But more importantly and thankfully, there were no injuries or damage to the bike...there is a proper technique to lifting up a heavy bike...alan almost had it right at minute 9:43 but he needed to look upwards to the sky and use the legs to pull himself up...feet should not be under or behind the knees, it should be forward of the knees. But GS is a heavy bike and the soft sand didn't make it easy. Good luck on your journey. Will be rooting for you both.

The key to lifting a GS or a GSA is to seat on the bike but make sure your butt is not lower than your knees. Look skyward and lift the bike by walking your foots back into the bike. Need to practice a few time when you are at the hotel parking lot.
Always follow these theory of owning a bike, “If you want to own a bike, make sure you can carry the bike. If you can’t carry the bike then don’t own the bike instead choose a lighter bike that you can carry.”

Not sure if the KM 9 mountain section has been upgraded yet, but that section of road is the most dangerous between Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang. I would suggest to add the word Laos next to the flag 🇱🇦 so that people know where or what country you are currently in. Can’t wait for next EP.
Try looking for fuel octane booster. Thats what we use when we rode up. Knowing that the fuel octane level is not as high as required. Try to avoid riding into the night. Roads will be dark and you will be blinded from oncoming vehicles headlights. There will be some areas that has a lot of flying insects that will be road kill by your helmet visor. Especially beside a padi field. Try not wiping with your gloves as it will smudged and blur up the visor. Making visibility worse. I experienced that while riding there. Ride safe. Enjoy the ride

@ Its not about the size Joy, it’s about the shell size. Some models uses only 2 shell sizes to cover Xs to Xxl, while some uses 4 shell sizes to cover Xs to XXL. For example you might be wearing S but she shell size of your helmet also share with L and only your padding is thicker to compensate the space. Hope that explain😉

These bikes are only good for asphalt unless u have the skills n knowledge n strength. Nowadays, more people opt for lightweight bikes, it's much easier to manage, n u can go almost everywhere. the way you lift the bike is wrong... Alan was doing it right earlier but i guess it is too heavy. :-) I got exactly the same bike... fall down during parking last time and i lifted it alone. by the way...did you change to enduro mode ? Maybe it is also a good idea to lift the bike during your free time. Set it down and try lifting it on your own. Not difficult but i guess the weight is too heavy for some. You are lucky it is not raining in Laos... imagine riding the bike on a muddy road. Laos is well known for that.
Yep definitely watch a video to see the proper way to lift a bike. With the correct technique a solo female rider can do. Practice makes perfect. We have all dropped our bikes. As long as you are OK that's the most important 😊
Youre carrying too much weight. Go through your stuff again and I guarantee you that there are some items that you don't really need. Learn to travel light. Cheers.

Next time, try to lift the bike with your back to the seat instead of bending over. Less stress to your back and you have more leverage. Laos roads are really dusty. This is the smallest helmet size😭but looking to change to another one in the future😆
