Bought a low mileage dark blue ML55 with a few minor issues for 7K. Never regretted it! Fixed all issues I was able to find such as power steering reservoir, all coolant hoses, valve cover gaskets and some more. Kept up with all the maintenance and that machine never missed a beat. Best car I've ever owned and a joy to drive... Good luck with yours!
I run 255/55 on mine, nice balance overall and cheap since fairly common. I tried 265/60 but too tall, next time I may experiment again but 285 is overkill imo. Also for gas gauge I have a video on cluster rebuild, it helped mine a lot, it’s fairly accurate now but used to be all over the place. And your thoughts on limp mode causes sound accurate, check TCM for fluid first otherwise I’d bank on conductor plate. Glad you got it home in one piece!
I did watch your videos on the tire setup, I’m gonna have to run with the 255/55 because it is common. The instrument cluster I watched your video as well I’m gonna have to watch it again because it seems complicated. I ended up solving the gas gauge and limp mode issue there will be a video out for that. And you are right on those two fixes on limp mode and instrument cluster 😉😉
I have three ml55s one has Factory 285 58 teams one has 255 55 18s and the other has 265 60 18 the one with 265/60 18 is noticeably slower than the other 125 is about as fast as it will go and the other two I've had at 150 and they get there fairly quick with steady acceleration the 265 60 18 are a couple inches taller changes the gear ratio I took them off and put some 19-in lorinser Wheels with 265 50 19 and they are about an inch height difference improved the 0 to 60 from 8 and 1/2-ish seconds to 7 and 1/2 ish and 135 max speed and gets there quicker than it was before
Wow three ml55! Nice, just reading about the tire difference with how much it changes the performance is really eye opening. I would very much would like to stick with the stock tire size in the near future. I’m also thinking about what wheel size looks the best and feels the best with performance. Let me know if you have thoughts. I was thinking 19’s but 20’s might be too big and haven’t heard anyone running that size.
@@HeyboysGarage As soon as it gets here from California. The 5.0 is already out of the car and my 722.6 is also getting built to handle the power. My good friend is a Ukrainian mechanic otherwise I would never attempt this lol.
@@HeyboysGarage Just the clutch packs and planetary gear is improved on the AMG models. We’ll be changing those as well as replacing all the internal seals. It might have hold the power as is, but I’m definitely gonna do some performance mods in the future so it’ll give me some extra insurance.
Not that 235 tire’s won’t work but it’s going to change the whole characteristic of it, It’s going to feel wobbly and unstable because the the ML55 is big and heavy need that width so it’s planted to road. Going highway speeds and hitting a pothole while turning slightly will make you sh*t yourself 😂
I was really desperate for tires to make it back home on that 5hr trip. I'm planning on going back to the stock tires. I'm sure its going to change the way the car feels!
Limp mode hum waiting on you to fix this so I can know what it is ,cause I'm looking a 2007 mb ML500 ,and he stated car is is limp mode even though he said it drives fine but not much power
@@HeyboysGarage yes i have 05 mb clk500 , I’m looking at 2 Mercedes now which is the 07 ml500 and a 2002 Mercedes cl500 (which is basically a 2-door s class) this one has no mechanical at all and it has 128k miles , the ml 500 has 168k so not sure which one I will choose 😄

ML55 in this Silver Cost 3-5k Here in Germany. 6k for low mileage with good condition
Oh wow! It’s fair cheap in Germany versus here
Yes, but considering gas prices it actually makes sense I guess 😅

@@MLCLUBGEORGIAOFFICIAL hard tire specs to find. If you do find them very expensive depending on brand you go with
I knew I would find Anderzen here! 🎉😂
I dont know, I had an ML430 and that had 275/55R17 and the ML definitely benefits from wider tires
Any chance of some fly by videos (downshifting etc) to hear it in stock form? Ideally without background music. Lovely car mate.
It is quite in stock form! You won’t be able to hear downshifts or exhaust notes. All you will hear is engine noise
I see the srs light is on. Its a pain , common, but the modules are available.
It was missing a middle seat belt, back seats that’s why
we are waiting your next videos. good luck!
Sounds good, thanks for tuning in to the video!

Nice. I just got one of these at an auction for $625. It’s a sweet ride. Also got a 03 s55 supercharged for 1000$ a few days before that. Love amg.
How did you get so lucky on the S65?
We both starting off the New Year right. I just bought a m113k from a E55 to swap in my 2003 CL500.
That’s right! That’s gonna be a big project! When do you start the engine swap?

Because I already have a CLK500.
