Newbie here. Great tips and I need one more. How do you tell the difference between inside and outside of project, especially if using yarn under. It all looks the same to me.
@@kjkernSerendipity great question. The easiest way to keep track is to keep that initial tail when you make your magic ring. That way you always know that is the backside of your work. So as your piece is starting to curve up , you know you want that tail ti be inside of the shape you’re making . Does that make sense?
Your work is so precise, Roz. I have made a few toys and have liked the outcome. I think your best tip is to pin the pieces in place before attaching. I never knew about the under or over differences and I can see that tip being beneficial. I like the idea of a kit as it contains what you need and that each cotton color will be the same yarn type. Another great and helpful video!!💖Thanks for sharing!
Your tips are wonderful. These projects are harder than they appear. I made a bear using acrylic yarn and there were lots of gaps. You just have a very hard time getting it tight enough. That was a great tip to use cotton. The pattern I used didn't mention that. It turned out super cute. ☮️🌍🌲🌷
Hi Jennie! I had the same issue with the wool I used for the bunny. Even with going down in hook size , it felt like I needed to go even smaller. Just so much stretch to the yarn. 🧶 💕💕
Your explanations and instructions . It really helps that you explain so thoroughly and you take your time and don't go so fast like some of the other videos posted. I'm 84 and learn to crochet about 3 years ago by watching videos on You Tube. I'll be looking at your other videos for sure.😇🌸💕🙏 y
I use regular small Bobby pins for stitch markers. They never fall out and are easy to move from stitch to stitch. Love all your videos...always so clear and easy to understand 👍👍
Hey Roz, i always look forward to your videos. I’ve been crocheting for many many years. I’m always learning new things and your channel is a breath of fresh air. Your ideas, tips, tricks, patterns and the beautiful colors you blend together. Years ago when i was first introduced to amigurumi I had a hard enough time pronouncing it let alone crocheting it. I always thought to myself… what’s the point???? Unless you have children grandchildren etc, WHY WOULD YOU BOTHER???? Well….. we’ve all heard there’s a small child in every one of us. I enjoy making them and giving them away. They’re works of art! Some have taken me several days/weeks to make. I’ve kept several for myself. They make me happy!!! Thanks for all you do! ❤
Yes!! When people ask why , I admit, I’m always surprised because I just love them so much. They make me happy . I learned how to knit just so I could make the little cotton rabbits that are so popular. They all just sit on my shelf 😆😆😆❤️ Thanks for sharing your story. Have a great week, Donna. ❤️
Loved all the tips, very helpful! Having a kit with all the supplies and instructions needed all together gives me the idea that I might be able to do this. I used to sew a lot and have done some embroidery so neither of those are intimidating for me. Thank you! 👍👌😊
Hi Roz. Great video and well done on the tips. I have never tackled ag, and I honestly don’t know if I ever will. But if I do, this would be a re-visit video for me. Your videos are always so clear and precise and I love kitty spotting. Take care and thanks for the wonderful tips and tricks. 🐱💕
Good morning Roz It's very cute. I should try one. I have crocheted for over 50 years and I agree with you, it would be a little hard for a brand new beginner but with some experience you could make it. Do you just keep them to make you smile because they do, they sure are adorable? I'm sure some people sell them and some give them to children. I just have always wondered what has brought on their popularity. As always, with all your amazing tips you make everything look easy. Thank you Roz. I so appreciate you and your channel. Have a blessed day! 😊❤
Thank you, Linda! I think the answer is yes to all the above. 👍🏻 Personally, I just make them for my own pleasure. I jenjoy looking at them . 💕I was an illustrator for children’s publishing for over 20 years so I think I’m just attracted to “cute” . My shelves are full of children’s books 😆 💕
Hello Roz and happy Tuesday to you. I've never made any amirgurimy before , but i can easily give it a try . As always anything you do is well done . I do have a favour to adk of you . I always save your videos and was trying to find the one with a display of yarn bowls with the link to see if i could get my hands on one of them . They are so pretty and adorable o sure would buy about 2 of them . One for me and a friend . Thanks so much and enjoy your day with the boys .

Iam going to do my first toy it's a penguin. At first I was scared because it looked had but the morei got into I realized it's single crochet and I can do this. Next project is the chevron stitch. Making a scarf to learn the stitch.
They’ve been popular for a number of years so I’m not sure. I made my first one about 15 years ago. Maybe it’s connected to the rise in popularity for crochet with the younger generation. Teenagers and young adults are more interested than ever ! Toys are cute, relatively inexpensive and fun to make. 💕🧶💕
@@PlayHookywithMe TY for the response and fast, too! Hands down, you’ve got the best crochet channel when it comes to teaching! You are concise/articulate and simplify crocheting from A to Z. It is hard to follow channels with overly verbose folks, distracting music, etc. So, I very much appreciate your channel 🙏🏽☺️
Thank you for the tips. I been trying to figure out how to make these cute animals kits but my mind just freezes up with all the rounds. Love from Texas
I hope you’ll keep at it ! I found writing down the rounds on paper and checking off after each one helps a lot. Reading patterns literally gives me a headache so this helps me to not lose my place (and sanity) 😅💕

And just like you said, dropping hook size is really hard on your hands. It is most likely why we see younger crocheters do this craft. 🌷🌷
I liked the slow motion of the 2 sc variations.
Thank you !
