"1 Month Review" The only kind of review that can be called such, first impressions are useful but not as much as this. Thanks for the dedication man.
Glad it was helpful!
I love my Scout. Bought in 2020, but I bought the base model specifically for the extra inch of rear suspension. And I'm glad I did. You wouldn't think that extra inch makes a difference, but it does. At least, that's what she said.
I might be completely wrong but I believe both upgraded shocks from Indian are +1inch travel - a lot of bobber owners like the low-as-possible look so they aren't happy about how that looks, but on the Rogue I think that extra inch is going to work just fine for most people with it's slightly different styling
Whaaaat...
It got 1 inch more diameter 😂
This has been the most useful review so far, I've been on the fence of getting the scout rogue for a while and finally I'm set on getting it. Never thought I could genuienly fall in love with a bike before. Cheers!
The Scout line is fantastic, but you hit the nail on the head with a few things. Suspension is terrible, seat could be a lot better, but it is a simple bike. I love mine overall, it's hard to keep any motorcycle stock these days, especially the affordable ones. Up in Wisconsin, I totally understand the issue with riding in icy conditions, and terrible roads. Great video!
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve got the Bobber with the 1920 solo seat and I think a huge part of the appeal for me at least is that it’s stripped down to the bare essentials. Super practical? Hell no but you can’t stop smiling while you ride 😊
If you order one from new, those things can be upgraded
I was not a cruiser guy at all couple months back, but after commuting back and forth to workplace with cruiser happens to be the best thing ever! It’s comfy, easy to wait on the middle of the street, not tries to kill me all the time! I love my 636 but dang i love my scout too
I’m about to sell my 636 for this or a chief. The suspension is what worries me about this bike since Pennsylvania roads are often time 3rd world country standards.
The exhaust is supposed to be all black, especially for the Rogues. Indian has had some problems with their coating vendor (black paint shortage) and they had to push out a lot of bikes with chrome instead. Some dealerships were offering vouchers for you to get them coated in black
OC some tech is nice - cruise control, abs, gear indicator, and rider modes (rain, track, custom). fuel gauges are nice but imo not really needed especially after you have ridden the bike a few times.. just reset the trip b or what not and u know how far you got left. lol.
keep up the fun vids glad you like the comfy ride.
OC: I am a fan of tech on a bike, but I ride a 2020 Scout hahaha. I wish the Chief's ride command would be available on the Scout
Thanks for the video. My next ride will be either the scout or the chief from Indian. I'm still on my first bike, Honda Shadow 750 2001. It will be a great upgrade and I learned with no tech so not an issue for me.
Love the "bike - rider" feeling this bike provides, the lack of tech is great. Power is awesome, size is perfect, and it is badass looking - especially with the 2 into 1 exhaust
One of the things that made the 2020 Scout Twenty work for me was that 26.5" seat height. It had that "floating seat" which gave it an extra inch of seat height. Made a world of difference in terms of ergonomics. The seat was hard and slippery, but the ergo's were right on.
I love the Tech! That’s why I got the Nightster Special over the regular Nightster. Cruise control, ABS, traction control, nice Color screen with maps and all sorts of info. The Works! I want all of the buttons!!
I love my Rogue
I don't need tech, so I love bare-bone light-weight cruisers. I'm small, so the suspension isn't really an issue for me.
The chrome accents are what make it look nice. Completely blacked out is done to death. But yes, this bike is a great bike. I really like these types of bikes because they are low and easier to handle. I really enjoy the low tech as well. Sometimes too much tech is too much.
I’m looking for my first bike I’ve always wanted a GSXR or CBR But I sat on a rebel 1100 and fell in love with cruisers and how comfortable they are So now I’m looking into the Indian scout bobber and the Rogue an Rebel 1100
Got that same Mercury helmet, love it. Also, really like the look of the Indians. Will perhaps get one, one day
love love love the style of this bike the one thing putting me off pulling the trigger on it is the lean angles. Or lack of lean angle
Thanks for the video. How do you compare this bike to your Sportster S?
This bike is great. I take mine everywhere. I've ridden it from Wilmington NC to Freehold NJ and everywhere in between. It kind of sucks at night but during the day it is a great ride. Mine is a 2022 also and I've put just about 20,000 miles on it and I haven't had a single issue with it. As my first bike I couldn't be happier. As for the lack of tech, my phone and Cardo headset makes up the difference.
I have a Rogue 60 and 78 HP is no slouch either. But bigger is probably better. 😊
I wrapped my wife's pipes, and it looks awesome! Also not a chrome fan.
Appreciate the vid. I've been looking for something with better leg spacing / confortability. I'm 6'2" and my fz09 isn't cutting it anymore. I was originally interested but even with you at 5'10 your legs are up kindof high in the riding position. Gonna pass on this and look at other options. Thanks
OC: The amount of tech I like/need depends on the kind of bike I’m on. In this particular case of cruisers, I’m fine with just ABS and a low price point.
Oc. I'm here for the review!
You should try the Indian Springfield Dark Horse. It’s a thiccc boi but you’d be surprised at how well it handles and the power delivery. It’s definitely my favorite of the Indian lineup.
For the suspension there are some RUclips videos on how to adjust it. I'll try to find links but if i remember right jimbobington Ricky bobber moto and rembo USMC made a video on the topics. It really helps with bumps on your ride. I had a back injury and it helped me enjoy my 2019 scout. I also went with the standard scout for that extra inch as well but suspension adjustment might be something to try before you send it back to see if it helps. Also how do you like the quarter fairing for highway commuting? You mentioned it a bit on your first ride but after a month is it a liveable or is it a comfortable kind of thing for you? Edit: added links to suspension adjustment videos and to the first ride for the Indian scout/rouge videos.
One thing I’ve learned is to just make sure the preload is set correct on the shocks it’s supposed to be 275mm or like 10.5”
I like knowing what's going on with my bike. I'm glad I can check my RPMs, Temperature, and trip odometer on my Scout. However, I'm also glad those things aren't constantly being flashed at me as well. I prefer the analog speedometer over a digital one. The only other tech needed on my Scout is a gas gauge. Nothing else is needed.
Does it have a gas gauge? I couldn't tell by your comment
@@nikkowood7465 no it doesn't have one factory But indian and others sell a mod for that. As well as a mod for a tachometer. It kinda looks like this>> oOo
@@nikkowood7465 unfortunately, it does not have a gas gauge.
And cruise control would be nice
OC! Also I don’t mind tech on a commuter or road trip bike…there are enough dangers on the road with traffic…so anything to keep us riding longer works…but I don’t like it on the track or any performance situation…then I just want a pure riding experience
They have logistics issues from pandemic, heat shields are supposed to be black in Rogue - but to get them shipped out they used chrome. My Rogue I got black - ordered 3/2022 and picked up special order late 7/2022.
I was surprised by how much improvement re padding the single seat made. I wanted to keep the Indian seat logo so reshaped the front edges, filled in the centre with some firmer padding( stock padding is very soft) and re shaped the back. Yes I’d like upgrade shocks but it’s not as important now with the seat improvement.
1000% agree, don't like the chrome pipe covers on a blacked out bike. WHY?
I have the exact same bike with black covers. Looks way better and I love it.
Was this meant to be posted at 1am Eastern time? Either way, I'll watch it.
Bike was based on the Victory Octane. Great bike
I hear that a lot but the Scout was relased in 2014, the Octaine came out in 2017.
@@tinman3586 I think he means the rogue specifically
OC - haven't ridden much tech, but think it might be nice in some situations... I'm really just here for T&A (theatrics and ADV content)
This is gonna be my 2nd bike! Promise! My first bike is a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 😆 but it'll boogy fine for a noob!
Chase how is the wind when your hitting the interstate.
I like simple. I got my Octane and the only “tech” I wish I had was a damn fuel gauge
I LOVE THIS BIKE!
My '85 honda 1100 sabre has gear indicator, fuel gauge and also has self canceling turn signals. Thats plenty of tech for me, anything else just isnt necessary imo
ABS is nice for the newer riders ofcourse
Always loved the look of the indian scouts but with what you said about your issue being 5ft 10, makes me rethink of not getting one as im 6ft
I'm 6 ft and dailied a Scout sixty with zero issues. Coming from a touring bike and a Sports bike I appreciated how low I was to the ground.
Rather stick to my Rebel 1100. Absolutely no chrome at all. Also when I test drove the scout the exhaust was the only thing I could say was markedly better. With a new seat on the Honda it just feels like a better ride. Honestly though Indian makes some gorgeous bikes. 100% rather ride an Indian over a Harley.
How’s that bike? The Rebel 1100. I’m 6’1 thinking the Indian is too small for me
What do you prefer, Harley sportster s or this rouge?
The way I understand it, Polaris had some supply chain issues like everyone else and put chrome heat shields on bikes that were supposed to be black. I think I read that if the bike should be black and has chrome you can go in to your dealer to get it swapped out. Not sure if that is true, Internet....
Its true. I just got my chrome heat shields swapped out for free. I also got my bike when they were having supply chain issues.
Yes I'm loving this brand my brah 👉👊🔥🙏☝️💃👀😜👍🏼💥💫💃👀💃
what's great about the key.. I'm not getting a motorcycle I have to remember to pull out a damn key when I'm done.. it's 2023.
OC: I've never had tech so it really doesn't matter to me, however if I would have experienced riding a bike with all the bells and whistles, then it may be different
God, you can’t beat the sound of
My mate said if your scraping the pegs ect your not cruising to me lol also all cruisers have that slammed look apart from a couple of exceptions
OC anti tech, but I'd love some cruise control. 🤷
what seat is that cause my rogue doesn't have a passenger spot
I wish that Indian started painting som of their bike night blue metallic and dark grey. Looks so much better than black
Could someone comment on the size of the bike? It looks quite small. Im 6ft and 210lbs. I've had low and (almost) hard tail choppered spotrster LX evo 1200 with 6"1 axle to axle distance and it felt quite good and "nimble" sizing. The foot pegs vere brought forward, so legs were quite straight. Im not looking for a couch with wheels, would not like to be crammed either.
How about the fuel gauge ?
I don't think I would care about the lack of tech because in NW Ga I would just not ride the bike on a rare occasion that there was ice on the road.
The chrome heat shield is because indian has a supply shortage. They are doing the same with the chiefs….
With the Sportster S I always felt like I was sliding back when opening up with the stick seat.
I got the Corbin gunfighter and the curved back got rid of that.
Tech has its place, as for traction control it especially keeps the lesser experience riders from overpowering, experienced riders would like the ability to turn it off.
I prefer flipping the mirrors upright instead of dangling them.
Floor boards give you a bit more clearance
OC - Unless you have an employee who's gonna fix your motorcycle for you, or you only ride a couple thousand miles a year, the less tech the better
you can add the piggy bags. So it is way better
OC : I joke with some people that I only like bikes with 3 modes on them. Stopped Mode, Stopping Mode, and Go Mode.
Those chrome pipe covers make me want to throw up in my mouth.
But I love this bike. Most of its issues can be fixed with add-on accessories. It would be nice if some of those were stock from the factory, like the LED headlight and piggyback shocks.
You said this is the higher power motor... I think it's the lower power 60ci...
What's the naked bike at 2:58?
Yamaha XSR900
@@Robo0595Thank you. Gorgeous bike.
OC: I like tech
Tech no, I believe that it makes bikes unnecessarily more expensive
Ugh dude please signal when cutting someone off through 3 lanes.
Put a time stamp then dummy
I’ve never seen a parking lot so empty.
Indian has had some problems with their car and motorcycle are cool coating vendor (black paint shortage) and
“I’m not here for” you not explaining how the “lack of tech” makes any difference if you are riding in the rain. You’ve got ABS - That’s all anyone needs, unless they are racing, or unless they just don’t know how to ride.
Bro, you need to do a one-month review on the Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S if possible I love that bike, but I turned around and bought a 22 cam am Ryker Rally..🤦🏾♂️
Rogue -> no chrome
Chrome headpipes....cheap out by indian - indian owner
My Rouge just came all blacked out. Thank goodness. A couple 2022 bobber 20's at my dealership had chrome headpipes then I seen a 2023 bobber 20 and it was all blacked out.
The exhaust is so long its absolutely ugly it should not cover the rear wheel
First
Oh my geez. 🙄
You have a Chrome shield on that bike is because you did not purchase it.
in other words the bike sucks
My first question is did they adress the seat and the suspension I have heard this iz an extremely rough ride and why I did not buy one in 2021.
Im here for this
I notice the mount on the vertical part of the ape hangars... is that a quad lock? Anyone know if a quad lock will hold a phone behind that quarter fairing (turned sideways)? just looking for a nice spot to hold my phone for gps without being in full wind!
Fyi this is exactly what I did and it worked using the knuckle adaptor
