This really did get dark fast lol. I didn't really have adequate tike to respond to this the other day, but it was on my mind. Some origin stories, whether Canon or not, really are nightmare fuel. It really makes you ponder what the heck they were thinking by trying to preserve this awful tale in a assertive story. Learning from your mistakes is a wise practice, amd sometimes the greatest gift a person can give another is allowing them to learn from. Their mistakes, but seriously? Why couldn't we just have a few wonderful tales and stories come about because it was free puppy day or something. Instead you can literally turn a children's rhyme into a crime thriller movie when you peice it apart. Not pacman. If dk became a ghost, he probably wouldn't even waste time haunting Manny. He'd just go flying around doing ghost stuff because he actually acquired supernatural powers finally.

What about the other Pac-Man? You mean Sean Penn from the movie 'Colors'? Where Don Cheatle, War Machine was originally Rocket, the leader of the Crips. 😮
Dude, the horror story was already there. It’s a game about ghost haunting a guy stuck in a dark maze and trying to murder him. No one bothered to ask “why?” until now.
Fun fact: The creator of Pac-Man made the game for the Japanese female market, as he thought most arcade games at the time, which usually involved shooting things, only appealed to men.
I'm doing a bit of trolling today Ramsey. Sorry, thought I'd just put that out there. Hope things with your health and such are improving. Jessy Enkamp seriously needs to come to Canada sometime and meet this one dude from around here. I have a pretty basic question that might not really have an answer, but it's really been bothering me. I thought I'd just share it with some fellow martial arts needs, and see what people thought, because I had a really good lesson with a guy, and I think inwas wrong about something most people are wrong about, and also came to a conclusion that what they couod be wrong about, could really lead to something that right. I know that sounds a bit confusing, but I'll explain. I recently had the honor of sparring with a guy that had a really unique martial arts mix. Iv sparred with karateka before, mostly just shotokan, and a bit of kyushuken, and a alot of tkd to. Reason being was with a pervious position in my job I did alot of traveling, so being unable to be at the gym on tbe weekdays, I'd drop into small town dojos and dojangs. I should of done some testing at a few of these shotokan dojos, to see if they'd just transfer my rank, because I seriously might hold the record for doing the most times a person has done kihon kata everytime they atteneded a karate class. If there was an award for the longest reining white belt, I might possibly hold it. The longest reining white belt that was sparring with the black belts on day one of attending. After doing kihon kata with the begginers. I just love belt systems. Just like the 20 year blue belts that must if lost contact with their original instructors, or live days of traveling away from them. In all seriousness there's a few guys in the city like that, and why they never joined a different club, that would probably accept their ra k and keep them going is beyond my understanding. They should atleast put some other colour of tape on their belt for every year theyv had it or something, because there are some deceptively brutal blue belts out there. I'm a fairly big and heavy guy thats been grappling for a while, and it's always entertaining when I'll be rolling with a blue belt from a quiet club, and I'll have side control, something I often go for, with my weight leveraged on him aswell, staying on my toes, when he just casually begins to use his blue belt telekinetic powers, which everyone knows isn't suppose to coke around until brown belt, and there I go, somehow sweeped, and I cry bs on that blue belt. That belt should be striped like a tiger for hours worn, but nope, it just sits there waiting pike a Venus fly trap. Thinking to itself "mmm another hobbiest, yum yum" that is another Pacman comparison!!! Those brigand 20 year blue belts! Anyway. I wandered off for a bit there. So iv had some experience sparring with karateka I could say. Not alot, but for about 5 years or so, I'd still guess that when inwas on the road, I'd attend a class once or twice a week, for an average of possibly half of the year, so even at one a week, I'd put it at 20 to 30 classes in a year, for 5 years. I'd probably average it at about 150. So iv had a bit of experience with light karate sparring. I also gave alot of karate a bit of experience in sambo. Most places had mats we could roll on a bit. Regardless, I never learnt what this guy im referring to taught me. He said he called it his karate, but a reality check would really just put it as his mma, or even "kung fu" because it really is what he's working on to perfect, and indont believe it has alot to do with karate but a few of the drills he found, which I found to be really interesting and bring up. So I spent some time with the guy. He's a great fighter, and I say that with honesty. I'm pretty average I wouod say, a long time hobbiest in combat sambo, and reining longest white belt ever ofcourse. He got me pretty easily, and the way he did it was interesting. So unwanted to see if I could pick something up from him, and I did. I'm a sambist at my base, but I seriously need to make more room for all of thr martial arts books I have. I'm a bit of a nerd, and collect them. That's why yoir my go to coach Ramsey, incan tell your a mega nerd, and I mean that will all due respect. Some youtubers are just.. I'll just leave it at that... there in it for the wrong reasons. So anyways, I couldn't help but see what this guy was about. He asked for me to respect his time, so I did so, and at first I thought I was going to be upset coughing up sixty bucks, but I was not. I learnt alot with just that one session. There's no way I could apply is proficiently, but it really made me ponder on tma and why so many of them are held back. It'd interesting thr way alot of what he did connected to. He also said he had aikido in his style, but I didn't experience any of his aikido what so ever. No wrist locks, no flying through the air. No, his philosophy on his aikido was interesting, and as we know alot" of its based on sword disarming techniques. His take on it, was actually put more so into striking, distance, and blocking. Yes, .makes no sense, I feel is rob got any of this info, he'd throw it into a mcdojo life episode. Trying to think of a way to say this now. Maybe because indont fully understand it yet myself. So he said that yes, aikido does have some good takedowns, but its very rare to actually get those opportunities because movement can be unpredictable, and unless a person's really lunging at you, and off balanced, like they would be with a sword, you won't really habe that same opportunity. Swinging a sword, and throwing a fist are 2 conpletely different attacks. As are most weapons, apart from katars or gauntlet style weapons, which in other cultures demand their own style of footwork and stance compared to swords and spears, so it's difficult to imagine that comparison working. In some instances, when a person went to clinch with him, yes, he'd step out of their range, which would put their centre of balance off ofcourse, and alot of fighters already do that as most of us would know. Every martial art should teach that aspect in the first month, yet many don't. He had some great points though. It would take too long to describe it all, and I might not be in full understanding aswell. Alot just had to do with force and direction ofcourse, and footwork, which was interesting. I'm pretty set in my ways, but I took a few things that might be useful. What troubles me is, he showed me a few drills for blocks and Limb conditioning that are great, aswell as timing. Doing a youtune and web search to try and find these drills come up with nothing. My belief is that tma schools need these drills. They have a few, but what he showed me made alot more sense, and had actual functionality while in combat. It was almoat similar to wing chun hand trapping, but didn't use as much energy, a d didn't try to habe as much control, or movement. The way i strike, I like to punch hard and fast at a range, and will often use feints to try and get a clean shot in, that really overwhelm my opponent. His style of defense is allt more optimal for close range strikes, and countergrappling, but it still held up good at range, since he will gonfor changing up the range to his advantage. There's no fancy blocks, just mostly mild shielding and timed parrys, where he capitalizes. The other drill we did was a close range striking drill. I was unable to move, but had to try generate power with just weight and momentum I guess. He would do punches that looked like they came from the elbow, but in reality they actually find their force from properly timed force? This is probably sounding so bad and bullshido right now. Indont know what to call it, but it's a real thing. They really are funny little punches, because you can't elbow at this range, and you really wouldn't want to because you would lose your center of gravity and posture. You cant put your shoulder, or hips into it either, the sort of punches iv been doing forever. It's just really sort of like the 1 inch punch I suppose, but you have alot more room to do it. It still has alot of stiffness in it, and it's more of what you can do with it, than what it does? I feel like this rant has fallen, but I need to finish it. So, at the right timing, you can do this punch, and it's usually open because of circumstances related to aikido striking techniques. I know how truthful that sounds. Please bare with me. With the aikido striking technique finding effectiveness, you can than enter cleanly, and switch over to a judo or wrestling grappling technique. Preferably judo since you will find optimal positions in this close range encounter to take and manipulate your opponents balance. He also sat me on the floor to practice this punching drill so that I really couldn't cheat and use my hips or shoulder. Was interesting. I guess what I'm saying is, tma might be really missing out. I dont know what his sources are for this info. He obviously has training in kickboxing and bjj aswell, but more than likely trained with a legit tma instructor or two from what I'm guessing. I asked him about his training, and he just said it would take to long to tell the story, and that he trained at alot of different places. That's when I thought maybe he just took and practiced a bunch of stuff on youtube, but as I mentioned, I couldn't anything really. A few things relatable, but nothing like the actual drills. What thr heck happened to them? If a person has some mma experience, im wondering if some tma training like his could really benefit a person? I suppose that's the question. If you feel like it's applicable, do you think tma training, with realistic drills is worth while for someone trained in base mma, say a sport grappling and striking form?
N this is Terrible. I'm replying to myself. RUclips wouldn't let me edit the comment for some reason. Anyway. Guess the part of the question would be, and I can't believe I'm really asking this, but since karate has been exposed as counter grappling and wrestling, which you demonstrated, and i certainly agree with, do you think there's any merit in aikido principles actually leading to efficient unorthodox strikes, just based on your current knowledge?
