How does this fit in with WebAssembly in 2017? Especially since the speed in 2014 was so close to native.

Very cool
Its exiting and impressive but I think this will actually maybe bad for gamers. Hopefully this will lead to more native opengl linux games but having games inside the browser will have companies put annoyances around them and then some day it will not only to trail games, then we have to play games in the browser so they can throw more shit at us.
