Bug shmup bug shmup (that's not mushihimesama). Good game with a very fun scoring system. Hitting enemies with the regular shot builds up the skull circle which, when activated, absorbs all bullets in the circle until it runs out. Every bullet absorbed as a skull adds to the score multiplier.
Hitting large enemies with regular shot will eventually soul drain them, which is when they turn dark and play a distinct sound effect. Soul drained enemies shoot more bullets, but if you kill them with the laser, you get points based on your multiplier. The max multiplier is 24x. Dying resets it all the way to 1x, and bombing lowers it by about 6x. Bombing also turns all bullets onscreen into red skulls (and is the best way to get points on the final boss). Skulls at a 24x multiplier turn into red skulls too, which are worth more points.
Every stage also has 6 secret items, which appear when you shoot the little star icons with your laser. Collecting one fills your skull circle by about half, and this can be great for extending the circle after you've already activated it if you time the pickups well. There's only 2 extra 1-ups in the game, as well as a couple bomb pickups, and each of these also adds to your skull circle.
Run could've been better, but isn't that always the case?
There's an older version of the game called Space Moth DX. It's more repetitive, has simpler scoring, and just isn't as polished overall, so I'd recommend this version instead.

I've been looking for a good Space Moth: Lunar Edition run. I'm glad I found yours. Amazing! I just got my first couple of 3,000,000+ runs midway through level 3. Seeing you hit way past that at the end of level 2 is mighty impressive! Good work!!!
