I could write on and on about how much I enjoyed this video but to sum it up thanks for also crediting the other small creators and very clear explanation. The editing was also very good and I can’t wait to show it to a friend.

Awesome video and analysis! Perspective is so underrated. It's the album that got me listening to classical music.

i think Marty wrote most of speed metal symphony as far as the structure of the song. also concerto. Jason wrote his own parts but the chords and direction were from Marty from what i recall of his and Jason's interviews. still a great overview of the music, though.
it's cool that you talked about his ability to make the guitar sing. the ability he had to emote on the instrument was unparalleled. seamlessly blending the wammy bar and bending, plus his picking sound, is mind blowing.
my favorite thing about him is that even though, imo, he is the greatest guitarist to ever live, he's also a genius composer on the level of Mozart, Beethoven, etc.
but yeah the actual most amazing thing about his playing is that every note matters. it's not just mindless shred. each note, no matter how fast it goes by, is there for a reason. he never plays an arpeggio or run just for the hell of it. each note plays a part and contributes profoundly to the melody he is conveying.
that is what distinguishes him from every other great guitarist and puts him above them all. there are no wasted notes. every single one is integral in the beautiful melodies he does

For years I’ve been trying to write what you wrote here about Jason Becker. Spot on dude! Other guitarists can play fast but they sound like robots unlike Jason

I believe Jason got the gig with DLR before Marty auditioned for Megadeth.

5:42 this is making it sound like composers didn't modulate in baroque music lol
