As a frequent Singapore Airlines user, I take notice of the "Keep your seat belt on" Advice from the Cabin Staff. Basically Aircraft do sometimes drop vertically several hundred feet. Everything in the cabin gets hit by the falling Aircraft. It's not people being thrown up, it's the Aircraft coming down to hit them on the head and upper Torso. Study "Newton's Laws of motion" KEEP YOU SEET BELT ON in flight, unless you are going to the Rest room (Toilet )

you are not 100% correct, you are 110% correct.
other media is doing the same. it is "click bait" reporting. reporting with a marketing for revenue "twist" to it.
fox news did it in print "boeing aircraft"..and the turbulence story.
they could of phrased it as: ""a well-established boeing aircraft (777) endured and negotiated severe turbulence and landed safely at an international airport.
but phrasing the positive and truth does not make "revenue".
disgusting of many media today. simply disgusting.
BS'ing the public right under their nose to pocket advertising money.

Keeping seatbelts on is best for safety.

the plane “FELL/PLUNGED 6000 feet in 3 minutes”. That = 2000 feet a minute. A NORMAL descent from that altitude will often start at around is 3500 feet…. which means in 3 minutes a normal descent would be closer to 11500 feet.
