Рождественское перемирие на Восточном фронте с Германией было более масштабным, даже офицеры принимали участие. Вроде бы не было с австрияками, из-за всем известного жестокого отношения к славянам и пленным. Не забываем, что и Гитлер ведь был австрийцем. Например. Пленного солдата связиста пытали офицеры, после контратаки его нашли распятым с отрезанным языком. В истории России это единственный солдат, которого наградили всеми георгиевскими орденами сразу. Это братание англичане прекратили расформированием и расстрелами. В России, спустили на тормозах, что пошло на пользу революционерам.
Война шла между родственниками. Все императоры были в прямых родственных связях, может только султан был дальним. Поэтому и называли имперская. В итоге все империи пали, кроме английской ставшей зависимой от США.

Great reaction. Music is good when you get your emotions rolling. :) Sabaton is swedish band. Most of their songs are based on true events, linked to wars. They are best historians today, if you want to learn something :D This was true event that happend on christmas time between Germany and France/England. And they went back to fighting after that moment of peace. It was piece of humanity seen between fights, soldiers did not like fighting but as usual, they are forced to. About first world war, it's kind of important if thinking Russia also. It was like a pre-event for WW2 and there was one big bad guy then also, and it was Germany. Germany lost, but all the countries paid huge price. It was in many ways more ruthless then second world war. But what happend in and after first war, lead to the second. In the end of the video, Lest we forget means that we should not forget! And the woman singing at the credits, is Floor Jansen who you have now seen couple times :) She is married to the drummer of Sabaton, Hannes. So... this is interesting to me... I don't understand Russian (so I use the subtitles YT gives me), but I am liking this channel more and more :D You got a long-term subscriber here (from a a guys in a country which was allied to yours in World War One; Romanians and Russians - the Imperial Russian Army - showed a lot of heroism of which you can be proud of :) ). Don't think of this event from World War One (the Christmas Truce) with negative feelings. Yes, war is horrible, without a doubt and should never happen, no matter what; but think of this event like this... Back then, in 1914, in what was at the time the worst moment in Human History, in the middle of war and death and suffering, there was enough humanity, even in such conditions, to say "It is Christmas! Not today, we will not fight each other today! Today we are brothers, no matter the nation!" I think this event, the Christmas Truce, is one of the most significant and the most beautiful in Human History and shows that even in such conditions, there's still good in us, in our essence :) It did not last more than maximum a week in some parts of the Frontline, but IT DID HAPPEN. (and in was tried in 1915 as well, but by then the War was too big and the high ranking officers did not allow for this to happen again) :) So... please, more Sabaton and especially, especially more Nightwish! As someone from the United Kingdom, I am well aware of this happening on Christmas Day in 2014 and this pays a tribute to the millions killed during World War One and Floor Jansen's singing at the end just finishes it perfectly.
Yep, as far as i know, this happened on the first Christmas of the war (1914) but didn't repeat the following years, probably by then the hatred was too deep and the officers too vigillant... And you correctly see there in team many Czech names, Joakim the singer of Sabaton is half-czech by birth :)
Artillery on both sides was ordered to maintain fire on the front the next Christmas, preventing truces since many troops had not been comfortable firing on people they had actually met.

При этом верхушка страны наживается на оборонных заказах, открыто шикует и пирует по столицам. Эта война - одна из причин почему революция, собственно, произошла.

This is a very small planet and the potential power available to be harnessed through collaboration and cooperation is currently being squandered by power games and greed at all levels of society. There is a saying, "those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it". The idea is that we should learn from the mistakes of those who came before us in history so we can try to prevent the same tragedies from happening again. If we ignore those lessons about humanity in the past, we might make the same mistakes over again.
2021 is written because the video was made in 2021. The video was made in the Czech Republic, probably because of economic reasons and because Joakim Brodèn's (the lead singer) mother is Czech. There were some similar truces on the Eastern Front, or at least both sides choosing not to shoot, unless fired upon. Between Russian, Orthodox Austro-Hungarian, and Bulgarian troops, there was an Easter truce in 1915, at least in some places. On the Western Front, improvised "burial-truces" were made during the rest of the war, even if noting like the Christmas-truce occurred again.

I know what you say....but as an ex militairy first as a young boy i wanted to know what war whas.....although i whas a bluehelmet from the netherlands.....i have been shot....multiple times....if you want i willshow you the scars.....but never the less....this song is about something that we will never have in our time right now.....we take orders.....in the first ww......they also took orders.....but at christmas.......all those orders are forgotten.....i wanted to have something like that in Irak.....my officier said he would throw me me out of the army....i i ever did something like this.......never made it further then corporal first class
Perfect! Respect to SABATON to sing about true events along the western front lines when German, British, French and other soldiers involved in the battles decided to celebrate Christmas together. They sang Christmas carols, exchanged presents, played football, etc. Unfortunately, the next year, 1915, they were forbidden to do the same by higher commands.

Рождественское перемирие было только в 1914 году.Прошло менее полугода с начала войны.После этого подобных перемирий не происходило так как пропаганда расчеловечивала противника.О никаких перемириях уже речь не шла.

I know you said you aren't very interested in history, but if you decide to watch more songs from Sabaton then I have two suggestions for you. First from WW1 "The Attack Of The Dead Men", It's the story of Russian soldiers heroically defending a fort against the Germans even after having being gassed without having any gas masks (there are Russian subtitles available). Secondly from WW2 "Night Witches - Animated STORY Video", (Russian subtitles available) It's about the all female Russian 588th night bomber regiment, very impressive women, very impressive indeed. А на тему того что они стали стрелять друг в друга - такие подразделения потом расформировывали, потому что они и не могли стрелять в недавних врагов. The generals on both sides were furious and never allowed it to happen again . The troops who took part were moved to areas where the fighting was more savage and some were court martialled.

Brief history lesson the back drop to this the countries in Europe was a state of semi peace but not particularly liking there neighbors and this was still a time people had dreams about ruling all of or most of Europe. All they needed was an excuse. So the Arch-duke of Austro-Hungary was sent to Serbia. A Serbian ultra-nationalist party killed him. So Austro-Hungary now having an excuse, declared war on Serbia and due to tangled web off Alliances brought the rest of the continent in with them.

В канун рождества один немецкий солдат начал петь на английском языке, или поздравил кого-то по-английски (если не ошибаюсь воевали с британцами), и потом синхронно вышли из окопов и решили так отпраздновать рождество. Сыграли в футбол, обменялись марками и прочее. А потом, да, снова в окопы и снова война. Очень на слезу пробивает. НУ прикинь, сейчас ты даришь своему немецкому товарищу поздравление с рождеством, а завтра должен его убить, потому что большие дяди так приказали (типа вашего хуйла, то есть путина, хотя слова "путин" и "хуйло" сейчас синонимы). Russia did take part in WW1 on the allied side. Sabaton made a song about Russia’s defence of Osowiec Fortress on 6th August 1915. The events of that day are probably too horrific for you but Russian troops showed incredible resilience, courage, determination and strength to rise up and charge despite suffering injuries that were fatal for the majority of them. The German soldiers were so terrified at the sight of it that they turned and fled. Russia’s countercharge and therefore sabaton’s song are known as “attack of the dead men.” Best wishes from Australia
Oh and when they did start fighting again, the vast majority of soldiers on both sides were deliberately aiming their guns too high to avoid hitting anyone. The officers hated that so much that the soldiers were transferred over to different positions so they weren’t up against people they met and the next Christmas they ordered artillery barrages so soldiers were forced to stay in their trenches. Anyone that thought about making another Christmas truce were threatened with court marshalling.
Actually most did not. Many of the units and men who took part on both sides had to be relocated to other parts of the field as they refused to fight or would fire over the heads of the other side as not to take a chance of killing one of the people they now saw as a fellow human being and maybe even a friend now with a face and name and not just some unknown faceless enemy.

Short history lesson for Russians: in 1914 the Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary was shot by a Serb in Sarajevo. Because the Serbs are allied with Russia, Austria-Hungary blames Russia. Since all sides have been waiting for a war, Austria-Hungary uses the murder to declare war on Russia. Germany is an ally of Austria and joins them. France and England are allies of Russia and declare war on Germany / Austria. Everyone expects the war to be over by Christmas. The Video takes place at the time when they all wanted to be home, but there is no end in sight. In order to cause chaos in Russia, Germany lets Lenin pass from his exile and he triggers the October Revolution. Russia has to capitulate and the tsar is ousted. Modern Russia is raising up. The Kaiser of Austria wants to end the war because the war goal has been achieved, but the German Kaiser prevails and the fight against England and France continues. Internal unrest ensued in Germany and Austria and the two emperors lost control of their country. In the end, Germany surrenders even though its troops are still in France. But the chain of command is broken because it is unclear who rules in Germany. The two emperors are deposed and Austria-Hungary is split up into many small states.

This was true event that happend on christmas time between Germany and France/England. And they went back to fighting after that moment of peace.
It was piece of humanity seen between fights, soldiers did not like fighting but as usual, they are forced to.
About first world war, it's kind of important if thinking Russia also. It was like a pre-event for WW2 and there was one big bad guy then also, and it was Germany.
Germany lost, but all the countries paid huge price. It was in many ways more ruthless then second world war. But what happend in and after first war, lead to the second.

So... this is interesting to me... I don't understand Russian (so I use the subtitles YT gives me), but I am liking this channel more and more :D You got a long-term subscriber here (from a a guys in a country which was allied to yours in World War One; Romanians and Russians - the Imperial Russian Army - showed a lot of heroism of which you can be proud of :) ).
Don't think of this event from World War One (the Christmas Truce) with negative feelings. Yes, war is horrible, without a doubt and should never happen, no matter what; but think of this event like this... Back then, in 1914, in what was at the time the worst moment in Human History, in the middle of war and death and suffering, there was enough humanity, even in such conditions, to say "It is Christmas! Not today, we will not fight each other today! Today we are brothers, no matter the nation!" I think this event, the Christmas Truce, is one of the most significant and the most beautiful in Human History and shows that even in such conditions, there's still good in us, in our essence :) It did not last more than maximum a week in some parts of the Frontline, but IT DID HAPPEN. (and in was tried in 1915 as well, but by then the War was too big and the high ranking officers did not allow for this to happen again) :)
So... please, more Sabaton and especially, especially more Nightwish!

As someone from the United Kingdom, I am well aware of this happening on Christmas Day in 2014 and this pays a tribute to the millions killed during World War One and Floor Jansen's singing at the end just finishes it perfectly.

Yep, as far as i know, this happened on the first Christmas of the war (1914) but didn't repeat the following years, probably by then the hatred was too deep and the officers too vigillant...

This is a very small planet and the potential power available to be harnessed through collaboration and cooperation is currently being squandered by power games and greed at all levels of society. I do have hope though that somehow we'll learn before we do irreparable harm to ourselves as a species and the multitudes of other species we seem currently hell-bent on destroying along with us.
Your reaction was so similar to my own in that it hurt my heart to see it; I tear up every time I see hear this song and see the video. But this song and the attendant video was brilliant and hopefully will contribute in some small way to people becoming conscious of some of the history where something good came amongst all the bad and maybe influence their thinking going forward.

2021 is written because the video was made in 2021. The video was made in the Czech Republic, probably because of economic reasons and because Joakim Brodèn's (the lead singer) mother is Czech.
There were some similar truces on the Eastern Front, or at least both sides choosing not to shoot, unless fired upon. Between Russian, Orthodox Austro-Hungarian, and Bulgarian troops, there was an Easter truce in 1915, at least in some places. On the Western Front, improvised "burial-truces" were made during the rest of the war, even if noting like the Christmas-truce occurred again.

Perfect! Respect to SABATON to sing about true events along the western front lines when German, British, French and other soldiers involved in the battles decided to celebrate Christmas together. They sang Christmas carols, exchanged presents, played football, etc. Unfortunately, the next year, 1915, they were forbidden to do the same by higher commands.

I know you said you aren't very interested in history, but if you decide to watch more songs from Sabaton then I have two suggestions for you. First from WW1 "The Attack Of The Dead Men", It's the story of Russian soldiers heroically defending a fort against the Germans even after having being gassed without having any gas masks (there are Russian subtitles available). Secondly from WW2 "Night Witches - Animated STORY Video", (Russian subtitles available) It's about the all female Russian 588th night bomber regiment, very impressive women, very impressive indeed. Sabaton is a famous Swedish power metal band. Military history is their main theme, each of their songs is about a real historical event. They make songs about any nation and about any era, from the Thermopylae defense to modern Middle East conflicts. Sabaton doesn't glorify the war, doesn't take sides and doesn't promote any political views. They only praise the valor, honor and courage of soldiers of all eras, mourn fallen soldiers and tell stories that should be remembered forever. Their music makes you feel patriotic of any country, even you didn't know about it a minute ago.

А на тему того что они стали стрелять друг в друга - такие подразделения потом расформировывали, потому что они и не могли стрелять в недавних врагов. Так что там можно предположить что стреляют они уже не друг в друга. Или же - стреляют но мимо. Солдаты потом на многие ухищрения шли

The generals on both sides were furious and never allowed it to happen again . The troops who took part were moved to areas where the fighting was more savage and some were court martialled.
I used to teach history (for a single year). The best I could do to be unbiased was to explain key players, major events, and outcomes.

Brief history lesson the back drop to this the countries in Europe was a state of semi peace but not particularly liking there neighbors and this was still a time people had dreams about ruling all of or most of Europe. All they needed was an excuse. So the Arch-duke of Austro-Hungary was sent to Serbia. A Serbian ultra-nationalist party killed him.
So Austro-Hungary now having an excuse, declared war on Serbia and due to tangled web off Alliances brought the rest of the continent in with them.

Императора Германии свергли, новое правительство Вейнмарская Республика наконец-то подписало мир. Чуть позже Австро-Венгрия развалилась. Турцию тоже унизили.

Russia did take part in WW1 on the allied side. Sabaton made a song about Russia’s defence of Osowiec Fortress on 6th August 1915. The events of that day are probably too horrific for you but Russian troops showed incredible resilience, courage, determination and strength to rise up and charge despite suffering injuries that were fatal for the majority of them. Oh and when they did start fighting again, the vast majority of soldiers on both sides were deliberately aiming their guns too high to avoid hitting anyone. The officers hated that so much that the soldiers were transferred over to different positions so they weren’t up against people they met and the next Christmas they ordered artillery barrages so soldiers were forced to stay in their trenches. Anyone that thought about making another Christmas truce were threatened with court marshalling.

Actually most did not. Many of the units and men who took part on both sides had to be relocated to other parts of the field as they refused to fight or would fire over the heads of the other side as not to take a chance of killing one of the people they now saw as a fellow human being and maybe even a friend now with a face and name and not just some unknown faceless enemy.

Short history lesson for Russians: in 1914 the Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary was shot by a Serb in Sarajevo. Because the Serbs are allied with Russia, Austria-Hungary blames Russia. Since all sides have been waiting for a war, Austria-Hungary uses the murder to declare war on Russia. Germany is an ally of Austria and joins them. France and England are allies of Russia and declare war on Germany / Austria. Everyone expects the war to be over by Christmas. Internal unrest ensued in Germany and Austria and the two emperors lost control of their country. In the end, Germany surrenders even though its troops are still in France. But the chain of command is broken because it is unclear who rules in Germany. The two emperors are deposed and Austria-Hungary is split up into many small states.
