The U.S. accuses China of overcapacity. Here's what they really mean

    The petrodollar will depreciate like "a balloon when you untie it" if China's renewable energy boom leads to a drastic cut in fossil fuels, says American journalist and comedian Lee Camp. Even the New York Times reported that China's ability to provide low-cost green technology is "great news." The U.S. lags behind China in green energy, so it drums up China's "overcapacity." At the heart of it, it's the U.S. that seems to have an "overcapacity" of propaganda and lies.

    "Overcapacity" - a brand new buzzword for desperate, straw-clutching American politicians who are jealous of competence and productivity, and hate the very idea of free markets and having a serious competition.

      @@antpoo If there wasn't a huge need to use it then it was never very important. 🤣 In any case, the US makes it seem important now because has lost its competitive edge due to its undercapacity (a very important word for which there wasn't a huge need to use it 🤣).

    • @antpoo
      @antpoo 14 дней назад

      @@befeleme no overcapacity was always important. I remember listening to a famous economist 8 years ago approx, He said the most important thing about an economy is its level of overcapacity, Bar none. I never fully understood what it truly meant, I guessed it meant that the economy that had the ability to overproduce was super efficient and liable to thus engage in mercantilism.
      I’m just saying to those in the know, It was always important. But yeah once it goes mainstream, they buzz word the shit out of it.

    • @befeleme
      @befeleme 14 дней назад +3

      @@antpoo When you are a manufacturer, and coming up with a new product or targeting a new market, then you absolutely must "overcapacitate". You build a factory, production lines and organize supply chains. You invest, take a risk and assume that the demand exists (or hope that you can create it by a mighty marketing push). If you fail, your investment will be wasted and you lose money. That's a risk you take; no risk, no reward. There should be nothing stopping your competitors from doing the same. Obviously Chinese manufacturers are prepared to take that risk. In the last century it was mainly the US and Japan who were leading the world in competitiveness. The pendulum of history has swung: The Chinese have reinvented competition, while the Americans forgot about it and now cry foul. It's kinda amusing to watch.

      yeah and his comedy is based on real life politics which made it much more interesting and highly instructive at the same time , like a introductory class of what US and Europe are doing wrong with humor . Lee Camp proof beyond doubts that you don't need to rely on insults ,trash talk ,denigrate others or Sexualize things with adult content ,to create humor for all society of all ages ,that is highly instructive at the same time. Lee Camp is a class on its own , and is very rare his skills to do what he does ,to combine political activism , with humor and make it funny same time.

    That’s one intelligent American speaking from his heart and his brain. As a fellow American, I can’t agree more.
    China’s vision is for a harmonious, peaceful, fair and cooperative world. The US’s vision is a world in which the US dominates and reaps the benefit above everyone else; a world of chaos, conflicts, divisiveness and wars where the nation with the biggest guns rules.
    A tale of two nations. I know which nation I would rather root for - China, for the sake of humanity.

      The basis of the fascist argument was that Lenin wasn't poor AND HEBREW enough for Marxists not to be racist at face-value, and that they "see eye-to-eye better" with Hebrews (because they are interchangeable with Hebrews). So, if "Russians" have ties to Israel rather than Israel having ties with "fascists EXCLUSIVELY", it's kind of a "sticky situation" which can't be undone without everyone getting educated about the social standing of "Jews" during Marx's time, as well as learning about Marx, and then coming to the same conclusion as "mine" (a conclusion with no idiosyncratic attributes), which is that it's a sticky situation which obligatorily complicates the role of every justice system. Maybe all the tensions have arisen for this reason: a "proper system" was not installed EVERYWHERE by Russia after Marx. "Russia" has been claiming to be "keeping track of history" (one would need to be worse off than deaf, dumb, and blind not to be able to keep track of history) in all these post-Marx years. Is the concept of living life as a "Russian" really as much of a tightrope walk as others ARE PRESUMING it to be (The same Russians who can't even distinguish them from "Jews" any longer), for Russians? Because it's sort of a tightrope walk, but theoretically there should be no risks. This is why China is the best place to live, and why everyone obeys China's command. Escape from it all and invite me to become a CN citizen so we can "just live life"!
      The mystery remains: how can they have a history if they react the same way every generation (they seem strangely generationless/historyless) on the battlefield? It seems like "Russians" are taking the idea of defending themselves a little too far.

    There is only overcapacity when the production capacity exceeds the potential sales capacity. Nothing could be further away from the truth though. Chinese EVs are sold overseas for more than double the price in China. Not China is the problem. The real problem is that the US cannot compete anymore on a global level.
