- This video explains
B Trees and B+ Trees and how they are used in databases.
Insertion, Deletion and Analysis will be covered in next video.
Each node of a B+ Tree is a block on Disk. The degree of a Tree is decided based number of keys and child pointers that can fit inside a block.

As a 5th year Computer Science student, I've watched hundreds of tutorials. This is the first time I'm commenting an a video. I'm blown away of your way of explaining topics from start to finish. This didn't feel like a lecture at all. I was actually having FUN while watching your video and learning about indexing etc. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication! You are a true talent. Not many have the "gift" of being that good in teaching other people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! With regards, a Computer Science student from Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece)
*i saw same comment in another video*
So true! He's amazing at explaining complicated topics.
Many thanks,I have learn a lot from you

I never saw any video at this level of depth. From HDD to Data Structures. I'm amazed with your teaching skills.
Thank you Mr. Bari! Another excellent video. Your videos helped me a lot when I took Algorithm Analysis, and now your videos are helping me with my Database class. +1 cookie for you! 🍪
That's so generous of you . Thanks for supporting 🙏🏻👍🏻
One of the best education videos , the beauty was not knowing how 39 mins passed and I wanted the lecture to continue

Universities should hire people with teaching skills like this man ! it was so simple but got a headache for a week to understand it from a prof.
Where are you from brother? just asking
Universities are shit
@@souradeepkar Iam from KL University
They hire people with PhD's not teaching skills.

I never comment on videos while studying. But I gotta say...This guy has a gift. Amazing work giving the background and application of B trees. Subscribed.
I am so very BLOWN AWAY!!!!! Oh myyyyyy!!!!! Sir Abdul you are the BEST friend every computer Sciences Student needs . . .Lots of LOVE from South Africa.
I think this channel should be mandatory for teachers around the world. They should all learn from this sir as how to teach their students.
- This man exactly knows what he's talking about -
Mr. Adbul Bari, that was the smoothest lecture I've ever seen on the data structure subject.
My kind regards for sharing your well-indexed knowledge of your brain!🙏
That moment when he said "this is data structure and this is dbms" 🤯👍

He is a gem !
Same! Mind = blown. This guy is excellent

greatest of all time ...
im from IIT Madras , our professor messed up these topics badly.
thanks Abdul sir for rescue
i have been software engineer for 12 years this is the most awakening video on B teees I have seen. Respect to you!! Thank you!! This is the utmost way it can be ever explained
He is unequivocally one of the best teachers I've ever seen. His teaching skills can be considered as a benchmark in computing fundamentals. Whenever he explains something, he takes as step by step approach. For instance, in this video, he explained why we need to have a multi-level tree, m-way trees, and then b-trees, etc.
If we study in this way, it's easy to remember things, as we can always go back in mind and recall why this thing was created. Also, I loved the pace at which he explains, not too slow or fast. He makes sure to re-iterate important things.
In short, I am truly impressed by his skills. Thanks a lot, sir 😀
I have nearly 20 years of software experience and I have never seen B (B+) trees explained as clearly or concisely as done here. Thank you Mr. Bari!
Wow! I have never seen a video or have heard a lecture where I do not have any questions. Now B-Tree is straight in my permanent memory without any questions. Thank you so much.
I did my DSA project "Database Indexing using Btrees and B+trees" and literally this video helped me alot to understand the basics. I searched alot on google , but not any blog post or youtube video matched to level of this video. Further , I took Abdul Sir's DSA course too and believe me It was the best course !! This man is amazing !! Thankss alott Abdul Sir !!
This is the best. Im a RS. Its the easiest way to brush up the subject after 5 years. Thank you .
I have read a lot about b tree and b+ tree , just got how they are created but never understood why they are introduced, but from now onward i have a reason behind learning b tree and b+ tree. everything is now Crystal clear. Thank-you and salute to your knowledge.
Hello Sir! I am an SDE II at Microsoft, I come from a tier-3 college and wasn't fortunate enough to learn all these things in a great deal of details, believe me sir, as I was going through this video I continuously kept getting goosebumps!! I could clearly visualise each and everything in the back of my head!! this is a sheer gift!! thank you so much for doing this.
Sure is comforting to know that people working at Microsoft don't know shit from fuck.
@@youtubesuresuckscock hehehe!!! It's not that way completely mate.. have been learning more and more with time.. not everyone knows everything, the aim is to keep learning with time.. and to be honest, Microsoft do have some really good brains too!! 🙂🙂
Thank you for the explanation from the bottom up! This kind of thoroughness is exactly how I learn best. At the beginning you said something like, "If you understand these topics, you'll never forget B-Trees" and you were completely correct. I have such a thorough understanding now that they seem almost intuitive. Great video. I would love to see a video continuing onto deletion and analysis.
Again, someone who never comments; Your explanation gave enough context to why these are required in the first place and what differentiates it from other searching techniques. Great appreciation for this video!
This is not an explanation. This is a masterpiece of computer science art! I have just felt how the neural network inside my brain was built during this video. Please, keep your amazing work for the sake of future generations of computer scientists!
full chapter in 39 minutes !! what an explanation.
Nice way of teaching sir keep it up.....
You are a true legend/wizard/genius !!! Hats off sir ! (From 18+ yrs experienced Technical Architect )
I've never commented on a tutorial video in my life, but this man does an exceptional job of making such a complicated concept so easy to understand. Well done :)
Incredibly good video. From the most basic principles up through every step. I not only know the what, but the why. I never thought a 40 minute video on a data structure could pass so quickly and so painlessly.
This is so far the best explanation of B-tree & How DBMS disk management works. Thank you sir.
this is the best lecture i found on b-tree and indexing. starting from the scratch and explaining the reason of having a technique than just explaining the method. brilliant video. looking forward to watch more videos. :)

I study a lot on internet and I must admit this is by far the best way of teaching computer concepts.
You prove "Knowledge is Simple and people make it complex", All should learn from you Abdul Sir!
In France, we say "Ce que l'on conçoit bien s’énonce clairement, Et les mots pour le dire arrivent aisément"...who means from google translate "What we understand well is clearly stated, And the words to say it come easily" ...things are simple when well understood or explained. Your video is great !
Wow man, I really don't know what to say, this 40 minute was a big step to understand indexes and how they works ! THANKS A LOT !
Outstanding explanation. I have recommended this to my entire Georgia Tech CS6400 OMSCS class (Database systems). Abdul has soul and heart in his teaching!
Super sir.
You can not watch Sir Abdul Bari's Video without understanding the topic, just try to distract yourself and lose focus, you will still understand the topic. Best teacher.
This man is a treasure. He has mastered simplifying complex topics.
3+ years of SDE experience and recently changed team and when searched in youtube about B+ tree, the first thing came is your video and glad you have a video on it.! :)

You are a hero for computing science students...Life Saver.
Dear Sir,
Thanks for the video. If the country wants to progress in the field of science and technology then all the teachers at all the levels i.e. schools, colleges, universities etc should be like you in teaching skills.

Hats off to this man! Damn! The way he has introduced us to B trees was JUst phenomenal... I wonder why our Institute professors are not so Phenomenal!

You are not only teaching the students, but your lectures are as much in depth and illustrative that lots of teacher also go through your lectures. You are the best teacher and our inspiration.
You are an absolute legend sir, the joy I felt when it clicked why btree is used reminded me why learning is fun after mindlessly watching tutorials for exam prep..
Dear RUclips, give this man extra money, please. This man is a gem
Sir i can’t literary find any words to thank you. I had the concepts of m-way, B tree & indexing but the way you have combined all these topics together with proper explanation it clears why multilevel indexing uses B+ tree very transparently. I also watched lots of your videos regarding data structures and got a clear knowledge of those topics. Thank you very much for your tireless efforts. Wishing you a very good life ahead and prosperity.
I'm new to data structures and I understand everything you've explained. I just need to digest it all since it's new to me. You are truly talented because most techies can't break things down as you can. I bet your students are brilliant after your classes. You've taught me a lot.
Abdul, my dude, I was trying to understand how my database stores indexes and I gave up because of all the complex documentation out there on B-Trees. You have clearly explained not only what it is, but WHY it exists with regards to DB’s. Stellar lesson!
Thanks! This is the best explanation i have seen on B+ trees
Brilliant explanation!
Got through the 40 minute video and didn't falter my attention even once!
PS: You have more views than the MIT lecturer views. You should be proud. Thank you!
after 2 years and many failed interviews I finally understood it...thank you so much
This is phenomenal, you have no clue how many hours you have saved from research for people
Abdul Saab, you demystify every topic your take up to explain and the most important thing is that every body can relate to what you are explaining. No hard hi-fi words. Fantastic explanation.
insanely insightful video, understood everything in 40 minutes much better than 2 hours of reading PDF materials from teacher
Yes. I tried to read the notes twice, and still confused. But, his explanation makes me more comfortable.
Thank you for the tutorial. An other time, you've helped me get ready for my Dynamical mathematics exam, and now for Databases. Usually I can't understand tutorials in Indian English, but yours is an exception.
I believe, that a deletion tutorial is needed for B+ trees, because there isn't one good on youtube, yet.
Sir, this is the best of the experience of learning i have came across. Till now i have came across such experiences a very few times as a student. I don't know how to thank you , words are very less. I am feeling right now as if i didn't knew anything about these topics earlier though i always had a doubt on indexing. and i m feeling that either i had not studied it properly or our faculties were good for nothing for not clearing it to the root level , which they were expected to be , as we are paying a lot of fees. I am watching this video in the mid of my placements in my 6th year of M.C.A. and this video is not less than a god to me. You are a teacher in a true sense .... "A BIG THANKS TO YOU SIR".... this is your first video i am watching and i am writing this comment in the mid of this video..... Keep going sir $$$$$$
Hey man this really helped me out. Noticed that your last upload was 5 months ago, I hope everything is well with you. To answer your question, I would love a B-tree deletion video. Much love from NYC
It's almost 2 years now Hope everything is fine
