5:15 This altitude is only sea level if you set the QNH. If you set it to the QFE its the altitude above the airfield where the QFE is from and if you didn't set the altimeter, you have the QNE and as long as the QNH isn't 1013 hPa you can't use this altimeter for low altitude operations. (In the current version the HUD barometric altimeter shows a wrong altitude until the bug is fixed [I've already reported and it's on the fix list])
Totally amazed. The M2 is awesome. Your tutorial was great. Now, to try it all myself! If I'm not flying tomorrow, please send flowers to my (virtual) wife. :)
Nice :) I've just started trying out IFR landing also and found your video, with almost same weather and day time as your mission. :) Only thing i do is, starting out without synthetic runway, being a while i've flown a bird in IFR condition, i've been flying helicopter for a while, atept where not that bad, but still not good as i want it to be, i still got to practice. :) Thanks for the video!
Great tutorial, helped me to learn how to do this! I tried doing it with and without waypoints, that Tacan seems to not work without waypoints so definately need that. I wonder if you can create your own waypoint on an airport to create a full landing whenever you want...
The TCAN should work without waypoints. In fact that is one of the main purposes of the TCAN these days, to work as an backup to the INS. Please check the first vid in this series, I think I go over waypoint creation there.
Thanks for the Tutorial .. its very good and clear; and I see there are some useful comments also that provide more info. I've suscribed to your channel, and hope you will do more of this type of videos ... thanks again :)
Nice video wonder why you don't got more views there aren't many videos out there that explain this deep every step. I got a question though, the landing waypoint has to be set on the airfield's coordinates or on the runway threshold?
Thank you! Feel free to share this video with anyone you come across who might be interested. As for the landing waypoint I go over on how to set that up in the first part of this tutorial. As far as I know you have to set up the landing waypoint in the mission editor for it to work with the projected runway.
Pretty sure the VVI HUD equivalent is the two inward pointing carets on the side, near the HUD tapes. The higher above your flight path marker, the more climb velocity. Lower than FPM is descent speed, and even with it is level. At least, that's what a guide said. EDIT: Actually, I think those are the acceleration rate indicators. Sorry for the misinformation.
Nice video dude.. Do you fly online at all? We have a small group of people who are getting into the Mirage. Would be cool if you could hop on and fly with us. Maybe do some training, etc.. We are always looking for motivated and serious pilots who like to have fun.
Do I have to set the waypint in the mission editor or can I just create one in the mission itself? I always set up my waypoints in the mission and I never get the synthetic runway, even though I use the same coordinates as given in the editor, if I'd set up the waypoint there.
You need to set it in the editor, make sure you make it a "landing" waypoint. I don't know if you have to do this but I always configure my ILS and also make sure you have selected the "APP" button.
If you become disoriented in the clouds, you are simply missing the necessary skills for IFR flying. ;) However it´s not only preferable to only dive into the clouds when established on localizer and glideslope, it´s an absolute MUST! The ILS system not only gives you landing information, it also ensures there are no obstacles in your way down. Just diving into the clouds somewhere near the airport without beeing on airways, or VOR / TACAN radials / sectors with published minimum safe altitudes can easily end up you crashing into the next mountain 100 feet below the top of the coulds. In that case it´s also completely useless if you know where to look for your attitute, altitude and speed on the HUD, but you have no idea how low to descent without hitting the terrain. That´s not instrument flying, that´s called VRF into IMC and is one of the top killers in aviation. BTW: The approach was unstable. You lost too much speed, almost stalling the aircraft on short final and descending below the glideslope, overcorreted it by accelerating too much, leading to a landing way way behind the touchdown point without beeing able to see the end of the runway. So there was a good chance to overshoot the runway and to die at the next tree or antenna. This should have been a clear go around. ;) But to be fair: I can´t do it much better. :D
Never poperly Landed A MI2000 before those 3 videos. Thank you!

Ok, good to know. Thanks :)

Thank you! The more I fly with the Mirage the more in love I get with the aircraft.
Thank you for taking the time and effort in making this tutorial. Very helpful and thorough. Cheers 🍻

I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Great vidéo! I am french and I am happy to see that i understand everything but i'm not able to talk as fast as you did in the vidéo...

Hi, nice video :) can you get vertical speed indication (V/S) on the HUD on app. or in any other mode ?

Ah, A question, can i Switch the final Airport in M2K without going through the mission editor?

Thanks! I would definitely like to fly more online. In which time zone do you fly in?

Which runway/taxiway mod are you using ? I liked it.
I'm using starways texture dlc (free dlc). forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164817
Runway altitude was set wrong, that´s why you decended through the virtual runway and made your last seconds so wonky XD
I see! Didn't think about that at all.
Chrinik so, how to set that altitude correctly ?
Hidayat Oceandar With the altitude settings for waypoints in your INS navigation system.
Chrinik ok thank you. cheers
Press p for parachute
