Please keep going and make more content like this.
It’s terrifying for people abusing laxatives and even after deciding that recovery is the way to go it still is very scary due to very little success stories about laxative abuse recovery
And the shame around it makes it hard for people to seek help which was my case
I abused laxatives from age 15 to 21 and have a very similar story to yours
Almost 3 months in my recovery from stimulant laxatives and I honestly never thought i see this day
At my worst i was taking 10-15 daily and towards the end I had managed to keep it at 4 pills daily/every other day
Now the smell of senna makes me wanna puke
I thought I would die young in the most gruesome, painful and sick way because I genuinely thought there was no way out
It’s never late to want to recover just like any other addiction this one is possible to
I still struggle with body image but honestly who cares how i look if you’re scared for you life each time you take laxes
My advice on how to make progress is to definitely seek medical help and ik it’s hard to bear the judgement of people even the doctors but trust me its worth it
My first doctor prescribed me stool softeners (i did as he said the first month of recovery )
My second doctor prescribed me probiotics and mebeverine which is usually prescribed to people with ibs-c and it essentially regulate bowl movement (it’s in no way a laxative and my close friend who has ibs-d has been prescribed this by other doctors )
Other things I’ve done for my recovery is that I increased my daily food intake and for some time my appetite was on the roof but even that has gotten better
Coffee , olive oil and veggies have been my best friend , and light work/out 2-3 times a week is very important and helps with bowl movement
Don’t forget to drink water as much as you can
I’m still very much learning to cope with this disease and some days are still very hard but I’m hopeful that i will get better
Wish more people knew that IT IS NEVER LATE you don’t deserve to die over this
Sorry for my butched English it’s obviously not my first language
    Stay safe yall❤️

Hey Wendy, I am currently suffering from constipation. It all started last summer when my metabolism just seemed to suddenly stop. I didn't understand why this happened, because I was a relatively healthy eater, eating plenty of greens and protein. I started abusing laxatives myself, I used them for months, but I wanted to get off them. I've tried other remedies, but they've all only worked temporarily.
I haven't been to a doctor because I don't trust them just as you probably don't. Would you still recommend drinking prune juice and ACV first thing in the morning for two weeks?

Yes, I would still recommend it!

@@WithWendyWin Hey Wendy, I wanted to give you an update. I started drinking watered down prune juice (so I wouldn't be drinking so much sugar), which helped a lot. Then I started eating even more fruits and vegetables than normally, including dragon fruit, which also really helped. I'm maintaining a healthy high-fiber diet and drinking lots of water. So far, my metabolism and regularity seems to be back on track and I feel amazing! 💪😊
