I've been on the Dr McDougall diet (strict) for 3.5 weeks. I am eating a LOT of food.
I have dropped 11lbs (Edited down from 14lbs, my mistake, sorry)
I have no more chest pain
My blood sugars have stabilised completely (no meds)
My blood pressure is around 130/85 (no meds) (was 180/100)
    My mood is vastly improved
    My concentration is vastly improved
I have a spring in my step
My breathing is deep and clear again
I am much better at my favourite sport with no extra training
I run up the stairs effortlessly instead of struggling to walk up
My venous insufficiency in my lower left leg is clearing up
I've had nerve damage in my spine (for 10 years) that causes 20% of my left leg muscles to be numb and wasted. The numbness has halved, and I'm confident that will continue to improve, and the muscles will start to regenerate. They feel stronger already
My BMI was 31, now 28
My body water is 50%, up from 40%
My body fat percentage is 31%, down from 37%
I can almost touch my toes again. Before I was 30cm short
I have other improvements, but I cannot remember them all.......even though my memory has improved 😂
    Thank-you Dr John McDougall....and Mary of course🙂

December 4 2023 4 yrs whole Food Plant Base diet . I had 20 rounds of radiation on my face 18 months ago and my hair has changed horribly. What foods will help it to grow more healthier. Thank you John Mary and Heather for these videos

Ah... depending on whether the effects of the radiation, and given that number of doses, have destroyed the hair follicle cells in the face, and to what extent - it's possible that no diet will cause growth and regrowth here. Sorry, if that's the case: it sounds like you've been through a very tough time.
However, the starch based, plant exclusive diet of Dr M and contemporaries here you've been doing (superb :)) is the best option for preservation of cells in the body, and might give the best chance for any re-generation or maximising the remaining cell growth. Excess animal fats and proteins, and added oils from plants in the diet, do not seem to result in good follicle health, so it probably would have been considerably worse again if you'd been on that - would you have survived even, if that was case? Difficult question, I know.
I believe baldness (albeit not with a cancer focus) is something Dr M wrote about in one of his Newsletters on his website - you can probably find it, if you haven't already.
Possibly, trying to maximise the green and yellow vegetables and berries would be my best guess in the antioxidant capacity for the cells (although not making yourself hungry, you need that starch!). Not going so much to seeds, nuts, avocados maybe if that might sludge the blood flow more to the follicles (unless you need weight gain of course).
Sorry to not be of more help. Keep in there 👌

An unfortunately misleading title, would love to hear more about hormone related conditions that affect periods such as Endometriosis or PCOS

A question, please. Is there any clinical study, real scientific evidence, that nightshades aggravate autoimmune diseases? I have started adding nightshades to my diet and I want to see if it really negatively affects my psoriatic arthritis.

    • @JohnDoe-xk1dv
      @JohnDoe-xk1dv 6 месяцев назад

Yes, in the biochemistry literature, a number of studies - not difficult to find if you put it into a search engine - they can be actually causal as an autoimmune aggravator.
But only if somebody is nightshade sensitive or allergenic. Not for the general public as a whole. More uncertain if it has an interacting effect with animal foods, oils or other foods to my knowledge from current science. But if you're looking to reduce this, that's kicking animal foods, oils, refined grains and refined sugar, and any aggravating grains (in that order) first, followed by nightshades.
Also, no tobacco, alcohol of course, or drugs too.
