As a guy I had a previous relationship where an ex was in dental school while we were dating and she was very focused, but as time went on I saw she was skirting around her schoolwork and even almost skipping an exam, and I had to set her aside and tell her - "I am here to make your life easier, not to sacrifice your dreams. If you focus on your schoolwork and need that time, it doesn't hurt me and you won't lose me because you want to focus on your future. Please study."
@@MariaPerez-fy5xk I don't think so, but at the time I was living in her country and didn't really have any dreams of my own, I worked constriction jobs and labour while learning Spanish so it was easy for me to say this, I wanted to support her because I attached my worth/happiness to her success and happiness. I actually was pretty codependent in this relationship which was why it didn't work out as time went on, but I didn't want her to sacrifice her dream, just cause we were having a good time at that time. Relationships are fickle and school is expensive and time consuming, I didn't want her to lose sight of her dreams because we were together.
Liza Weil screen tested for Rory, but didn't get the role, so the producers created the character of Paris, since they liked Liza so much. Despite being in her early 20s when she started playing Paris, she really embodied the driven young woman archetype well. I identified with her more than with Rory by the end.
While we were dating, I was finishing college and my husband told me he wouldn't come over if my homework wasn't done. Also, my favorite part of Paris and Rory's friendship is the witty banter between them.
Good episode! There’s a lot more of this yet to come in GG. I think Rory loses her identity with her boyfriends (and just in general) way more than Paris does. I’m looking forward to your take on Logan.
I love Madeline. She's always just in her own little world (made it almost impossible for her to get caught up in Paris' shenanigans... unlike Louise) 🥰
I'm not sure I agree that Paris was losing herself, I mean she still told Rory excitedly how she theologically debated somebodys grandfather, I think you could think of it more as Paris having a short break from all the stress that is being Paris 😅
Young love... or maybe lust and infatuation... is such a whirl wind experience. Its lucky people have these videos explaining healthy balance with love because most of us had to deal with the consequences 😂
I love wingman Rory! Their enemy to friends friendship is one of my favorites, and I'm so glad that Jono addressed that in this episode. I would have swooned just Paris did when he told her that he's been thinking of her. It's frustrating to feel like you're alone in your feelings. To know they're actually being returned is an amazing feeling. But, yes, Paris is losing herself in the moment. I totally understand her. I, too, have succumbed to Cute Boy Brain Rot in the past. I can also honestly relate to her on not thinking that she would ever attract someone. Hell, I've been a whole ass adult now for some time, and I still feel surprised when someone says they're attracted to me lol. I'm much better about having a work-life balance now, thank goodness. I won't lie, it takes a lot of practice and correction to keep on track. It helps that my besties know the signs and will metaphorically beat sense into me 🤣. Great video, Jono!
My day always gets better when I see that there’s a new Gilmore Girls video. I know I’ve seen each episode at least 20 times. I really appreciate each and every one of these

Well you sound like a fucking amazing boyfriend and human

These gilmore girl episodes are never long enough, I absolutely love them. Have a good monday everyone!
I can't wait for you to cover Jamie and Paris again once Paris is in college. That's a whole very interesting can of worms 😬

I literally can’t imagine Gilmore Girls without Paris.

Day 2 of asking for a video of Lane and Dave PLEASEE

The GG series is why I subscribed.
Paris is the definition of C-PTSD (shame)
4:20 at this moment it was so cute, I just thought in this moment what she later will do to Jamie….
Yeah, I still don’t know why they thought that subplot was okay back then.
echo echo Echo?
