It always saddens me when I hear about Bill Mantlo. I read a pretty harrowing article about him just days ago that really indicated how badly his cognition was affected by the hit and run. I hope the person who hit him will eventually come forward and face the consequences like an adult.
Chameleon Conspiracy I have in single issues and WOW! Getting back to period when Hobgoblin mystery was hit, and Chameleon origin updated is really cool.
Speaking of Marvel Team-Up, I know there's a few paperbacks of character-specific featured titles & Black Widow's is probably my favorite, but I'd really like to see MTU in Epic Collection format. Also that Doctor Strange EC looks incredible, can't wait for DCBS to ship my copy.
Those thinner trades look so weird and totally not worth it, they either better beef them up to 8-10 issues or just go with smaller digest format which would be cheaper and financially more justifiable.
It is impossible to place when that Spider-man X-men team-up would take place - it had to be AFTER they returned from saving the Universe because Jean Grey was in the hospital and never hooked up with the team before then. But Professor X mentions the nightmares he is having (Lilandra the Shi'ar Queen) so it can't be after then. Also - Omar! You never read the Warlock, Spider-Man team up before? For shame! It is part of that amazing Jim Starlin Warlock epic that I love so much. :)
Just for info - I, for one, am more than happy for longer episodes, if there are more books to showcase! It takes as long as it takes, no need to rush. 🙂🙂
Hey Omar, I heard the Fourth World Omnibus Reprint will essentially be an extended version of the original printing. Not sure if that's true but plans on making a comparison of the 2 copies?
Just curious are the Epic collections now in color??? I thought they were all in black and white??? Edit: realize now I was looking at the Essential collections before!
I for one was bothered that the paper stock in Dr. Strange Epic Collection Vol. 8 was not the usual glossy paper. But it looksand feels better than some of the pulpy kind of paper used in some of DC's tpbs. I think the paper stock used in the facsimile titles of DC that is a finer version of newsprint, was very good ( Green Lantern/Green Arrow, Batman)
I would take either (both are more affordable than Masterworks), but omnibus is my preferred format. I do have the trade with the Claremont/Byrne issues.

It's borderline blasphemous that someone who is as big a fan of Claremont and Bryne's partnership as Omar hasn't read their Marvel Team-Up work yet. You're missing some great stories and art especially with the Havok, Super Skrull,Power Man and Captain Britain issues. Someone take Omar's 'Make Mine Marvel' card away from him. I'm hoping these stories will eventually find their way in the Epic format but for now I'll be content with the softcover trade and original issues that I have in my collection.

I loved that Black Hammer included their own Gwen with Golden Gwen. Almost a throwaway joke, but I loved it.

I think he was going to become a lawyer before he got hit. I think he created the UFOES, great Hulk villains.
Loved the U_foes. An under used villain group IMO.

It is really annoying how the epics' paper quality is never consistent. I don't mind what paper stock they use, just pick a lane, Marvel.
