      😂 I did say to just not get on at Toon Town or Tomorrowland. It’s not something we ride all that often, and I can’t remember if we’ve even ridden the one at Magic Kingdom even once during any of our vacations out there.
      I bring up MK because I realize since this isn’t a vacation for us, we choose to not ride some things others would, but I haven’t ridden it even on vacation.
      Granted the OG Disneyland version is more special that the MK look-alike.

    I definitely see your point with each of these. I’m not looking for thrills though . I’m 57. I’m an introvert. I move slowly. I avoid almost every ride on Genie+ and look for quiet spots. It’s what I love about Disneyland. ❤There’s Something for everyone to enjoy! ❤ Great video!

      That’s fair! On the plus side, all of these rides have standard standbys, so you aren’t dealing with Genie+ guests making the line go real slow.
      Can you imagine if Peter Pan, here, was on Lightning Lane like it is in Florida? That 40 minute wait would be 60+.
      I think they just don’t physically have the space for that in the queue so it’s not.

      @@SoCalDisneyDad you’re right! I do love Peter Pan, but I will only ride it at night because it’s a miserable long wait in the sun. On a yearly 3-4 day trip I will ride it once. I just got back from Disneyland recently and I gotta say something: I used to be a very big defender of the Nemo submarines. They weren’t ever amazing but just for childhood nostalgia and the fact that I love the movie, I’ve always been fond of this ride.
    But this past visit, not only did it take us like 20 minutes to get on it (even AFTER we used a multi experience pass for it) but it completely killed me and my friend’s energy. Sitting in a hot, thin-aired, cramped space for 15 minutes is a very big ask! If you want the Nemo expeirence at Disneyland, go to Turtle Talk with Crush at California Adventure it’s honestly the only noteworthy thing in Hollywood studios.
    Nemo is officially my least favorite Disneyland ride… even worse than the canoes

  • @yotarunner85

    I would not say “rides you shouldn’t ride”. I would say rides you may want to put a lower priority on. Especially if you only have a limited time there. 🤣😂 I honestly only slotted that into this list as a segue into another video with that same tip, but the reason is that in the “Save Time” video, the idea is to get some rides done while wait times are lower during parades and fireworks.
      As a whole, parades and fireworks can be enjoyable if you don’t mind camping out for an hour beforehand.
      I just did Magic Happens a few weeks ago. That’s enough for me for awhile.
      Now, if they bring back Paint the Night, I will tell people to absolutely NOT skip that. Best parade they’ve ever done. Even over MSEP I think.

      I said right out the gate I would make some enemies. 😂
      About the only time I ever ride it is when I can use Genie+ in Orlando for it.
      I don’t do well in lines. I’m not ADHD or anything, but lines much longer than about 30 minutes really get to me. And Peter Pan almost never dips below that.
      I’m trying to think of a time in recent history where I voluntarily got in line for a ride over 30 minutes, and I’m drawing a blank.

    Okay. You lost me with this video. SKIP these rides? They are quintessential Disney! They are originals and still hold the magic that Walt intended for Disneyland. ESPECIALLY Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln! That was Walt's baby and it would be a SHAME to miss it, especially if you have children in the public school system, (who not only don't know about the holocaust), but about HOW America functioned and our history. 3:01 I would like to make a counter-argument in favor of NOT skipping the Disneyland Railroad. To begin with. It's historical value to Disney history is so important, as trains were the reason Walt wanted to build the park in the first place. Beyond that, it gives visitors a great way to rest their feet and just enjoy the sights and sounds of Disneyland for awhile. Plus, who doesn’t love steam engines?

    The Disneyland Railroad does allow strollers- they just have to be able to fold up to bring on board.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад

      Does it? I’d be happy to be wrong there. I was under the impression they clogged up the aisle and made it impossible for guests to get around.
      Perhaps umbrella strollers are fine enough, but larger strollers don’t seem like they’d work. And all rented strollers don’t have the ability to fold, so that eliminate any guests with a Disney stroller.

  • @omarandjessica08

  • @jaanfo3874
    @jaanfo3874 Год назад +1

    I agree with almost everything on your list except #5…. I’d skip the monorail and ride the train. The only reason for the difference is because the train actually brings you somewhere. It’s transportation. As the day winds down, my feet and legs are tired, and we have to get to the other end of the park, the train is a great way to minimize walking. The monorail only brings you outside of the park (To the Disneyland hotel), and if you ride back in you’re forced off whereas you can ride the train all day. To that end if you have a young child who loves riding trains and you want a 20 minute break, doing a round trip on the train is a perfect way to entertain the kid while sneaking in a break for yourself. There are lines at the stations, but most of the stations have ample benches to sit on, and the monorail has just as long a wait. Disneyland RR > Monorail any day.

    • @jaanfo3874
      @jaanfo3874 Год назад

      If the Monorail were air conditioned it would gain some points, but it’s not, which means it has no advantage over the train. The only times I ride the monorail is when I’m entering or leaving the park while it’s running and don’t want to deal with crowds at the esplanade.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад

      Valid counter arguments. Admittedly, we don't ride much of either one of them, but my kids love the monorail more than the train (because they love monorails more than trains, not for the ride itself) and it's fun to be high up zipping around the Resort.
      But for sure, it doesn't really take you anywhere unless you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

    About the monorail. Many years ago you can do a roundtrip ride or disembark at Disneyland Hotel/ Downtown Disney. Now (as of last year) you have to disembark at Downtown Disney. Monorail would operate during early hours at Disneyland Park, then stop operating until later evening hours. If you disembark make sure you get your hand stamped for Disneyland Park re-entry if it's still early enough.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  Год назад +1

      I just road the monorail round trip without disembarking about three weeks ago.
      And Disneyland no longer does hand stamps. You have in and out privileges all day.
      The only trouble is you can hop parks until you’ve been scanned into one for at least 30 minutes.
      I saw someone scan in two weeks ago, then he left to get something from his hotel room. And upon returning, 30 minutes had not elapsed and he was having trouble scan in. But they let him in anyway when he explained.

    Deciding which attractions you should skip depends on a lot of weather and wait times for us. On our last trip we skipped a few on this list because of the weather (too cold) or they just weren’t running (the smaller rides of DCA due to the winds), but others we tried because the wait times weren’t bad and we actually really enjoyed them (but had avoided them for many years prior). My daughter and friends that were with us loved Tom Sawyer’s (Pirates Lair) and it was a favorite of my husband’s growing up. My daughter also loved the Disneyland Railroad scenes and walking through Sleeping Beauty’s castle (which are skips for many others, I know). I think for a lot of things they should be tried to see if you like them and if they are worth waiting to do again or if they are a one and done.

      @LeftCoastDrones Год назад

      @@SoCalDisneyDad You can choose which Fantasmic you want to see. Either the 9pm or the 1030. My suggestion is to get a seat by the castle at abut 745 for the 930 Wondrous show so you can be close enough to see the projections on the castle and then after the show is done at 950, head over to your River Belle seating. There's two options for the River Belle dining package. One comes with a ticket where you have reserved floor seating up close to the Rivers of America. The second option is that you have your dinner at River Belle and then watch Fantasmic from your table. While it's nice to have a table and chairs, I recommend sitting on the ground up close and personal. To be able to see the expressions on the characters faces vs just the general idea of the characters makes the show more dynamic.

    Depends on the make up of your party, with kids involved a lot of these are big no-way skips, if you're a party of adults then yeah I can see some of these. That said I can get behind Casey Jr and add to that Storybook Canal as big skip rides, ditto with Davy Crockett Canoes, and Purple Flick's Fliers... er I mean Emotional Whirlwind, and would shed a tear if King Arthur's Carousel was closed for refurbishment. 100% disagree on the Disney Railroad though, that a good way to get off your feet and just relax for a while without just sitting on a bench. And why are you even at Disneyland if you're skipping all the parades and fireworks? I mean ok all you care about is riding rides, I'd hit up Universal or Knots or Six Flags.

      I can’t even tell you the last time I saw the fireworks at Disneyland.
      Okay, I can. Sometime last year, but I watched them from my hotel, not at the park.
      See I don’t handle waiting much longer than 30 minutes for things. This includes parades and fireworks. If I could get a decent spot showing up 10 minutes before it happens, I would absolutely do them more.
