You reach the highest point of A8 on this section, and one of the most spectacular part of it, The Albaufstieg. Drove many times here, enjoyed it everytime, thanks for sharing the video, greetings from a roadtripper and creator from Germany!
Looks like the Albaufstieg isn't going to be replaced any time soon. So amazing that this stretch dates from the late 1930s and will soon be almost a century old. Probably just in time for its replacement to be inaugurated. 👍😜
Really do hope so, however, if Germany's Autobahn construction record is anything to go by, I am also afraid it won't happen for quite a while. They need some Norwegian tunnel spirit over here and be done with it 😄
@@nielsontheroad What's perhaps a missed opportunity is that when constructing the high speed rail line Ulm-Stuttgart which runs next to the A8 they didn't bore twin car tunnels next to the rail tunnels through those mountains. It's nice passing under the railway viaducts though 👍
