I have no idea why I like this performance, but I do. I caught it on late night TV after Here's Lucy and immediately turned to the internet to find it. Straight up lip syncing and fake guitar playing and I still love it.
Watching this show now, Desi Jr. and Lucie were better sitcom actors than they were given credit for by most of us back then. It's just they were always going to be compared to their parents and never be able to live up to that.
THOUGH, THEY DID ROCK THIS PERF. OUT! UNFORTUNATELY, THIS 'REAL' SONG WAS NOT WRITTEN BY 'CRAIG CARTER'; AKA. DESI ARNEZ JR.. BUT, INSTEAD, WAS WRITTEN BY 'SON' OF THE 'GOLDEN SMOG' (MEL TORME'); STEVE MARCH.
I love this too. Also have the DVD from the Lucy Show. Both were great!

Redheads always make a good combination with Cubans. 🥰

Keep coming back to this one! Love it so much!
Here’s Lucy 1970, Desi Jr was only 16 the week this was filmed. He had turned just 17 when it aired a few weeks later.... She was 28. Meow!
Young 17 ish Desi Jr. caressing nearly 30 Ann-Margret's back...that was probably the biggest feat for him in this performance.

In my opinion Ann margret the sexiest woman ever.
She sure gave Marilyn Monroe run for her money .
@trevor40 are you kidding? I LOVE THIS SONG TOO! I have this on DVD and I replay it a few times because it's just awesome! lol
A cute and lovely song
💖🌹🌷💟
I absolutely love this song and performance but it went from Country to Rock and Roll.
Actress Katy Mixon reminds me of Ann-Margret
DIGGA-DIGGA!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
you think the red hair gave Junior an Oedepus Complex
Did someone forget to pay the light bill?
was this an actual song? or was it just written for this episode?

The show was fictional so everyone knew Desi Arnaz, Jr. almost 100% for sure did not write the song which was terrible anyway.
This is terrible no matter what the year or decade. Kitsch lovers will probably love it, because it's absurdly over the top.
