I've read quite a few adverse reactions to the video. Why can't one just be delighted that she has achieved her dream. Money or no money there are many forms of achievement and happiness you just have to find yours. Just watching the process gave me so much pleasure. I am thrilled that women would have the opportunity to visit. Kudos to you Debbie for this monumental accomplishment. I dream one day to be apart of this.
Debbie Travis made her money the old fashioned way- She busted her backside for decades. She deserves to spend her money any way she chooses.
The owner appears very kindhearted, she built this to share with other women as a retreat, and provided jobs and income to others in the process. Bravo!
I think this lady has done a beautiful thing. She restored this villa, and she appreciated each person that made the restoration possible. I loved that she made the effort to thank them in Italian-you could tell they really appreciated that. This villa will be the pride of the area, and should bring in much custom to the neighboring area. It would be a dream of mine to go to a retreat there, and I hope the endeavor is very successful!
For me sadly, this will always be a fantasy. For the last 16 years I have nursed my husband through cancer, then battled it within myself. After that I took care of my invalid mother for the last three years. Just this week I left my home for 3 days to visit my sister who is losing her battle with cancer. It was the first time in over 15 years I had been away from home over night. I can only dream of a vacation where I am not taking care of someone 24/7. Watching these lucky women made me cry, but I hope in my heart they have a wonderful stay.

You don't have to be a woman to appreciate this. It is perfection. Just takes a dream and unlimited amounts of money. At this level, all you need ever ask is "What colors does it come in?"
Not everyone's dream comes true but this struggle an imagination has come true I'm very happy for this

I'm Italian and I must say that you are extremely fortunate to have done the renovation in Italy. No other country in the world has such skilled craftsmen !! I have recently finished a renovation in Costa del Sol and I don't have words to describe their incompetence !!!

She is correct. In Europe all is built with stone or brick and cement. I am continiously amazed at the way houses are built in America. They look fantastic afterwards, but they are built out of wood, drywalling and kept together with nails! No wonder entire towns are flattened by tornados and serious storms. Here in South Africa we may lose a roof here or there and trees are uprooted, but the structures are undamaged.
Affordability. America is a now and throw away society, build cheaply, tear down, rebuild.Keeps the economy going too.
American houses are build cheap, constant work to rework shady workman’ship. Also they all look alike. Nothing good about them. If you build in Italy, do it their way.

I am truly grateful to have come across this video at this time. I needed the inspiration, as the relaunching of the vacation retreat is upcoming. A staple truth spoken was nobody sees the little things that bothers us . Sometimes in life we get so caught up in the journey we forget to sit back and enjoy the ride. Thankyou and blessings .
Not a lot of improvement on the Italian language, but the house is absolutely gorgeous Debbie. I love the architecture, the mix with contemporary, your sense of decoration...it is a dream. Would love to spend time there. Great place. Congratulations
