es desastrosa
This is one of the worst audio recordings. 👎
