  • Just a little vlog type video of adult nationals this year! It was definitely fun, there were a lot of ups and downs but I guess that’s how skating comps are 🙌

What does audhd stand for? Adult...?

Just curious why you found the combined field for the Artistic skate unfair? I can see the reasoning behind age categories, but as a non-binary skater (just starting out) getting to compete without gender segregation sounds ideal.
Also wanted to say I really appreciated this video. It's great to see other neuro-divergent folks doing well and with shared interests.

On Instagram she said she found it unfair because she wanted bronze as it was the only medal she didn't have from nationals. And if the guy hadn't placed 2nd, then she would have placed 3rd. Which, frankly, is a really selfish and stupid reason.

Because men and women are different. There is a reason competitions are separated by gender.

@@therese2301 In the artistic category they don't separate gender ever because it's about artistry and music interpretation. In the technical event they will separate by gender.

@@scifigrl23 when did I say it was because I wanted bronze ? I mentioned as a joke it would have been nice to get the bronze as it was the only one I didn’t have and they changed the rules last minute. Also multiple women were missing medals because men were in the same category when in past years they never were, idk what artistic is like where you’re from but gender has always been separated at the comps I went to, I think you’re thinking of exhibition maybe, that’s always been together.
In almost all sports women and men are separated, they’re too different to put together.
Men also are known to get scored higher in more “feminine” sports to keep them in the sport, I’m not saying that’s the case here but the amount of people I’ve heard growing up saying in dance or skating comps they will over score the boys is crazy, same as women in more “masculine” fields.
