I’m with you on why knitting socks is great!! I’ve been playing around with heels to find one that fits me well. I got some Flyers but haven’t tried them yet. I use 9” circulars. I hate magic loop. I started with crochet socks and love @CrochetCakes crochet sock patterns. You’ve made some great socks !! 🧶♥️🧦♥️🧶. Beautiful color work!! The cats are adorable!!!
Great sock knitting round up! I enjoyed it so much I went back and watched your previous sock knitting round ups. My favorite thing to knit and my most requested gift knit too! Last year and this year the gift recipients want DK or worsted weight socks and I am totally down with that.
I remember seeing most of your sock projects last year, wonderful recap! I learned on DPs (early 2000-ish), then in 2021 or so, jumped back in. If the 9” circs didn’t exist, I would have used the flexi-flips (like yours). I now have US # 0, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 in 9” circs. Two each, so I can knit a pair in tandem. Love Summer Lee! Recently finished “Broken Rope”, w “Gym Sock Stripes”… Fun! I knit at a tight gauge, and different yarns = different needle sizes & gauges. US#0, light fingering = 11 sts/inch. Decided to use that kind of yarn for camisoles or shawls or double for hats/cowls. Kroy is excellent for long wearing socks! Bit & bobs for cuff, heel, toe…yesss! Not sure I want to do colorwork, but if/when, only on the leg. Brave you doing on leg AND foot ! They are very nice looking, and agree, only hand knit socks in Birks …lol Bootees are sooo much fun! Quick ! Great for scraps, I have a couple of gallon zip bags w bootees… you never know… fun to give away! Thanks for nylon thread tip!
I love magic loop for sock knitting, but haven’t tried the flyers yet. Dpn’s were confusing to me after learning on magic loop and my hands cramped with 9” circulars. I say use whatever gets and keeps you knitting ! Honestly, I l really love the low contrast colors on the first pair of color work socks you showed. I’d prefer that over a high contrast personality. At least on camera the pattern does stand out in a subtle way which is beautiful. The Sock Knitting Bible is one of my go-to books, but I haven’t tried color work yet. You’ve motivated me to give it a try!
❤ i knit and crochet socks❤
So fun! I've tried a couple crochet pairs and I have to say even as a crocheter at heart, I do prefer knitting them. But it's awesome to have options!
I use very fine wool and silk. A B hook. I measure my foot from width to toe. To arch and ankle

Yes! I forgot to mention the 2 9" at a time trick! That's my go too for a tiny sleeve or tops of hats and such so I can avoid dpns at all costs 😂
I just bought those needles, thank you for recommending them ❤ I am starting sock knitting (normally knit apparel)
They are GREAT!
