HVAC tech here, be sure you wear full PPE when using that acid based coil cleaner. it works great because it contains hydrofluoric acid which is very damaging not only to your skin and lungs but also to your bones because it loves calcium. there's some old time hvac techs that used it for years without gloves and that stuff gave them osteoporosis in their hands where it got in their body and dissolved the bones in their hands . most hvac techs switched away from the old acid based cleaners in favor of less dangerous options
Hey guys Im a professional detailer with 20+ years experience. I dont recommend anyone trying this if you got no idea how its done. If you still want to go ahead , make sure you cover the whole thing scrub and spread the Acid or Degreaser and make sure not to miss any areas. All you really need is about 20 seconds to wash it off, depending on the strength of the product.... If you got plastics or rubbers make sure to mask them up as they will fade by the time you go to wash it off.
If you are going to scrum the whole thing you might as well just use scotch brite and nothing else. As a metal finisher I would recommend protecting the aluminium with something after if you are unable to anodised it. lacquer or alocrom.
Looks to me like that coil cleaner made a huge improvement with minimal elbo grease! I'm going to try this on my 20 year old aluminum Triton jet ski trailer. I will come back and comment. Thanks.
Hi can you list the ingredients in that product plz mate so I know im buying something that works like this. I'm cleaning an engine bay for a jet rib and doing it by hand is wat too much effort. Cheers
@@TheRandomHandyman 😆 it'll probably eventually come back. This stuff is an awsome aluminum cleaner though. We use it to clean the aluminum on our aircraft refueler trucks at the airport I work at. We use a product called "alumabright". It's sold by ZEP cleaning products. Basically the same acid stuff you're using.
