Silky smooth -this wonderful pair deserve a much wider audience and certainly much more global appreciation!!! As icons, Ken and Barbie need to be retired! The NEW ULTRA standard includes Julia and Riccardo dancing...so smoothly but so attractive as well!!!
Their skills a brilliant but I just wished Ricardo would dance to Yulia more and not focus on the audience so much. It just disconnects from the partnership I feel. He doesn't need to play so much for the audiences attention. He already has it, Unlike a competition they are the only couple on the floor and there's no adjudicators, so you don't have to fight to be noticed. I think they have been competitors for so long its just in the blood but for show performances I just don't think its necessary to do it so much.
pertelote 45.Yulia is without doubt one of the all time great lady dancers. Yes, I too feel she has become rather too thin and bordering on looking gaunt. She to me is now looking over muscular and less feminine and rather harsh. Don't know if this is intentional and if it ii I have to wonder why. For me I prefer her as she has been in the past. Pretty much perfect.
@@joetesta3352 Perhaps it is just her age (I hope so); she is in her late thirties after all. She is a beautiful lady, no doubt, but not a girl any more. I wonder how many injuries (micro-injuries as well) they both have had to endure during their career. This type of dance is very hard on the knees (it almost ruined mine and seriously damaged some of my friends'), especially if you have to hop around in high heels for years on end. Every professional sport takes its toll.
Pertelote 45. Yes, girls absolutely suffer for the cause in this sport. At times I think that this sport was created by men, for men and women were only wanted because they make us look good. injury is a real issue in dance sport nowadays. It has become so physically demanding on the body that I think it has to potentially shorten ones career. It certainly shortened mine.. One poorly executed lunge and it was all over for me. So the fact that at 40 R&Y are still No1 is a feat in itself. They have broken all but Donny Burns record of world titles and I don't think they have another five years left in them to do that. They are still super fit and super good but starting to look more like the elder statespersons out there now. There's really nothing left for them to achieve or prove, So other than financial benefit or need for continued adulation what are they still pounding themselves into the ground for? Beneath the mild exterior they are both extremely ambitious and still very motivated by success. Perhaps some of the answer is in that. I could be completely wrong but time will tell. Cheers and I hope you are enjoying low heels and your joints are ok now.. Mine are crap but se la vie.
@@joetesta3352 I hope you are still (relatively) mobile :-) I don't know how many orthopaedics I have consulted over the years ... Since I finished my "career" I have had to be really careful because I never know when my knees start playing up again. Running, jogging, jumping, yoga, long hikes etc.etc. are, sadly, not for me any more. I suppose there are thousands of us, relatively young "retirees". I would not go as far as to claim that it is a sport created "by men and for men". I blame, to some extent, the coaching techniques. For example, my male coach made us run around the room in high heels during warm-up (he was wearing trainers); my female coach created a routine for me during which I had to jump high and then land on a bare knee, multiple times of course. She also made me train in very high heels because I am short (and have very small feet); you can imagine the strain on the knees which was not cushioned by the insufficient footwork. All the coaches I encountered were pretty merciless, but it is a competitive sport, so most dancers respected them no end anyway. I hope the situation nowadays is a little better and the coaching is more professional. Take care :-)
Pertelote 45. Thank you. I am relatively ok but like you I have to be conscious of my limitations. Over many years I studied under many coaches and whist they knew much about dancing, none had any real formal training or in depth knowledge of how to avoid injury and it wasn't something that was ever really discussed in lessons either. In fact, I was on numerous occasions encouraged to dance through the pain or discomfort. With hindsight I learned that wasn't a smart thing to do. Just to highlight how clueless coaches can be, I recently viewed a comp crawl you tube video of Ricardo and Yulia, where they were asked about injury. Riccardo said how they have had many injuries but referred to dancers as superhuman and that they have danced with injury on a number of occasions because it was too potentially detrimental to their career and position not to. They then went on to say how one lady danced with a fractured foot as though that was somehow something commendable, without even a hint of warning that that's only ok if you get away with it.. This is an 8 times world champion and this has to be one of the most irresponsible and ill thought out comment I ever heard. So I'm not surprised that as in your case, coaches do horrendously bizarre, risky things to their students, because they think dancers are super human. You and I are proof that they are not. Part of the problem with dance sport I think is they want to be seen as a legitimate sport, but they don't necessarily think like sports people. To a degree they haven't really transitioned from being artists because this is the way artists, not athletes/ sports people think. Its certainly so in my country, but I suspect its similar internationally, but dance sport is very poorly geared up to help, support and educate dancers in this important area. For all the money people dish out, unless you are one of the elite, there's very little that comes back in any real support. In my experience there are many things that could do with improving in dance sport. Sorry about the rant but I hope you and others find this of some interest and food for thought. Blessings and good wishes.
Здорово, конечно, давно слежу за их творчеством .Но Юля потеряла свою женственность, перекачав тело. Впервые не получила удовольствие от танца этой изумительной пары

Olga Rebman. I don't mind his style. From the neck down.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that this talented and charismatic lady has become very thin and rather muscular. I hope she is fine.

The world’s best dancers who inevitably dance to the worst music possible. Gggrrrrrrrrr. I love them, but please someone choose better music.
Зачем она так перекачала ноги..
Она все перекачала, не только ноги. Увлеклась.

Да, танцуют два мужика,причем тот,что в лиловом перекачан.
