I watch your videos while I play Genshin but I always end up just pacing around my room biting the tip of my finger in suspense. these books are so messy but educating in such an addictive way can’t wait for the next video.
1:11:05 *nods head* yes. yes it was what I read as a teenager. Thats why when some ppl say "oh, its spicy!" I feel like that pulp fiction meme with John Travolta looking around in confusion after I read the book. But to each their own. Im just glad ppl are still reading and there is still a want for ppl to tell stories. 🙏
I’m an artist and these book covers are becoming my new inspiration, and I am genuinely thinking of drawing the main characters from these books series just by your description of them
Fourteen minutes in and as a traditional artist, some people love having their paintstrokes be more noticable to add visual texture and movement. Of course, there are some people more picky than others about such a thing, however as of recently, people don't really seem to mind in the slightest. I prefer having both smooth and noticable strokes in my work cause they can complement each other quite well
I personally love the voices you do when reading and having watched all of your vintage novel reviews I think your accents are improving. What a fantastic novel. Definitely top of my list now as well. I am thankful for your channel and bringing all of us along with you on this vintage novel journey.
Miss Neri is back!! The Queen! Let’s go! Edit: the depth of this woman's characters! Can we start a petition to have Neri's novels republished for us unwashed masses? The fact she wrote in Bridget following Mary's pleas to be quiet for all those years is such an incredible way to portray trauma, which even infants can experience and hold onto! Miss Neri is a proper author.
I believe that Blue Beads was based on the life experiences of Cynthia Ann Parker (aka Nadua). She was abducted in a raid that killed most of her family, and was raised as an adopted daughter by an older couple in the tribe. Cynthia Ann/Nadua married Peta, one of the most revered war chiefs in the tribe. Her son Quana Parker became one of the best-known Comanche leaders in Texas history.
This might be my favorite too. 😊 one of the things I’ve enjoyed in your past videos is when you say if a character was in a movie, they’d have the most desirable role to play. Who would have a good role in this one? 😮
13:21 Ms. Neri’s that mysterious auntie who has a British accent and drops into random holiday celebrations with the best gifts and stories to tell. Then vanishes again ✨ I can imagine her wearing a big hat though
You are doing a great job and your voice acting is good. I'm so glad you're the one reading this book. I don't know if I've ever read a "dirty book." I read "Peyton Place," which was once regarded as such. But this book is just awful, like the details of a Diddy freak off party. It's nice to be able to get the gist of things without having to read something this horrifying. I thought "dirty book" would mean fun, but this is not a fun book.
How do you get so lucky with your historical romance picks? My library had a sale last week and I considered grabbing a bodice ripper or two but I totally talked myself out of it. I thought I'd never read them and it'd just be more clutter in my house that people would have to go through when I'm dead 😂
omg so excitedddd i have been waiting for this !!! lovee youre videos, youre my favourite youtuber right now. actually bought some of these paper backs the other day thanks to you.
I am loving this series so much. When I started reading vicariously at 11 my grandmother's sister-in-law started sending me her read harlequin and romance novels whenever someone passed threw her town to me. They may have been a bit inappropriate for my age, but they provided me such joy and promoted a life-long love of reading. Compared to a lot of other classic literature with female protagonists (e.g. Molly Flanders) they at least provided their female protagonists a happy ending. I would love for you to review an Amanda Quick novel if you ever come across it. It is more 90's romance but I think you would really enjoy her writing, and I know we would all love listening to you reading from it!
Let's not bash other Great Authors to lift up another LOL. JRR Tolkein and CS Lewis and others mentioned here EARNED that honor. So honor this Author and book that is featured here, and know that they too are esteemed for a reason.
47:11 ⚠️ possible trigger maybe😶 just stating incase⚠️ kinda sound like this movie I barely remember called "black snake moan". All I remember is a white women that's chained up and a black man takes care of her. Idk... I was a kid when I saw it, so it still makes no sense in my head😅
I'm just curious if Broken-claw's second was actually a trigger-happy dirty cheating scoundrel or if maybe they cheated on purpose to try and loophole save them both from that senseless nonsense 'cause they were all 'brothers'? 🤔🤔 😅
I hope nobody is actually complaining when you voice act, because I find it quite lovely and really helps bring life to you reading.
Been following your channel since your Desert Captive review! 😊
Thank you so much for the support, I’m really loving this little vintage book community we’ve all made.
On the Montana State of Mind bingo card, Milk is the free space.
I had 3 loads of laundry to do and a sink full of dishes to clean so this was just what i needed!! ❤
6:29 Googled to find out that Neri’s still alive, and 73 😱 crossing my fingers for an interview to come
If you ever got to get an interview with some of these authors it would be soooo interesting
i’m so locked in for this

if you ever do, make sure to send montana the links (if you post then publicly) to put in the description so we can all go support 🎉
Your hair looks sensational!
The thought of Blue Beads yeeting her medicine bag in Whitewolf’s direction made me chuckle

This book definitely tops Desert Captive! Loved it! Thank you, Montana!
Girl your hair rn is legendary.

I’m gonna track her down! She is developing such the cult following! She needs to know she is still loved and appreciated ♥️
@ she does! Imagine how excited she might feel to know we genuinely appreciate her novels, when back in the day they might’ve been ridiculed.

Yay! A new episode!
AHHHHH !!!! I am so hyped
Tysm!!! Got my nail supplies and I’m locked in ❤❤
I think you would looove where fires burn. It made me cry, verry well researched. Historical drama/romance.

"Men will be men." LOL! This sums it up. This book seems really traumatizing.
Googled Penelope Neri, looks like she’s 73 years young and likely still around!
"I'm a amateur professional" with your Mema necklace 😂❤ love it
I called my dear departed grandmother Mema 💝💞💕💞💝
My you look drop dead Gorgeous🌸
I love listening to your videos as I drive please never stop posting!!
1:49:50 I can't believe we got a whole news broadcast

I almost ordered this one off of Ebay! Time to get it!
Just wanted to come on here and thank you for your entertaining book recaps. ❤

lovee youre videos, youre my favourite youtuber right now. actually bought some of these paper backs the other day thanks to you.
What an amazing story thank you for review and retell 🥰
Montana I absolutely adore your humor and your reviewing these books I need to get my hands on some of these
Saw your video on my for you page and I love your genuineness!
I strongly encourage Montana to set up a Buy Me a Coffee account. It's supposed to be easier to access for both the creator and the audience members.
Idk who's complaining about the voice acting because I want an entire bodice ripper read by you. Legit the dream!!! 💕
Not Ms. Montana telling us she's a sister supporting 4B movement with her hair?!? Blessed ❤
you are the problem & I am here for alllll of it!

02:07:39 I love that the terrible sister in law experience is also something incredibly universal 🤣
First like!
Great reading and voice acting as always, I love your videos
🤣🤣🤣
I feel so called out r/n-I absolutely do just drink milk like it's a snack, no cookies or anything, sometimes.😂😂
We are so back
Title is not clickbait, this had me crying in my kitchen as well 😭

Your hair is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The hair is giving in this video
Penelope Neri's last book was 2005. Can't find a death date, but she might not be writing anymore. Not a lot of detail out there.
10:15 meeeeee even as a man (sorry about us) since this election

I cleaned my whole apartment, did laundry, made lunch and ate all while listening to this… thank you Montana 🥺🫶🏽
I hung up curtains while listening to this lol

Do u have an ig
