When I was a young fellow, my family visited Cedar Point every summer, and I was amazed by the sight of the Jumbo Jet. When I was finally tall enough to ride, it was gone. Boo - hoo.
Next to things like Millennium Force or Magnum, the Jet would look like a lawn ornament in comparison, lol! Still a good thrilla that would hold its own today.
Did Schwarzkopf offer a 'mirrored' version of this kit? Because I swear the Jet at Wildwood NJ lift spiralled up and to the right. It was 40 years ago, so memory may be playing tricks. Either way up , thanks for these memories.
Astroland Coney Island used to have a Blue/Red/White one for many many years. It had a "Spinning" Radar on the top which at some point just stopped working. Unfortunately, at some point they stopped taking care of it and scrapped it, yes, scrapped. Terrible. I had good memories on this ride, my first "intense" steel coaster as a kid in the 90s, good introduction to them. I miss the Jumbo Jet, which it came back to Coney.
Believe it or not, this used to be over here at Six Flags Great Adventure, only it never opened. It was one of the biggest coaster mysteries of all time
My dream is to own a park to focuses on preserving classic coasters and flat rides. This is one of the most cool looking coasters in my opinion. Love the massive tower that holds up the lift. If I ever win the lottery ide start tracking down classic rollercoaster hopefully be able to get the track, cars, and lift from Gemini at cedar point then build it a new support out of steel like cci style so it would keep its same appearance but bet better on maintenence.
I never rode the Jumbo Jet at Cedar Point but always wanted to. This POV gave me a good idea of what I missed.
Thank you.
I rode it at the Point ! Great ride !
@@chrisignatz1728well i went on the same one but in Belarus and it sucked
I remember riding this at Cedar Point in the 70s. Having said that, I'm not sure how much I trust those maintenance access ladders at the top.
i rode the Jumbo Jet in 1975 at Cedar Point great ride!
Yeah. I rode Jumbo Jet at Cedar Point in 1970s. Thanks for sharing high-quality 4K POV video.

I used to love this at Cedar Point! No seat belts. No lap-bars. You held on to the outside of the car. I remember having bruises 😅
They had one of these on the boardwalk in Wildwood NJ in the mid 80s when I was a kid. Loved this ride
These rides are beautiful. I love the tube supports around the helix lift hill. It's better when it has a topper on it though.
I used to ride this coaster in Wildwood, NJ when I was a kid! I loved it! It still looks like a great ride!
Great video. I was totally disappointed when the Jumbo Jet got removed from Coney Island in NYC. Thanks for posting.
I remember the one at cedar point used to shear off bolts quite frequently, the maintenance guys used to tell us
