'Newsreel: Gosport, Fareham, Southsea and Southampton 1936'
The first section of footage focuses on ships and boats, with an opening shot of The Queen Mary in Southampton docks and a comparison to the Berengaria next to her. At Gosport, we see the launching of a new racing yacht at Camper & Nicholson boatyard and an international model yacht racing on Gosport's yachting lake. The footage then changes subject and moves onto a variety of carnivals in the local area such as Fareham, Gosport and Portsmouth. Within all these sequences we see marching bands, carnival queens and a variety of highly decorated floats. The footage also contains images of Southsea motor races on a runway with large crowds.
