Love your videos. They are very informative and your presentations are very entertaining. At age 64, I've just begun to enjoy making old fashions at home. I use a sugar cube, and enjoy the whole breakdown and muddling process. My question on this is if you use a separate mixing glass, and pour in room temperature bourbon (I use Woodford) wouldn't that dissolve the sugar cube so all you would have to do is give it a stir with a bar spoon? Oh, for measuring the bourbon my favorite vessel is an OXO 2 Oz measuring container. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge thru these great videos.
Hey Clyde. Thanks for the message. Glad to hear you’re enjoying some proper cocktails. The OXO is great, I like the grip on it. You might find that a sugar cube will always leave a little undissolved sugar sentiment in the bottom of the glass. It’s good if you like a little dessert for you last sip. Try a barspoon of some homemade simple syrup instead of the sugar cube and everything will melt together evenly.
