Great breakdown… Greg is probably the best in mainstream media at what he does… keep putting in the work & doing your due diligence for each team… it’s appreciated & refreshing to see
ND backup QB was hands down the MVP of this game crazy. Was really a fun game to watch. The ZEBRAS were horrible as well. Whoever was in control of the game clock should not be returning either
@kylewebb469 yes. Thats true for any team that wins this year ND, OSU and Texas will all have had to have 4 wins in a row over teams who are either Conference Champs or top 10 teams. No other team in history will have had a more difficult path to be champs than any of these teams.
ND has been doing this all season. It's been next man up and find a way to win. The NIU loss was a blessing and cauterized this team into being a complete unit. Great Game. Great year! Love the Freeman Era! Go Irish!
@ my point is other teams performed exactly the same against those WR which points to a WR problem and not a defense-led result. It’s evident based on the year-long feedback from the unit. I was at the game lol. I know what I saw.
@@josiel.delgadilloND still wins games against a heavy passing offense... check the USC game. Sure, USC defense isn't that good. That's why USC didn't advance. Same reason why PSU didn't advance. You have a weakness. PSU is still a good team but you have a weakness that cost you the gave. Nothing wrong with that
Nice call about Drew Allar doesn't make mistakes right before he throws an INT. Allar is terrible under pressure, and it showed in the biggest moment for PSU.
I remember hearing this live and thinking he's thrown 2 picks already tonight that were undone by penalties. Not to mention his throws were off all night. I thought maybe I was watching a different game lol.
The Irish D in the 1st H did not look as intense and as no holds barred as they had against Georgia. In the 2nd H, the intensity came back and they tackled better.
Numba 10, Tyler Warren and Abdul Carter (yes he missed the tackle/strip that allowed a TD but they could only do so much. WHOEVER thinks Allar was nfl ready and could be the first one gone he went this year is crazy
Not going to lie, I’d like my son to play for Ol McElroy…he will make a GREAT coach if he decides that path, but he is the GOAT in CFB Media right now…no one even close to
Greg saying that the pass interference on Notre Dame when they got the interception was a joke. Made him sound like a joke. Like he was announcing something he didn't see...
Wow what an epic game! As an Irish fan I was exhausted afterwards like I had played! 😆 I didn't wake up till 10 minutes before I had to get the kid to school! I did disagree w your take on notre dames 2nd pi. After letting both teams play physical the whole game and allar underthrowing that pass by 7 yds, I thought it was a really tricky tak penalty that significantly impacted the game. Any way, it's a true dream season for the Irish that we've been waiting for for 31 years. 1 more to get, hopefully against texas 🙏!! GO IRISH
Was that the one in the endzone? Because that one was 100% PI. Defender never turned to see the ball and ran the receiver over. I was annoyed, being an Irish fan, but upon replay I saw that the call was completely correct.
Greg, ND fan here. Just wanted to say thanks for your working calling ND games the past few weeks. It’s been the highest quality calls of ND games all year IMO; your knowledge of the game/situations live has made the games even more enjoyable. Also appreciate that you’ve been really unbiased (I think you’ve rightly called out when ND has had some struggles and also given credit when due). doing this post game in the early hours is legend.
Greg's been on the call (I believe) all three ND playoff games and he's right; ND did not play their best football. Out of these three playoff games ND has played, this game has been their worst. So everyone that is mentioning (based on this game) that ND will get boat raced in the Natty, just know they have the potential to play a lot better because they have done so in the past. A lot, in my opinion, depends on rest and being able to come out firing earlier in the national championship game.
Superhero effort by ND. ND was injured, gassed and dealing with Flu. Penn state had two extra days of rest and played group of 5 teams the past two games.
Singleton should've made the catch at the 1. It wasn't that bad of a pass. This ESPN guy didn't fault the receiver AT ALL, and he had both hands on the ball !!
This guy is a red apologist. How does this guy still not know that face guarding is allowed on college but not the NFL. Also that was NOT pass interference on Warren. Refs were brutal all game.
Sorry but the game coverage was not great. To say that Penn State should be aggressive inside the last minute, when Allar passes were late the whole game. He was never on. Never. And then, for you to say that ND doesn’t want to score too early when there’s less than a minute left was a joke. They want to score whenever!
Good game. Bet the house vs PSU on any big game Franklin is coaching. Paid nicely. Hard to believe PSU fans cant admit it. Allars pic is on the coach. Dont put him in that spot. Go to OT. Your RBs are running like beasts. Terrible.
You two clowns in the booth are so full of yourselves! You clearly lean toward anyone playing the IRISH! I shut the volume down so I don’t have to listen to you two!
Love your channel Greg but I can’t believe you agreed with that last pass interference in the end zone. That ball was uncatchable but the QB was bailed out of throwing a terrible ball into double coverage
How does this guy even have a job? His voice is unpleasant, he isn't articulate, he constantly pauses to look at his notes, and he refuses to eat crow for his awful call.
Because he played at Bama. He has to mention Bama on every broadcast. ESPN is Bama central. Reece Davis went to Bama. Roman Harper played at Bama. And now Coach Saban dominates every gameday. Cant even watch it anymore. Prefer SEC Nation.
I mean ND dominated Georgia who beat Texas twice... So some weird logic there. Even OSU showed they're vulnerable against physical teams, which they haven't faced in playoffs so far
ND beat Georgia who beat Texas twice and ND beat Penn state who played Ohio State tight, such weird logic that people just automatically assume ND will lose, especially since ND plays the style Michigan plays and used to beat Ohio State
Great breakdown… Greg is probably the best in mainstream media at what he does… keep putting in the work & doing your due diligence for each team… it’s appreciated & refreshing to see
For ESPN to not interview Jeter up on stage after the game is a failure on their part
ND backup QB was hands down the MVP of this game crazy. Was really a fun game to watch. The ZEBRAS were horrible as well. Whoever was in control of the game clock should not be returning either
Game and play clock management was ATROCIOUS. Why is the play clock running when the ref was holding the ball? I’ve never noticed that before.
At the very least, Angeli needed to be on the stage during the trophy ceremony
No one can doubt their schedule now, no other team has beaten 7 ranked teams this year, not even close.
I’m sorry your team lost.
Ohio state is on track to have beaten 6 of the other 11 playoff teams
@@kylewebb469but also lost to one of those six as well
@joshuafinn6038 Yes they did. But if they pull this off it'll be the best run to a NC ever.

Penn St not completing a pass to a WR is tragic.. 😂
That ND secondary shut them down
They’ve been bad all year, I’m not sure it’s just a ND thing to be honest.
@@josiel.delgadillo Of course, it never is. Watch the tape, the secondary were strapped to those receivers.

Todd, you do a great job. No bias, just straight forwared commentating on the game. Please tell your co- workers to do the same.
His name is Greg
His name is Greg McElroy this isn’t Todd Blackeledge. He went to NBC
