Hi, Antoaneta. Great video as usual. I met you at Colón Market the day you were filming this video. Do you remember me? I see all your videos and finally met you. I think you are doing a great job and I think you are more beautiful in person. And I agree with you. I have visited Lisbon, Málaga and Barcelona. All of them are great to visit but for living I prefer Valencia, where I live after living in Brussels for 31 years. Thanks, Antoaneta, for all your good tips and wonderful videos.
My wife and I have a friend who moved to Valencia right around the pandemic and she fell in love with it, and she is from Brazil who originally was going to move to the states. My wife and I just came back from Valencia in September from visiting her and all I can say is this truly is a hidden gem of a city. The foods are so delicious, the pace of the city is really calming and relaxing. And yes the city is super safe. Everytime we took public transportation, there were so many women, young women, lots more women then men and that told me and my wife it's very safe. Lastly, if you are not familiar with siesta's, well Valencia take it very seriously, expect many places to be closed from about 2pm to 5pm and open up until 8pm or 9pm
Antonetta it's incredible..I believe that you are one of the best RUclipsrs can make the atmosphere really very attractive and full of beauty everywhere around you.
We also believe Valencia is going to be our dream city soon. We are planning to put in for our VISA in the next few months. If all goes well, we will be there this fall. You have helped us make our decision easier. We look forward to more of your videos. Be safe and happy new year.
I loved visiting Valencia - it's a wonderful sized city and very walkable. We had a great time during our stay there and it was a hub for us to tour Spain, Portugal and France. It's so much nicer to visit Valencia and Barcelona is much too huge.
I was researching Lugo. Its beautiful, but seemed secluded. Valencia on the otherhand seems so vivid and lively. Will have to do more researching. Its also interesting what you said about lucrative visa. We need that here in the US. Thank you for all the info.
Can you provide the name of the restaurant you showed at the end of your video? Loved hearing about the new taco place, we can’t wait to try it. My husband is always looking for spicy foods.
It's 4°C right now in Valencia, at 10AM. Average this month has been 13/14°C during the day- and goes down to single digits at night and morning. Better than many places, but it still gets a bit cold!
OMG Antoanetta! That raspberry cake at the end looked so delicious I literally gasped when I saw it! 😵How was it by the way? Thank you for the wonderful video! 😎
Something to consider: When researching different places to move to I noticed that the taxes in Valencia, in particular income tax and the notorious wealth tax, are ultra-high, even for European standards! (Yes, the taxes do vary among the different Spanish regions!) In fact, Valencia has some of the highest taxes you find anywhere in the world. And no, you do not really get a lot for it.
Taxes in Spain depend of the regional government. Now, as you say, taxes in Valencia are very high, but that will change if there is a change of government. Those regions ruled by the right (as Madrid) have lower taxex than those ruled by the left (Valencia). If on May 28th there is a change because of the regional elections, thins will change. If you choose to live in a region because of low taxes, that can change with a new regional government, and if you decide not to live in Valencia because of high taxes now, you take the risk of seeing that those taxes decrease while they rise in other regions because of a change of regional governments. I mean don't rule out Valencia because of taxes because that will change on May 28th if there is a change of regional government
@@maribelgarcia1115 Thanks for the comment, and I generally agree. However my impression ist that politics in the region of Madrid is generally much less left-wing than politics e.g. in Valencia, Balearic Islands and in particular Catalonia. This depends of course on the mindset of the people who live there so there should be some stability in this respect.
@@timschmitt7550 Valencia was governed by the right until 2015. I think and hope that the right will come back in May and will lower the taxes again. And then Valencia will be the perfect place to live in. But even now that taxes are higher than in Madrid, the cost of living is lower in Valencia
