there's so many things i love about this that i need to break it down: -ally's huge "WHY"s -the sheer hubris of "i've got it!" -"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET. THAT'S WHAT YOU GET" -brennan laughing and clapping to himself -the way that chaos erupts Instantaneously -the genuine anger in emily's voice -zac's mocking "oH yEaH?? sTaTisTiCaLlY?!?!?" -lou once again perfectly verbalising my internal d20 monologue - "of cOURSE!! murph's the ONE!" -zac and emily rubbing at their eyes in pure defeat -lou going "YES!" and then immediately going "WAIT NO I THOUGHT IT WAS THE OPPOSITE" -siobhan's enraged "of ALL THE PEOPLE AT THIS TABLE--" -"ILL DO IT ILL DO IT"
The best part is that she starts to say it a little bit before she could possibly have known he'd rolled low; she had a premonition his die was still cold.
You know what, nobody on Brennan's right at the table should be allowed to roll for the group. Lou's got cursed dice, Murph's got cursed hands, and Ally is generally unpredictable. My theory is that Ally takes all the good roll energy from that half of the table and saves it to pull nat 20's out of their ass at the most opportune times to fuck with Brennan.
Did Murph not remember rolling for police? I believe in that episode, he officially proved that he does not, in fact, have the same chance of rolling well as any of the rest of the party.
To be fair, rolling for police is just generally unlikely. a 1 in 20 followed by a 2 in 20, 3 in 20 etc is pretty unlikely. And besides didn't they only manage to last like... 5 full turns?
@@Sdogofdoom So if the other commenters are correct and Murph's last roll was a fail to hit 12, then the odds of him not succeeding the challenge would be 19/20 * 18/20 * 17/20...11/20. This is equal to 19!/(10!*(20^9), which is about 6.55% or a little better than a one in sixteen chance. So his luck is pretty atrocious, though this would still be a pretty commonplace result (more common even than rolling a one on a d20, and that happens quite frequently).
Remember how Murph spent the entire final battle of the first season rolling with an increasingly easy DC and failed every single time? Yeah, he's got this.
The fact that this exact thing just happened again in Neverafter, and you can tell he almost said the "statistically" line again before cutting himself off
I thought it was gonna be something for their enemies, so they would want a bad roll (because why else would the unluckiest guy Murph so quickly take action??). I remember watching this for the first time and it was like real life slow-motion hearing Brennan say how they wanted a high roll
Honestly the funny thing is that Murphy has been rolling for the group the most (at least it feels that way) in starstruck Odyssey, as well as lou having the awful, awful luck that season
@@oregano3975 it could have also been a two because Lou celebrated thinking it was a higher number and has “no wait- I thought-“ moment which just adds to the chaos 🤣
according to brennan, murph’s “STATISTICALLY, I HAVE JUST AS GOOD A CHANCE AS ROLLING GOOD AS ANY OF YOU!!!!” is his favorite murph sound
Do you remember where he said this 😂😂
@@loLFERBERG at 0:19
@yes Yeah, that makes more sense. My bad.
@yes yooo thanks so much haha
@yes ep 8 the one with Satine Phoenix or..?
i love that murph is so notoriously bad at rolling that everyone is immediately outraged without even having to see the result of the roll
His reaction pretty much said it all. They didn't need to look at the dice.
His wife first too! Emily said something before anyone else did.
murph spends all his dice luck DMing
honestly, i love it when murph gets a little feral. just a little feral goblin boy.
Honestly with how much composure he is forced to have to run naddpod..... yeah he can go a lil feral. As a treat
@@comfyspecs9058 it's one of the reasons I like Trinyvale so much, he goes OFF on that one

emily was mad before she even knew what the die said hahahhahah

“Why would you d- NOOOO!!”
The lady knows her husband
Murph's confidence, Emily complaining before even seeing the results and the Zac throwing the pencil are my favorite things 😂😂

Someone threw a pencil at him
@@MistaZiggy Zac did and it was absolutely hilarious
emily's sorrowful "why would you do this" before the dice hits the table followed immediately by "WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS WHY"
Love how it takes Zac less than 5 seconds to start throwing things at Murph
Emily's "why would you do that!!" Was such genuine anger
The best part is that she starts to say it a little bit before she could possibly have known he'd rolled low; she had a premonition his die was still cold.
Brennan: we'll need a high number-
Murph: YOU GOT IT.
Emily's panicked "why would you--?!" before the chaos begins gives me so much life. This is the person she loves and she saw what was coming.

Lou only had cursed dice during that season tbh, Ally must have drained Murph
Specifically during the finale of fantasy high, it truly felt like Ally was sucking all the good luck from Murph like a dice vampire
Emily's and Zac's rolls are good
“I have the same chance as AnEY of YoUuUUU”
Anyone else watch this over and over again to be able to experience each person’s reaction?
Yes! Usually it takes me several times longer to any episode because I keep doing this on all the scenes 😂

@@Sdogofdoom you forgot that, because he rolled it multiple times, there's a different calculation

Ah, now I see where the term "Murphy's Law" originated from XD.
Perhaps my favorite moment in the episode. His reaction speed was legendary.

Those watching D20’s Neverafter just coming back to rewatch this moment from Murph in another life. “Mmm… Still Murph.”
At least he's consistent 😂
i bet he's got one more in him, the dice have to respect the rule of threes
i love that, for just a brief second, the Jake & Amir/Hardly Working Murph of pure chaos jumped straight out
We love feral murph
Sometimes murph goes crazy goes stupid for like,,, 2 seconds and i am reminded that this is in fact the same man from 2014 college humor
Trinyvale Murph
Murph’s rolls are the handicap that balances the insane shenanigans Emily tries every session
murph, angrily: THAT'S FINE
did i just watch this 8 times to get every single persons reaction, yes
Of COURSE, Murph's the ONE!
They let him be crab king and he got a little too confident smh 😔
Arguably, Murph is the perfect DM-
He has NEVER ROLLED HIGHER THAN A THREE
this has the opposite energy to the one where brennan makes him roll three of them in ACOC
Never-after foreshadowing
my favorite thing is that this was happening live to thousands of people on twitch
Back here to watch this clip after the most recent episode of Neverafter
just came back here after murphs awful neverafter roll in episode 18 lmao
I've never seen an actual cursed person in real life until Murph 😂
The *instant* rage and yelling from everyone as soon as he rolled was just *chef’s kiss*
if anyone was wondering, Lou rolled a Nat 1 :D
I want to know what Ally rolled. Based on the look on their face it looked like it wasn't bad. LOL
It's Ally, of course it was a nat 20
“Of course! Murph’s the one!!”
zac throwing the pencil at murph lmaoooo
oh the uproar! truly magnificent
This is the most pure DnD shit I’ve ever seen
Love this Leeroy Jenkins moment!! I love Murph's immediate reaction to the result of that roll. 🤣🤣
This is quite possibly my favorite dimension 20 video ever. I’ve watched it a dozen times in a row just noticing new little things over and over
xD everyone throwing insults while Zac throwing a dice at Murph in outrage is perfect.
I love how Emily visibly notices the chaos going on around her and increases her intensity to match it XD

Hey I know it’s kinda unrelated, but what are ally’s pronouns? I don’t want to missgender anyone
Ally uses they/them pronouns. Their character Kristen uses she/her.
Of course murph is just the chosen one
Ally: I've got your back Murph *pats him on the shoulder*
Them, seconds earlier: 0:11
Which episode was this?
I dont even know what Murph rolled
I think it was a three. It looked like Brennan mouthed it right after Murph rolled
