Thank you so much for this video. I took college classes for upholstery and really liked it. I bought this machine to start projects but I was never tought to wind my own bobbin or thread through the wide guide both directions. It works amazing now. I was struggling all week with it until now.
Thank you for your videos on this machine. I am picking up my machine today and getting more confident about my purchase knowing I can refer to your videos.
I want to thank you, I needed thin thread and a small needle for my project. I was able to set up my Juki 1541 to sew v60 thread with a #12 needle. Following your tension tips, it sews like a dream!😊
Really? I need to listen and try that!!! My 1541 seems to “eat “ finer fabric into the needle hole and cause a jam up. I just thought my machine was a beast...lol
For winding the bobbin you can have the thread come-out of the back of the bobbin and have it pinched between the bobbin and the plastic guard on the body of the sewing machine. This is how I learned to do-it. Saves the hassle of having to hold the thread or use a clip at the front. Great video - I just ordered a long-spout oiler and will now take my machine apart - something I've never done as I didn't know what to look-for.

I am not sure what you mean by spring feed. Do you mean take-up spring? My first impression when I hear your bottom stitch looks odd is that you need to tighten the upper tension. Here is my video on tension adjustment ruclips.net/video/xax0RTCqYTk/видео.html
Odd, when I got mine there was no tension at all on the take up spring either. A little fiddling and got it working where the thread tugs at it just enough.
Great presentation as usual, thank you. Would really like to be able to justify a machine like the Juki, until that day, I'll make due with my vintage Singers.

Well, maybe not better but perfectly adequate. I would not let the fact that a machine had automatic lubrication stop me from getting it. When machines run slower they need less lubrication and so it all has a way of working out. Loading a bobbin at full speed can get it all lubed up too.
Alex, according to the manual the bobbin should spin counter clockwise when you load it into the casing. If I understand correctly that is opposite of your instruction. Do you know if it really matters which way you load it? Either way seems to be fine to me. I have this machine and love it. I really appreciate you sharing all your knowledge.
I think the way that I show it is correct although I have done it wrong before and still had good results. Funny, right? I am mistaken…yes…two places on top to oil before each use…the red dot and the round plastic container. Thank you for your video. I refer to it quite often!
That would be this machine's bread and butter and no, there will be no skipped stitches provided it is properly running. ruclips.net/video/sBavkfataiM/видео.html
So my Juki DNU 1541S arrived. I lubricated it and threaded it up. My check spring did not bounce back after threading through it and notice the screw is extremely loose and is not bouncing when the machine running. When I began to sew there seems to be rubbing with the belt, noticed belt shavings are spitting out of the case. I have stopped using it until I can find out what is going on. Any advice?
Any suggestions Why would I have a big drag on my hand wheel , just to bring my the wheel forward and backwards is hard to do , I have servo motor , with the belt off there is a drag but worst with the belt on
MelodyAnn, that’s exactly what I thought when I first brought mine home! Didn’t realize just a slight depression on the pedal released it like Alex said. You’d think the sales people would tell you such things, lol.
Why is my Juki DNU-1541S not catching the bobbin thread. Top thread is fine but does not catch the bobbin thread at all. I got the bobbin thread to come up thru the needle plate but when I see it’s not catching the bobbin thread 😢
Just set up my machine. It seems the machine is sitting low and the door on top is level with the table so I'm unable to slide it out to the side. Do you think this is going to cause any issues?
There are shims in the corners that your machine sit on. These are usually rubber or felt. They are available in different thicknesses and I have made my own too. Low tech and effective.
@@AlexanderDyer Thanks, we used the ones that came with it. We'll probably add more to it to make it a little higher if it seems to be an issue when changing the bobbin.
I bought my machine brand new it did not come with all 3 of the oil plugs in the oil reservoir , I only have one where can I get 3 more I will replace all plugs
Oh and I guess I should mention I tried to look in the manual but I didn't see that rod in there which may be the reason why we couldn't figure out how to get it threaded. Idk
Shit, I pretty much figured the assembly out. Now to figure out where to line up those frigging dots to smoothly change bobbins. The dots on the wheel. Hint hint? …lol… I’m almost ready to sew. Christ, I had a choice, upgrade my machine or buy a new drum set. Well, the drums are gonna have to wait. The machine is more important now. The first thing I noticed was this head is way heavier than the typical Consew’s. I slid my hand under the foot assembly and you can’t do that with a Consew.

Yes but I am surprised it is not in the manual.
I am mistaken…yes…two places on top to oil
before each use…the red dot and the round plastic container. Thank you for your video. I refer to it quite often!
Donde comprar ese
hilo que usas the tread?

How does this machine do sewing thru 6 layers of vinyl? Does the stitching skip?
That would be this machine's bread and butter and no, there will be no skipped stitches provided it is properly running. ruclips.net/video/sBavkfataiM/видео.html
@@AlexanderDyer thank you. Really enjoy your videos.
Any advice?
Some people work on their cars and others take their cars to the mechanic. Same with sewing machines.
Any suggestions Why would I have a big drag on my hand wheel , just to bring my the wheel forward and backwards is hard to do , I have servo motor , with the belt off there is a drag but worst with the belt on
The motor has a brake. A slight press of the pedal will release it. Not sure why your machine alone would drag, again check with your dealer.
Change the needle and make sure it is threaded in the correct direction. A new needle can do wonders.
Can I load a bobbin while I am NOT sewing?
Yep yep. Unthread the needle and lift the foot first.
Here is me making some corner block spacers. ruclips.net/video/sThiub95oi4/видео.html
@@AlexanderDyer Thanks, we used the ones that came with it. We'll probably add more to it to make it a little higher if it seems to be an issue when changing the bobbin.
@@AlexanderDyer Thank you!
I bought my machine brand new it did not come with all 3 of the oil plugs in the oil reservoir , I only have one where can I get 3 more I will replace all plugs
Not sure where you got your machine but usually that is a good place to start. If not then try hendersonsewing.com
I can not download the manual
Sorry, I checked the links and they are working for me.
You dont need weight to start winding just put thread in the bobin holder cut and push it inside with bobin
hah, this thing provides oil the exact same way as my Hammond B tone generator.
This is the best video I've seen so far !!!!!!!!$24554393456098u
