I am about 70% done with book 2 in this trilogy and I am really enjoying the series. This is a very fair review, fairer than I have seen from some other booktubers, who have been rather harsh in their reviews. I really enjoy the way the story is slowly pieced together through the memory flashbacks. Certainly not perfect, but definitely worth picking up.
I hadn’t heard too much about it on booktube but I’m so glad I picked it up! I thought book 2 was even better. I’m so excited for book 3.
I see these every time I go to the book store and the covers always pop-out to me. I've yet to pick them up.
PS.... that Night Angel trilogy hardcover on your right looks awesome!!!

And I'd say the magic gets much better defined in the other two books. Part of the lack of definition kind of seems tied to the tumultuous history that magic has in the world, so as that is uncovered it gets a bit more of an explanation. Never to a Sanderson level, but few get there anyway.
Totally agree! Now that I’ve finished book 2 I’m totally hooked. Can’t wait for book 3. Honestly I think it’s pretty close to Sanderson level.

I'm just less than halfway. I'm enjoying it more that there seems to be a core group on the road and we've just encountered supernatural beings of some sort. Can you believe, I'm an Aussie and this is the 1st Aussie book I've picked up?

I thought book two was way better as well! I can’t wait to get to the conclusion!
I loved this book but it took me so long to finish! Some of the names get me but overall 10/10
The ending is what made it for me, I loved book 2!
I’ve read the first 180ish pages and put it down because I was bored. It felt like things were just happening... if that makes sense. But I think I’ll try to finish it.
I will say it took me until the last 25% to feel so invested !
Imo between 10-14 is when the book SLOWS down but definitely picks up after

I liked the story but I thought the characters were boring and aren't entirely believeable. Prose was also very bland

I think I got more attached to them by book 2! Prose was a little on tbe bland side I’ll agree.
She’s hot. I’m about 2/3 of the way through. It started slow but I’m really enjoying it now
