You can buy tyvek envelopes as well. I was gifted some from a company that closed.

I used to make beads out of Tyvek and make earrings out of them. I used to get the envelopes for free from the post office (this was several years ago). Like you said you probably would not want to do that now. You can't see the fumes but after a while it could be dangerous. I melted mine by an open window.

So much fun! One of my friends, Zandra Cudney, used these kind of pieces for tails on mermaids. So cool and pretty! TFS the inspiration!

Appreciate that you like to experiment! I’m not a ‘schooled’ artist, but I love to play😄

Lyn Wittman thanks so much. I’m self taught, too. I think that’s partly why we feel okay to experiment and play outside the “rules.” I don’t even know most of the rules! LOL! ❤️

This is very interesting. If you have an office connection you should see if people would save those envelopes for you. Were the plastic fumes intense while it was melting? I was wondering about what it smelled like while you were melting it. TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.

Evelyn Rauseo I really didn’t notice any fumes. I have seen other people do it and mention fumes, but I didn’t get any really. ❤️
