Thank you so much for reviewing this book! When i saw those pages in the preview screen to your Q&A i was blown away by the art work. This one is definitely going on to the top of my wish list! Keep up the good work man!
@7:49 - with the art work blown up like it feels like we're about to fall into that panel with Dr. Strange. I already have the original Strange Tales issues with these stories in them but, I would get this. It's wonderfully big and the art looks spectacular enlarged. History: Strange Tales started as a horror/sci-fi anthology book, then a vehicle for Johnny Storm (later adding Ben Grimm), switched to Nick Fury and Dr. Strange with it becoming the solo Strange book.
I own a few of these XXL books and love them but sadly don't own or have a coffee table to show them off on (maybe all I need to do is add legs to one and whalah!). Seriously I think I love these books because it makes me feel younger and smaller like I'm in grade school again and how books were big, beautiful and magical (no pun intended) . Great review Omar!!!!
So I've been avoiding these cuz they're so freaking huge they're unwieldy and I already have all the content... but... I should probably get this, huh?
I first read these in the tiny pocket book format as a kid. Today, I doubt i could even read the little letters in them. Now i will have the stories and art in giant form.
Thanks so much for this overview of the book ! Oddly enough, there aren't many, if any overviews or reviews of the two 'Dikto Is..' and three King-Size Kirby tomes. I do have a place reserved for these five books, plus the Behold... Galactus one, in my bookshelves when I finally do get them, though.
Huge Dr. Strange fan and even though I prolly won't be buying this. (Already own the omni and epics) It still makes me so damn excited just knowing this exists. Awesome surprise and a great way to start the day. Keep up the awesome work Omar!👊
I have them in the Masterwork edition and they are one of my prized possessions. Strange is one of those characters who never seemed to get that "classic" bronze age story (e.g. x-Men Dark Phoenix saga, Avengers Kree-Skrull War, Daredevil, Electra storyline) but these first issues (IMO) were perfect. Ditko's early stuff was pure gold.
Do you happen to have the original Doctor Strange Omnibus? I am curious to know what content other than the Amazing Spider-Man annual issue, covers and letter pages didn't make it into this book. Since that Omnibus probably won't be reprinted soon, I'm thinking this might make for a good substitution. Thanks.
Still thinking about getting that but I have the omni and that is fine ... will see if I am tempted when I am next up to London and look through it there. I would have enjoyed hearing more about your opinion on the crispness of the art as sometimes I think the oversized ones suffer (definitely the Marvels, for me, was dire but the Kirby etc were fine). Guess it depends on the source material. I think the work does look better in that format. Trouble is, like the Artist's editions, they take up a lot of the house. Great review as ever
Hope they release an: "Starlin is Cosmic!". Collecting all his Warlock issues plus Avengers Annual #7 and Marvel Two in One Annual #2 and maybe Marvel Graphic Novel #1. I'd love to see his artwork on these giant hardcover editions.
I am insane my dear friend. When I ain't got a job this is what I do. I try to focus my energy instead of feeling down on my channel and try to make positive informative content.
Great video. Really dissapointed that bowen never did a clea statue or many of the rogue gallery of strange but I can hope for the future cant I:-) excelsior
YES JUST YES 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 love the classic Lee/Ditko Strange run. Phenomenal stuff from beginning to end. Writing and art are just fricking top notch. 2 masters at the top of their game. I just don't know what format I'd like to get it in tho. So many choices and so many oop choices at that lol. Also the one downer about this book is that there's no covers :(
I hope they do a Steranko Captain America. Even a Big John Surfer Surfer issues 1-4. They should do BWS's Red Nails and use his colors he created when he recolored it for the tabloid all those years ago.
I missed out on the omnibus. This is a nice alternative but how big a deal is missing out on the spider-man annual? I do have the galactus monster size aswell. I love it but how do you store these books? 😱
Damn, that's a big book!! And I thought my Daredevil/Elektra:Love&War oversized hardcover was the biggest and heaviest comicbook I've come across but looks like this one will beat it when I add it to my collection!! King Size,eh? Guess that would make the DD/Elektra book a Queen Size... 🤔 lol
Ordered this the first day it came out! I don't want to see this go OOP and have to pay those 3rd party prices! I know it's been printed a MILLON times, but I would love to see some Byrne/Austin X-Men in this format!
Would buy those Spidey books in a second... well for JRJR it would need to be his stuff with Roger Stern. His Spidey work after that has very diminishing returns(like his stuff with JMS a lot though, guess that’s the outlier).
I think the biggest (in terms of dimensions) collected edition I have is the WEDNESDAY COMICS hardcover DC did. Is this even bigger than that? It looks like it, just comparing what a standard-size TPB looks like next to that and what a standard-size TPB looks like next to WEDNESDAY COMICS...
There is already a Spider-Man by Ditko in Gallery size (not the whole run) I don't remember if it was already published or is solicited for a future date. But the book exists. It's called "Ditko is Amazing ". It's not the complete run I admit, I don't know if a book that size would be too monstrously heavy. This book is almost 400 pages or something. The whole Ditko run in Spider-Man is like 1000 pages . Maybe divided in 2 or 3 books yes
@@Couick27 A Cockrum volume is feasible. Its around the same 300 pages or less. Byrne X-Men would require around two volumes, but his run is too popular it would sell in an instant in two separate volumes.
Dikto’s art is awesome especially the way he draws hands
Damn Omar you really need that Behold... Galactus monster sized now to go with all these. 😁
Just got mine from the lovely folks at Cheap Graphic Novels!
It looks so good...finding space on the shelf was an issue I was glad to deal with
Thank you so much for reviewing this book! When i saw those pages in the preview screen to your Q&A i was blown away by the art work. This one is definitely going on to the top of my wish list! Keep up the good work man!
Can't wait to get this! Doctor Strange is an all time fav of mine.
@7:49 - with the art work blown up like it feels like we're about to fall into that panel with Dr. Strange.

History: Strange Tales started as a horror/sci-fi anthology book, then a vehicle for Johnny Storm (later adding Ben Grimm), switched to Nick Fury and Dr. Strange with it becoming the solo Strange book.
It should've had the covers and ASM Annual #2 in it. For that price, it should at least mirror the Epic Collection in content.
I have the Behold Galactus, which I think is the same size. It's magnificent. Can't wait to see this in person.
I own a few of these XXL books and love them but sadly don't own or have a coffee table to show them off on (maybe all I need to do is add legs to one and whalah!). Add those legs, my friend. :)
Thanks Omar.
So I've been avoiding these cuz they're so freaking huge they're unwieldy and I already have all the content... but... I should probably get this, huh?
Really wish I could see a Steranko and Nick Fury Collection like this. The art in that is so psychedelic and wild.
They did do a steranko nick fury one... came out a few months ago I believe
Just what I was waiting for, thank you
I first read these in the tiny pocket book format as a kid. Today, I doubt i could even read the little letters in them. Now i will have the stories and art in giant form.
Your Best Video yet .... coz it’s Dr Strange and what a cool book
My man!
Love the format, would love to see McFarlane's Hulk/Spidey, Simonson's Thor, & Byrne's X-men, particularly Dark Phoenix saga and Days of Future Past!
Thanks so much for this overview of the book ! Oddly enough, there aren't many, if any overviews or reviews of the two 'Dikto Is..' and three King-Size Kirby tomes. You are very welcome!

I love the larger size! Better to see his artwork.
This looks amazing! But Thor 337 would be amazing too at this size- those opening full-bleed pages of Surtur with the anvil!
I must have this book.

Thanks.
Cowabunga minties 🤙
I’m a sucker for Ditko and Kirby art. Definitely getting this
The two GOATS! Their art had the biggest impact on comics and it was so colorful and poppy.
Damn, the lack of covers is an absolute deal breaker. What the hell is that
Well, he only appeared in one cover, but was hoping that one would have been included.
I agree. I said where the covers???
NICE! 😎✊🏾🤓

Ohh that would be a heck of a book.
Omar, do you know whether Marvel is planning on reprinting the Conan newspaper strips?
Are you doing two videos everyday now? This is insane!
I am insane my dear friend. When I ain't got a job this is what I do. I try to focus my energy instead of feeling down on my channel and try to make positive informative content.
I would love to see the covers where Dr. Strange was the protagonist. But, this book is amazing.
Great video. Really dissapointed that bowen never did a clea statue or many of the rogue gallery of strange but I can hope for the future cant I:-) excelsior

This one is an epic book. But surprised they didn't include the final cover.
I believe that Spider-Man annual is in the Ditko is Amazing collection.
This really looks beautiful but I am probably gonna go the epic collection route..
It will be easier to collect for sure.
🤔 lol
Damn that book is HUGE! Are those King-Size books as big as, or bigger than, an Absolute?
All the monster size and king size books are this big.
Omar is...STRANGE and always king sized
Ordered this the first day it came out! I don't want to see this go OOP and have to pay those 3rd party prices! I know it's been printed a MILLON times, but I would love to see some Byrne/Austin X-Men in this format!
Strange Tales 146 was a great Ditko cover, why would they leave it out? It should have been an extra at the very least. Thanks for the video Omar.
Looks lovely but they should've included the covers for the price.
Maybe a john romita sn or jr for Spider-Man in giant sized in the future
Would buy those Spidey books in a second... well for JRJR it would need to be his stuff with Roger Stern. His Spidey work after that has very diminishing returns(like his stuff with JMS a lot though, guess that’s the outlier).
When Omnibus is small format :)
I love that book, but these are bigger. Almost as big as the Nemo book.
That’s really cool getting an entire run that size, I wonder if we will get Spider-Man next
There is already a Spider-Man by Ditko in Gallery size (not the whole run) I don't remember if it was already published or is solicited for a future date. But the book exists. Danny C I forgot about that, I guess the only other small run to collect would be maybe the original Cockrum or even Byrne’s Xmen runs??
@@Couick27 A Cockrum volume is feasible. Its around the same 300 pages or less. Byrne X-Men would require around two volumes, but his run is too popular it would sell in an instant in two separate volumes.
How much is this?
Bought this without checking the size. Not sure what to do with it.
Put it under your bed.
I'd need the Power of the Infinity Glove to lift that Book !! ...Geez that's one Big Muther.
Hey Omar, what’s your opinion on Jack Kirby art?
I really want it, but that's just too big
For artwork it is great but for reading it’s not the best
@@thedarklord1964 agreed. And then, where do you put it? I can't leave it in the floor, my cats will shred it
kunider I have it on top of my shortboxes. On the top of a bookshelf would work as well
I’m probably going to regret it in a year but I ordered this
Dichotomy? Omar do talk pretty one day
