Fight for Metal feels a bit below this bands usual standards and I'm not overly impressed with the vocals overall so this album only gets a 9 out of 10. :)
Their debut is definitely one of the highlights of the new wave of NWoBHM. Unfortunately the band never reached this level again... imho. This is the most folksy, the roughest, the most British, the most uniqe one... And Chris leaving the mic to Josh was not a good idea either.
Maybe you should revisit Beyond the Veil without any expectations or standards for how folksy, rough, or British it should be. It's fantastic. The songwriting is really strong. I say this as someone who isn't really a fan of lighter NWoBHM or power metal at all, and thought it was way too cheesy the first time I heard it.
I bought this gem years ago when it was released, I was a kid and it changed my life. Thanks for everything!!!
I've had the pleasure to review this one '09. I liked it then, I love it now... Thanks for the upload, mate.
Thank you for the upload. Absolutely wonderful album, got it on gatefold LP not too long ago. Some of the best metal I've heard in years.
I stumbled upon this hidden gem by accident. Much respect
20:55 - Love the Bach break here.
Why sound is so terrible? Is it 140p bitrate????
Right! Is it the upload?

He has his iffy moments, but it totally suits his voice. I wouldn't want anyone else on this album
